Description of Work: J Carnes Roofing replaced an asphalt roof for us in a very difficult, busy location. They arrived when promised, kept communication appropriate, were clean, courteous and efficient and were within hours of their estimate for completion. Unfortunately when we do installations with snow on the ground there is always a chance a few nails might get lost. I don't remember our conversation from last year but I typically advise our winter install customers to call us when the snow melts to do a final clean if necessary. Description of Work: Replaced roof on antique cape with dormers. Owner Jason carnes was a consummate professional. After some unavoidable weather-related delays his extremely diligent and polite crew finished a complicated job in under two days. He does not permit his crew to smoke on site and my yard and driveway were spotless when the crew departed. Impressively, my old shingles were disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. With just a few exceptions Jason was quick to respond to emails and phone inquiries. Lastly, his was the most reasonable quote I received when pricing the job. I would not hesitate to use his firm again. | |

Hi [member name removed], It was great meeting you! I apologize that we could not perform the work you requested. Our company does premium installations only. So if a potential customer asks us to perform subpar work to stay within a budget, we have to consider our reputation as a company when making a decision whether or not we want to accept the job. I do not feel comfortable tying into a roof with 3-4 layers of existing roofing. The nails on the cap shingle simply would not penetrate the roof deck and with your home so close to the ocean those shingles would be vulnerable to wind storms.
