American Asphalt Paving

From the first phone call to the payment these people have been wonderful. Friendly professional went over and above expectations. I got phone calls back sooner than quoted, the crew showed up when expected worked hard and did a fantastic job. I would definitely use them again!!!

I hired American asphalt and paving to repave my driveway/parking lot. The Contractor charged me a premium charge (~$38K) for a drastically substandard job. The driveway is so bad that sections will not last through the winter and I'll be lucky if the driveway last one to two years. Less than one month after being paved, I'm already requesting quotes to have the driveway repaved. The contractor threatened me with the filing a mechanical lien. In the state of New Hampshire, this process is tailored to meet the needs of the contractor. When the contractor breaches the contract the consumer is still holding the short end of the stick. I ended up paying $20,000 for a driveway and I'm already requesting quotes for repaving. This company doesn't know the meaning of quality work, completing the work to the agreed contract (paving thickness, foot print, dimensions, etc.). I was constantly being pacified and lied to by the owner and eventually the estimator (eg; standing water). They took it upon themselves to determine what was best without consulting me. Good examples include the footprint, the dimensions of the driveway and the sidewalk. These are just a few of my 17 item punchlist items, which includes significant drainage issues (3+' water drainage) directly in walking path to the main entrance to the complex and the placement of a PVC pipe placed directly under the walkway asphalt. Here you can walk on the asphalt and see the asphalt actually flexes as you walk across the surface, as well as the PVC pipe having a negative gradient. I don't trust the owner or the estimator of this company, and I directly told them using documented proof. There were little to no effort put forth by the company to fix the problems. If you are considering hiring an asphalt company, I would highly recommend that you stay away from American Asphalt and Paving. As a veteran, the phone greeting on their answering machine discuss me. We hired American Asphalt Paving to remove and replace out current driveway. We had this done on September 27, 2017. The process stared with Dave the estimator whom was very professional and knowable of what needed to be done and how they would fix the problem for us. We agreed on what we thought was a fair price based on other estimates we had received. They schedule the work for September 27, 2017 and showed up as scheduled. They came with all the equipment at one time and the owner Bob came to the door and stated what they were going to do. The equipment was mostly newer and it was very well maintained which a sign that they care about the work they do. The crew all knew what to do and all the equipment was lined up in the order it was going to be used a sign of a very organized operation that is efficient in what it does. Bob ran most of the equipment and was on site for the entire job which reflects a well-managed company. The crew was very friendly and was hard workers. Bob stated “he puts his efforts in to taking care of the employees and equipment “this is reflected in the work product that you will receive from this company. The two car drive way was completed in 2 and half hours. After it was completed Bob presents you with a booklet that tells you how to take care of your new driveway that his company put together. We have had the driveway replaced prior and never got anything like this. On the morning Bob called and ask how the driveway was and if any issues to call him this just never happens any more in this country and show how this company is a step above. Also have interaction with the office staff and they were also very professional and helpful. If you need a new driveway and want it done professional and correct this is the company to go to.

Went great. They did a wonderful job. Had a difficult time getting in touch with someone at the company initially, but after that things went very well. Pricing was far better than anywhere else we had gotten quotes from, but the Quality was not sacrificed. We had a very large driveway to be paved . Would highly recommend and would hire again

Dave came out to the property going over the design several times to make sure I was comfortable. This also included removing a stump that would have caused major problems. Robert and the crew showed up and handled themselves very professionally. Being somewhat OCD, I watched the install from start to finish. I am beyond satisfied with all aspects including design, install and price. Thanks for everything guys!

I met with Dave and after going over the job details, he provided me an detailed outline of work proposed along with an estimate before he left. He assured me that they would pitch the driveway so water would not collect in several areas that were currently an issue. After receiving several estimates, I decided to go with American Asphalt. Robert showed up with his crew on Tuesday and reviewed the job with me. Robert was very pleasant and answered several questions I had during the process. Everyone I spoke to was professional and very friendly. They prepared the driveway and brought in some gravel to built up one low area of the driveway. On Wednesday, they completed paving of my 582+ ft driveway in addition to the area in front of my house and garage (~70'x60'). As it rained shortly after they completed, I was able to confirm that the driveway was pitched properly for water drainage. I am very satisfied with the end result and would highly recommend them.

They did an excellent job with a very steep driveway. The crew was great to work with, very professional, great at their jobs and very quality conscious. I would highly recommend them for any paving job.

My big concern was water collecting at the entrance of the garage and also on the driveway itself. Dave assured me that they would pitch the driveway so no water will collect in front of the garage and that all the water would drain off the driveway. He also told me that they would do an end cut into the road at the end of the driveway. This assures a solid depth of asphalt connecting your driveway onto the street. Where as some companies would just "skim coat" the end of your driveway onto the street which would eventually break up. American Paving came thru. They pitched the driveway so no water collected at the entrance of my garage and all the water runs off the driveway. They also did the end cut into the street. You can see where they cut down into the street. The only problem I had was that Dave did not return a few phone calls. There a 2 day delay and I wasn't sure what was going on. But needless to say they showed up on the second day and did work completely. They also stopped by 2 days later to check on the driveway and to see if I was satisfied with the job. I would recommend them to anyone!

Although I was not present at time of work, my neighbor watch intently as he is going to have driveway work done next year. 7 guys came in in the morning, striped out existing lower 3/4. Brought in 9-12 inches of gravel and re-graded. Then surfaced the lower and resurfaced the upper. Neighbor said they worked efficiently and used more than adequate equipment. It looks beautiful. I have recommended them to a friend for his driveway.

He came and I showed him what needed to be done. I signed the contract and gave him a down payment of $500.00 cash. The gentleman that I gave the money to was Dave. He said the job should be done by the end of July.

Very professional.

My company has recently taken over the management of a community of 200+ homes. Prior to our take over, there was a paving fiasco that had left many in the community upset. There was still work left undone and the previous company was not returning our phone and/or email messages. As you can imagine, many were looking at the work left to be done under a lot of scrutiny. After getting several proposals we decided to go with American Asphalt. Everyone on the job site was friendly and VERY professional. We had two projects that needed attention, the first was paving in a cluster of homes that included a roadway, many parking spaces and driveways. The second was a mix up from the previous company that was supposed to put in two parking spaces and only put in one. Due to a miscommunication between myself and the supervisor at American Asphalt, the second job was not quite the way we wanted it. I mentioned my dissatisfaction and Robert immediately rescheduled a time to come back out and fix it, which they promptly did and the work was done exactly as we wanted. I cannot stress enough how satisfied I am with American Asphalt, Robert and his entire crew. The job looks great and homeowners are happy. I will remind our board of directors of their outstanding customer service for all our future paving needs.
