On June 11. 2013 I called this company and was told by teh woner that as this job was small they would be able to get in with in 48 hours of me calling to set up an appointment and to just call when I was ready. So I called on June 25 2013 to schedule the instalation. At that point I was told that it would be at least three weeks. after a long and drwn out conversation we came to an agreement and the appointment was scheduled for July 5th 2013. On July 2 2013 I received a call and asked if they could come in and do the job on July 3 2013. They had a job in the morning but would arrive at my house at approximately 2pm. The job was supposed to take 3 hours. I thought it rather nice that they were able to get there two days before the original appointment as this would allow me to get an inspection from the town on July 5 and be able to install the sheetrock the weekend of July 6/7. On July 3rd they called and stated that they were running about an hour late. This was not really a problem as they would still be done by about 6 pm. They did show up about an hour late and got started right away. They got the floors, ceiling, windows and moldings covered up with plastic so that they did not get overspray on them. At this point to me it seemed like the job was going well. After about 2-1/2 hours they were done spraying the insulation and were ready to start the covering removal process. It still seemed like they were on track to be done in a little over 3 hours. At this point I saw the supervisor walking into the house with a hand saw and a 6 inch blade electric saw. I asked him right right away if he had a long blade saw to trim the insulation with. (Spray foam insulation contractors should have a long blade saw the spans the entire stud bay to trim the small amount of exxess that is generated by the expansion process) His response was "No we dont have one of thoses they are not really needed." At this point I knew there was going to be a problem. They did not have the correct tools to do the job properly. I also felt that they were not going to be done by 6 pm. They eneded up getting finished up at 10:30 pm. more than 4 hours after they had estimated. By this time at night (the day before a national holiday) it was dark and there was not way for me to really tell how good or bad the job was really done. I could tell that there were some areas that did not have enough insulation sprayed in them but they also refused to spray any more insulation to fill in the low areas. The next morning when I awoke it was apparent that the job performance was very poor. They were supposed ot spray 3" of foam insulation in all stud bays. What i found was that in about 70% of the bays the depth was 3+ inches. the other 30% was 2" or less and in about 10% of it it was less than 1" thick. I knew at thispoint it was not going to pass inspection. As it was now July 4th and a national holiday I held off calling and waited until July 5th. I called the company and got no response but beign a holiday weekend it may be that they have the weekend off. When the inspector showed up on July 5 2013 she did fail the installation of the insulation. After talking with her for more than 30 minutes we came to an agreement that I would do the added installation work needed and that way I would be able to start hanging the sheetrock on July 7 2013. Unfortunately with the lack of proper tools, the very enderestimated time to complete the job and the poor attitude when i spoke with them about the job I would "Not Recommend" this contractor. And a s a matter of fact I would go as far as to tell anyone to "stay away" from this company for insulation work.
