 + -1 moreThe stove hood install was uneventful. Problems arose with the installation of the peninsula. The first major error was that the installer used by Cabinet En-Counter attached the peninsula to the floor with screws through a newly poured concrete floor fitted with radiant heat pipes. Fortunately none of the radiant hot water tubing was punctured. The second mistake was that a vapor barrier was not installed on the bottom of the butcher block counter top resulting in the top warping due to the presence of a warming drawer. I spoke with John Boos and they stated emphatically that a vapor barrier should have been a part of the install since the top was over a warming drawer. When I approached the merchant to reinstall the butcher block with a vapor barrier he refused to accept responsibility and stated I should find a contractor and take care of the problem myself.
Description of Work: installed a blue star commercial gas range and hood that were color matched at the Blue Star Factory. Ordered a custom peninsula with three drawers, two vertical side doors for large tray/baking pan storage. Bottom drawer was fitted with a warming drawer. The surface was 4 inch maple butcher block from John Boos.
