installed new gutters on my home

This work was done 3 years ago and the ongoing problems under the so-called 5 year guarantee are worth warning others who might hire this company. Don't. Bill Kippen is a pleasant salesman who will promise you anything you want and give you a great sales pitch. He'll tell you that he fits his gutter so well, they never leak and don't even need caulking. After 1 year, all four of the corners were leaking. He did send some kids over to putty them---so much for the great fit. He also promised me to reinstall the gutter screens I already had in the old gutters. It was a handshake promise and I believed him. His son, who did the job also said he'd reinstall them. Clever man. He installed them on the first floor porch gutters where I could see them. I later found out when another repair man was on the roof that he never installed them in the other gutters. Bill won't keep his word and reinstall them. So don't believe him unless it's in writing. The Ice Dam System was another mess. When I turned it on before expected snow the first year we had it, it keep tripping the breaker. Bill scratched his head and said we'd have to wait until Spring to check it out. As a result, we had ice dams and water damage that winter because the system didn't work (see picture). Turned out that his son had managed to cut the wire during installation causing a short. Bill, who had bragged to me when selling the system that he would NEVER splice wire because of the problems down the road, came over and spliced the wire. Then, because he had underestimated the wattage of the system to the electrician, I had to pay for a second installation to meet the needed amps. Bill will also tell you that you should turn the system on (if you can) in December and leave it on all winter. No problem. He doesn't tell you how much it costs. For my system, with 295 feet of 10 watt cable, the cost works out to about $500 a month for electricity. It would be less, but Bill installed an extra 50 feet of cable that wasn't needed. STAY AWAY from this company!!!! May give you a good price but you also get poor work.

everyone I dealt with at the company was great. I had someone come out to meet me twice to get a quote and go over my options and then a second time to look at colors because I couldn't make up my mind. The two men who put up the gutters were good workers a be personable.

The gutters that were installed leaked during the very next rain storm. A call was placed to the owner of the company and his reply was he'd come and look at it when he was in the area. Have not seen or heard from him since.

Tried to reach someone by calling the phone number provided by Angie's List on 10/15. There was nobody available but voicemail acknowledged company and individual and invited me to leave a message. Requested a call to discuss gutter repair work. As of 10/21, I have yet to hear from anyone. Moving on.

They were here on time and competed the work with professionalism. I would recommend them to anyone who asks me.

Went so good I can;t believe my eyes

Due to the size of our roof we needed another 1/2 round gutter spout added. I called the gutter kings and they said they would have to install new gutters over $1000. William came out and did the spout install for $200. Great Job!

Our two story house has a hip roof which required gutters on all four sides and on three sides of several one story sections. This was a complicated job that took the crew a couple of long days. The results were great. Outstanding products and excellent workmanship. Surprisingly, the gutter dome cost more than the gutter itself but the product is very robust, probably indestructible. We have an abundance of pine and oak trees surrounding the house so the gutter dome was a must and well worth the price. This was a good example of "you get what you pay for": It was a pricey job but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend Bill and his company.

Scheduling took time but when they arrived, the job was completed quickly and effectively.

Scheduling the estimate was easy enough. The owner, Bill, came out and took measurements and drafted a quote within a few minutes. That was fine. The only thing that bothered me was that he didn't seem satisfied going through a woman. He said multiple times that my husband could call him and I kept asking why would my husband need to do that? I'm handling this. That's just not acceptable to me and having been slighted as a woman before I was annoyed and offended, but I put it aside and chose to go with them. Scheduling the actual job was a pain. It took much longer than expected to get on the schedule and when I said I was returning to work Bill seemed like it was my fault I hadn't communicated that earlier because he wanted someone home on the day of. We finally got on the schedule after I went back to work. My husband made arrangements to work from home and no one showed up that day. We were livid. Bill apologized and they made arrangements to come first thing the next morning but they showed half an hour late. We walked perimeter and asked that downspouts be extended as long as possible. Came home to find very clean work but only half done. They kept ladders at our house through the weekend which was fine. And finished the job the following Monday. Bill had left a message asking if we were satisfied. I called back to express disappointment that only one downspout was extended as we asked. Bill said he'd come next day to do others. I also paid over the phone. His wife handles the billing and she was very pleasant to work with. The next day Bill showed up while my mother was home and gave her a lot of attitude when she told him that I hadn't left any payment. He acted very put out and then finally checked in with his wife who reminded him that I'd paid in full via credit card the night before. I'd hire them again because the gutters look great and they were very clean. Plus, I like that they are a small family owned and operated business. However, it was frustrating to work with someone so disorganized and with old school thinking.

I don't have much detail to write except to say that owner is the best contractor I've ever dealt with. He is up front, sincere, conscientious and does great work. Before we hired him, he came to the house and went over all of the trade-offs for cost, quality, features, durability, etc. He made it easy for us to determine the best option for our situation. While he was performing the work he noticed that the drip edge on a recently installed membrane roof section wasn't done properly. He even took photographs so I wouldn't have to go up on the roof to inspect it. He suggested that we should have it repaired and explained in detail a couple of options for how it could be done. He didn't offer to do the work but we were so happy with the rest of his work that we asked him if his company could do the repairs and he agreed. When we can afford it, we plan to have him back to install an ice melt system.

Excellent work and would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Manager responded a couple of days after I left voice mail requesting gutter service. He was able to come out the next day to survey the area, in spite of being overloaded with work. Gave me an estimate which I approved and he then sent two of his workers out to do the job. Work was relatively minor (cleaning jams) and surveying the gutter installation. We determined any major relocation of the gutters was not practical and I decided not to pursue gutter replacement or realignment. They had already spent a couple of hours to make the gutters workable again. I fully expect the gutters to fail again because of the nature of their location. Workers were very courteous. They got the job done that I contracted for.

They first came to give an estimate and stuck to their original price. They were great! They did quality work for a reasonable price. It took about one day to complete the job.

Very satisfied with the work. I don't think any other company could have done a better job. Highly recommend this gutter company.

The owner of the company came out and pretty much explained everything that they were gonna do then gave the quote. He went back in his truck and gave the quote on the spot. So, it was really quick. They were able to come out a few weeks later to repair 2 gutters another contractor had installed improperly. They also installed 2 new gutters. They did a great job and the gutters work. There were a few minor leaks at the seams after the next rainfall. We call the company and they sent a crew out to make some minor repairs. Since then, all is working well and we appreciate their quick response!! Their price was more than reasonable and they are very busy, which is a sign that they do good work!! We would recommend them.

This is local family business after and his two sons. The company uses a pickup truck and tow a small snowmobile trailer that has been modified to carry the gutter machine. They were very nice and were very polite .

I contacted Granite State Gutter via email through their website for a free estimate. They called me that same day to set up a time to come out and take a look at the job. The estimate was very reasonable so I scheduled the job with them. On the scheduled day, they arrived promptly and did a fabulous job installing first time gutters on my barn and replacing the old leaking gutters on my house. They worked quickly, performed a high quality installation and cleaned up after the job was complete. The actual price paid was a little less than what was quoted. Overall I am 100% satisfied with their work and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to add or replace gutters on their buildings. I would definitely use them again should the need arise.

Well I am not going to beg them to come out since there are plenty of other businesses that may want my business.

He was very nice, informative, and reasonably priced. He came out within 5 days, and him and his son worked very quickly. I intend to use him again.

I hired him in June but he did not finish until recently. I would advise to get a finalized date. Once he got here he worked very efficiently but he said he was unable to get the materials sooner, which I'm not sure I believe or not in today's market. The quailty of his work is very good and I would use him again but approach it in a different manner and set a timeline.
