RJ Baratta performed a bathroom remodel at my home. This entailed removing/reinstalling a tile floor, drywall, toilet, pedestal sink, lighting, mirror, and fixtures. Rob arrived on the date scheduled to begin job. All the work was completed on the day he specified at the price we agreed upon. The bathroom is now the nicest room in my house, thanks to his meticulous attention to detail. Visitors to my home continue to comment on how well the project turned out. Would highly recommend.

as above - it did not "go" at all - after sending a quote, we have never heard from him again...
Description of Work: I contacted RJ Baratta because I got a postcard in the mail. Rob came out and looked at everything I wanted done several weeks before Thanksgiving. We discussed that I wanted one job finished by December 16th and another job sometime in the winter. There were several other jobs to discuss later. He sent an "all inclusive" quote, so I asked him to break it down into the first job only, and send me more information about the second job. He sent me the quote as requested, and I asked him where to send the deposit, what the timeframe for the job would be, and for a couple of references. I have never heard from him again. I sent email and text. I can only assume either something happened, he got super busy, or.. I don't know - I am baffled. Why send out a postcard looking for work if you never take the job? There has been absolutely no contact since the end of November- its as if he has fallen off the earth. I am very disappointed - I wanted the job done and could have kept him busy for a long time. Rob seemed like a great guy - I don't understand what happened and why he decided not to do the work. Even if it was just that he got too busy, it only makes sense to communicate back to me that I need to wait until he is freed up. I don't understand why it is so hard to find a contractor....

He was prompt once we agreed on a start date, cleaned up after his work each day, and responded promptly to all my inquiries.
Description of Work: Mr. Baratta helped me identify all exterior wood around the outside base of house that needed to be replaced, much of it molding, but also some siding. He expertly replaced it all with synthetic material of best grade, and finished it so well it was immediately ready for painting. It looks like it was fitted into the original construction.

I really liked him when he came out for a quote. I waited for a couple of weeks and called him and then he changed his tune and said that we would have to wait till Christmas, and that was in late summer. I finally went with someone else. He is a great guy personally, but I could not wait till Christmas to have the work done. He was very pleasant and professional. He seemed to know what he was talking about.
Description of Work: R J Baratta gave me an estimate in the summer of last year for some carpentry work.

We had a fantastic experience. When the condo association decided to schedule all trim to be painted in September, we realized that we had to do something about our deteriorating deck. We called Rob and he was able to start the job within a few weeks. We knew at the outset that the cost might be higher if the rot went deeper than expected. Unfortunately it did, but the cost didn't increase terribly. Rob and his partner are diligent, punctual and friendly. The quality is incomparable. They completed the work within the time frame promised. The only hiccup we had was with the railing. The Azec only comes in a limited number of styles. When it was installed, we realized that we preferred the larger, chunkier style of the old rail even though it would mean using pressure treated wood (not maintenance free). Rob was very understanding and replaced the rail for us immediately. I have never worked with a contractor as good as he is.
Description of Work: Our deck was falling apart and needed to be repaired/replaced. The work consisted of: - demo existing decking from porch and both stairs - demo all rotted pine along knee walls, lattice and railing on porch - Install new gray Fiberon composite decking to porch and stairs - Install Azec PVC trim boards to stair risers and to the top and sides of knee walls - Install new white vinyl privacy lattice in same location as removed - all trash and old material to be removed and disposed of

We recently had hardwood flooring installed in one floor and staircase of our condo. Rob was the subcontractor who installed the stairs. He was fantastic! Our place has a lot of imperfections which makes it a challenge for any work to look really good. In many cases we've had to settle for being "good enough" while realizing that it's "just a condo." The stairs were no exception. Some were wider than others, some resembled trapezoids instead of rectangles. When Rob was done, there was not a gap anywhere and everything looked uniform and very high end. We had other carpenters over after the floors were finished to give us bids for baseboard work who commented on what a nice job was done on the stairs. However, it isn't just the quality of his work that is outstanding. Rob is reliable, professional and personable. He came every day that he was expected, even when one of those days included a major snow storm. He was here first thing in the morning and stayed the whole day. He answered questions about the job and was very pleasant. I highly recommend him. We have more renovation work in the future and plan to call him first.
Description of Work: Rob did the stairs as part of a larger hardwood floor installation. Specifically, he installed a staircase with 5/4 Red Oak including three pie steps which were done with 2 1/4 Red Oak Flooring.
