Description of Work: He added 2 new outlets and replaced all the other existing outlets with new ones. He added a light fixture and wired it to a switch which was only wired to an outlet. He also put in A/V recessed boxes and routed the ethernet cable and coaxial cable through the wall.

 + 0 moreGreat experience. Had Jack (?) out last fall. He was very patient as I walked him through the house and showed him all the electrical things I was having problems with. He replaced our old ceiling fan and a flood light. Will definitely call again.

 + -1 moreWe were told that morning we needed an electrician as the electrical box attached to the furnace had become electrified. We found out a screw was close to a wire and somehow due to an electrical issue down the street the two had touched and the whole furnace became electrified and wouldn't turn off. I was very concerned about getting someone that day (we were told by the furnace company that it needed to be rectified before they could finishe their work and our furnace could be put back on line); but Nusbaum came right in, they did the work, charged a VERY good price for such a sudden need and all was fixed to our satisfaction. The gentleman was quick, cleaned everything well and did the work even though we have three cats and he was allergic - he didn't complain once!
Description of Work: Corrected an electrical issue in the box that is connected to our furnace.

I've had him upgrade my 1935s home with Cat5 runs in both my bedrooms and the downstairs living room, add a new 30 amp electrical outlet to my home office and even installed a new ceiling fan. I even had him fix all of the electrical in an apartment built in early 1900s, that was constantly shorting out. I've had nothing but excellent results from him so far. I wish there were more go-to people I could count on out there for work around my house.

 + -1 moreI would definitely call them again should I have any need for an electrician. Wish I could remember the name of the young man who completed the work. He was excellent and very professional.
Description of Work: The outlets in my three bathrooms all quit functioning on the same day. I chose lNusbaum Electric from a list provided by Angie. I called them and got help immediately. I liked the fact that they tried to solve my problem without scheduling a service call. When that didn't resolve the problem, they came out later that day and showed us where the surge protector for those outlets was located. Never would have figured it out on my own. I spoke to them about a few other electrical issues I was having like my bathroom fan. They didn't charge me for service call since I was scheduling further work. They recommended a fan I could buy either locally or online. I wasn't completely convinced it would work as a replacement, and fortunately, because of the company's poor service I cancelled the order. I scheduled a time for them to replace the fan, and that was put off a few times, due to a storm that caused power outages throughout the area, and had the electricians installing generators and getting power back to folks. That I understood, but what was unacceptable, was them not notifying me that they wouldn't be coming. I had to contact them to find out what happened. This happened twice. But when they did arrive, i was so impressed with the men who completed my projects. The fan they brought, as expected, didn't fit, but they were able to get a replacement quickly. They installed a surge protector on my electrical box. Since we would be traveling for an extended period, I needed to locate the electrical shut off for hot water heater. I live in a condo, and through their help, discovered this shut off was located outside in a box at end of complex. Not an ideal solution. They were able to install a switch near my hot water heater which was safer and definitely more convenient. I was happy with all the work they did and the quality of that work.

 + -1 moreI called Nusbaum Electric, and they were able to arrive within a couple hours of calling them. The electrician did the job promptly and professionally, and charged a good rate. It was when it was bitterly, terrible cold for a few days, and the fact that they were able to come and do this job so quickly, and get our heat up and running in a timely manner, really impressed me. Most other companies that I have called in order to do work have required appointments/days in advance/etc. I would recommend this company to anyone that asked.
Description of Work: I had a burned out main board in my boiler. The plumbing company provided the parts, and Nusbaum Electric came and did the work. They were able to come so promptly that, even though the heat stopped working at around 11:00 PM at night, they were able to get it done and back up and running by noon the following day.

 + -1 moreDanny of Nusbaum gave us a quote. He was on time (-to the minute!- ) and explained the process. In addition, he spent time and gave us a quote on more lengthy work, reconfiguring our box to accommodate a generator ( to be done at a later date) In addition, he offered to do the digging portion of the job independently, ( a trench from the front walkway to the street, about 70 ' longX18" wide ) for what we thought was a reasonable fee. He was available later in the same week ( On a Saturday!) , arrived with a helper, and did the job quickly. He was at all times personable, and professional. He showed me the way he seated the pole on the PVC piping so that the pole's weight did not bear down on the wire, causing future shorts. He saved a perennial bush he had to dig up so I could replace it, without being asked to do so. I would highly recommend this company, and this professional, for electrical work. I haven't had outside lamps for 3+ years; I 'm really happy to be well lighted again. And Danny is a great guy.
Description of Work: I needed lampposts replaced. My husband had dug up the existing ones and determined where the short was. I called Nusbaum to get a quote for that, and for a generator hook up.

Set appointments for the two condo's and met tech there. They investigated the scope of work and gave me a quote on site and began the work. They returned again to complete the other condo in my absense with no issues from my tenants. Paid via credit card over the phone as I live an hour from the condo's. Their work was neat, efficient, courteous and professional. Thanks for a job well done.

 + -1 moreI called Nussbaum Electric to have an outlet put in my kitchen for a TV. I advsed them that the install would need to be done on a Saturday as my wife and I work during the week. I was told they normally do not work on Saturday, but he would talk to his workers when they came in to find someone to do it. He then said he would call me back on Monday. Monday came and went with no callback. I called again on Wednesday, and was told he forgot to inquire, but asked for my callback information again and stated again he would get back to me after speaking with his workers when they came in. Once again I received no call back. Needless to say I never heard back from them.

When they looked at the fountain and the preparation work done by the landscapers, due to the weight of the fountain, what they had originally planned when they gave their estimate for the wiring would not work. After a call to the landscapers and a discussion with me, they came up with a alternative solution and completed the work within the original estimate. I appreciated their flexibility and their customer-focused attitude.

They charge $60 per hour per electrician (which at 2 per job = $120 per hour); so my 10 hours of items cost me $1200. Now that rate was probably comparable to other electrician services; but was still a lot of money in my opinion.
Description of Work: Long punch list of switch, lighting fixture, power outlet, and wiring issues after moving in to new home. Nusbaum sent 2 electricians for 3 visits to complete the list of repairs.
