This contractor is awful. Disappeared from job after last payment. Retaining wall failed in less than a year. Installed vinyl fence upside down (bottom rail with metal support for weight installed on top). Installed bad fill (full of weeds and trash). Cant get ahold of contractor for warranty claim. Changed phone number, won't respond to messages sent through AL. I had to bankroll his payroll. His workers borrowed my tools.

R Lanoue and his crew did an excellent job removing our old retaining wall and replacing it with a new one. We were very pleased with the work and hired him to do a couple of other smaller jobs around our yard that also needed to be done. One of these jobs was to remove some bushes and redo a portion of our underground sprinkler system. Once our walkway was laid, we paid him approximately $400 to apply some sort of material that was supposed to harden between the bricks and prevent weeds from growing. One application was applied at the time the walkway was done but most of it washed away soon after. It was agreed that he would come back in the spring to do it again. It was also discussed that he would "clean up" some of the pipes that were installed on our house as a part of the sprinkler system. It has been a few years but I believe there were also a few smaller items that just needed to be resolved but nothing major at the time. This is where the problems seem to have begun. Once the spring came, I never heard from him, even after calling several times. One day he happened to be doing some work at the house of a friend of mine and I asked her to ask him to call me back. We finally spoke and a date was agreed for him to come back. Three separate times he promised me he would be out to the house on a particular date and he did not show. I eventually had to resort to filing a small claims action. Two times he was a no show for the hearing and because of that, I won a judgment. He was ordered to make monthly payments to me but he never did and so a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. My husband and I still do not know what happened since we were so happy with the work he did yet all he needed to do was to come out to our house for a couple of hours to tie up some loose ends and we would have used him again.
