Dave did a beautiful job on finishing a small room in our basement where we wanted to put a small hot tub. We didn't really know exactly how it should look, so Dave made great suggestions for use of waterproof/water resistant materials. All we had to do was pick the paint color. It turned out just like we wanted it, and the hot tub is now in and working. Dave was on schedule and on price. In addition, he offered to do another small job for free because he had an extra day between jobs. We could not have been more pleased with his work.

I had used Dave's services once before while living in Chester, to have a screen door put in, and that seemed to go fine although he did have to return to fix a small issue because it hadn't been done correctly the first time. I called upon him again when I purchased a home in Derry. There appeared to be a leak coming from the kitchen sink and I wanted it repaired before physically moving into the house with my family. I had a lead time of about 2 weeks. Dave came over and took a look and said it didn't appear to be a leak, just that a piece was loose and he tightened it. He checked out all the other issues and said he would be happy to do the work and gave me verbal estimate, telling me he would follow up with a written estimate. I didn't hear from him so I called and he said he was about to have surgery and would get back to me. About two weeks passed and we moved into the Derry home. I called Dave and told him the kitchen sink was indeed leaking and that I needed it fixed. He said he would come two days later and asked for the address again. The day he was to show up, he wasn't there at his appointed time so I gave him a call after waiting about a half hour. He said he was on his way. I waited and as I was looking out the window I saw what appeared to be his van driving past my home. Sure enough, although he had already been to my home once before, he needed me to call and walk him through the steps to where my home was physically located. Once at my home he looked at the leak and told me it would cost X amount. Mind you, I had literally JUST moved and spent the entire week cleaning the previous home and making sure everything was out of there. Now I had been at the new home for approximately two days and was far from having all of the boxes unpacked nor knowing where everything was. Needless to say, I couldn't locate my checkbook to write him a check (for less than $100) to buy what he needed to make the repairs. I explained this to him and told him that I could get the money to him the next day but I couldn't find the check book (I wasn't able to use my ATM card because there was an issue with it; due to the move I hadn't had time to get to the bank for them to give me a new card). Dave was irritated and left, but told me he would be back in two days to do the work. Of course, he never showed, nor did he call. When I called him, he told me he would get back to me after the 4th of July weekend. Of course, he never got back to me. Thank fully, I found someone else that afternoon who came over the next day, fixed the leak and put up all of the shelving, so I wasn't completely screwed. What angered me is that Dave should have been up front and honest. He could have just said "Listen, I just wasted my time driving over here and you can't even pay me. So I'm sorry, but I won't be able to come back". Dave, YOU wasted MY time by having two weeks prior to MY move to make repairs and you just blew it off until I physically moved into my house, when again, you left me hanging. You also apparently did not know what your were doing with regard to the plumbing issue.Would I recommend you to others? Heck no.
