I had used Bill before to service my snowblower as well as my lawn tractor. I was having problems with the snowblower not wanting to move forward even on a level surface, let alone going uphill. I called Bill and asked if he could look at it. I left the snowblower outside so he could come at his convenience. He came and looked and then gave me a call. He explained to me what it likely was and gave me an estimate (between 250 and 350) assuming the repair did not require one particular -- and very expensive -- part. Bill said he would not know if I needed that part until the snowblower was disassembled. I told him to go ahead. He came by the next day and picked it up, took it apart, ordered the parts, did the repairs, and brought it back to me. Total cost was 315. At the next snowstorm I unfortunately had the same problem. I called Bill and let him know. He already suspected what the issue was, since there was one other part that was perhaps marginal that he had not replaced. He picked up the snowblower the next day, ordered the part, and had the snowblower back to me in about another week or so. Additional charge? Zero! Can you believe that? So I got quality repairs from a really nice guy at a good price from and he picks up and delivers. You can't beat this. Taking your snowblower to a local shop could cost $159 just for the initial drop-off and diagnosis -- and that is with you dropping it off. Most of these places don't pick up and deliver for free, you know. And if you go to them in the middle of the season, they know they have the upper hand, and they are happy to charge you and make you wait 7 weeks. You really cannot go wrong with Bill and Backyard Power Solutions. I have recommended him to several people. I will certainly be calling him in the future when I need service on my snowblower, lawn tractor, etc.
