+ -1 moreCalled and left a message regarding an issue we were having with power to the dryer. Received a call back the same afternoon and scheduled a service call for the next morning. Jeff was here right on time the next morning and began to troubleshoot what we initially thought would be a quick breaker replacement. It turned out to be more complex and Jeff went to work troubleshooting. This was not straightforward because we live in an old house that has been updated over the years, so he had to work backwards to figure things out. Jeff exemplified everything you would ask for in a service professional. Courteous, well-spoken, informative, thorough, and knowledgable. If you have an older home his experience will save you lots of headache. Thank you.
Description of Work: We replaced a stacked washer dryer with an all-in-one unit. The stacked units were separate and used separate 120v/240v outlets. I unstacked the dryer (240v) from the washer to clean it and when I went to power it back on, it was dead (or so I thought). Anyway, we purchased a new all-in-one unit as a replacement. The all-in-one unit only had a single 240v plug. When the new unit was delivered and installed, it didn't power up. so we knew we had a problem. We called Dow and they were out the next morning. Turns out the dryer DID work, BUT only when stacked on the washer; it was getting its ground from the stacked washer which is obviously not good! Jeff went the extra mile to troubleshoot this. We will definitely be hiring him for future projects.

Everything he did was well done, on-time and on budget. I have used him since the initial job for other projects and all have been reasonably priced, done on time and with high quality.
Description of Work: Rewired several rooms in an old cabin, installed new fixtures and ceiling fans.

Description of Work: "We hired 3 contractors from Angies list and all 3 turned out to be terrible. | |Although Dow Electric did the job well, He scheduled way too many jobs while doing ours, delayed ours by weeks then blamed us for the delays. Bill (owner) is NOT an honest man at all. I believe I originally gave him a good review but that is before we learned of the lies he was saying behind our backs. We have the emails to prove it. | |Btw, he was the best one out of the 3 so just imagine how BAD the other two were. | |All 3 contractors were rated A's on Angies list, but after what we went through we will NEVER use Angies list again. We are using Home Adviser for our next projects."

Description of Work: The power in my living room wad flickering on and off. Mr. Dow returned my call the same day. He was on time to the minute for the scheduled appt. He located the trouble in the breaker box within 10 minutes. The whole repair took under an hour. His fee was very reasonable.

+ -1 moreHe answered calls or returned them on the day they were made. He showed up when he said he would. He performed an inspection of a short circuit, repaired the problem, inspected for other potential hazards, and suggested further work when needed.
Description of Work: He returned my inquiry call the same day, worked with me to schedule a time of mutual convenience, arrived when stated. He completed a thorough inspection, repaired the defect, and oferred recommendations on any future work. I came from out of state to meet him and it was important that he pay attention to scheduled times. I was pleased with his punctuality, work performance, price, and demeanor while in my home. I would recommend him without reservations.

+ -1 moreI called a number of recommended contractors in the area - I left messages with all. A few promised to call back, but only Dow Electric returned my call within a day. I had a strange and intermittent problem which I described to Jeff Dow and he said he would go check it out. He went to see what was going on and found that it was a problem with the power lines coming into the house. He called the power company and had them come fix the problem. Dow electronic was responsive and went beyond just figuring out what was wrong. Dow took it to the next level and took responsibility for getting it fixed. Jeff Dow is just the type of person you want to work with.
Description of Work: Had a really strange problem with our entire electrical system (old house). Called Dow Electric and he went out to troubleshoot and fix the problem.
