The commercial specialist who oversaw the project was here at the start and finish of the work. This was a large job and the crew of two worked throughout the day to finish by 5:00 PM. The process starts by sealing all vents and using a high capacity fan and filter system to create a vacuum for the entire duct system. This enabled to crew to be certain there were no internal leaks in the duct system. Starting in the upstairs, each supply and return vent was individually blown out using a circulating device driven by a compressor. This forces all the dust and debris down through each of the ducts and into the HEPA filters the crew had brought in. One of the return ducts was clogged and a camera was brought in to discover and retrieve wood pieces and a coffee cup, apparently left by the original contractors. As the crew was wrapping up, I started to vacuum the floors and was informed that they would vacuum all the floors and clean each floor and wall vent cover (they were dusty). In addition and with our permission, they applied a lemon cleaner to the area under and around each vent. This type of job is somewhat disruptive as the heat must be shut down and furniture moved around to get access to the ducts. Outside of this inconvenience, the job went smoothly and on schedule. The crew was very professional and explained the process. I like to check on progress and they were glad to answer all my questions. I was interested in seeing the disposable filters which were used on this project. These caught the majority of the particulates, but were also backed up and filtered through a set of HEPA filters. Overall, I would highly recommend Servpro - Manchester for their duct cleaning services. The technicians, Jay and Vince did a great job!
