Description of Work: A water softener was installed in our basement, which included plumbing and setting the parameters for its performance.

Description of Work: I have hard water that also contains a lot of iron. When my 'big box store' water softener failed, I thought it was time to move up to a professionally installed system. I contacted Crystal Hills Water Systems in Kingston, NH, and they sent out their general manager, Bob, to see what I needed. Bob thoroughly tested the water and suggested a couple of ways to clean it up. I settled on a system that uses a ProFlo SXT Birm Iron Filter (to remove iron), and a ProFlo SXT Water Conditioner (water softener). These units regenerate automatically, based on the amount of water used. All I have to do is check the salt level ever few months. The plumber that Crystal Hills sent to install the system was very professional, doing a clean installation and removing all the old equipment. My water is now crystal clear, tastes great, and leaves no rust stains on my plumbing. The amount of salt the system uses to regenerate is less than one quarter the amount the old system used. Crystal Hills Water Systems is an easy company to deal with and I would recommend their work.
