Description of Work: He charged a minimum 4 hour charge for a small job without telling me that was how he charged. Because I left the check for him so he could do the job while I wasn't home I didn't know this, but found out from my son that he was only there for about an hour. The bill said 4 hours. He made a big deal about giving me a "discount" but then charged the 4 hour minimum charge for a 1 hour job. He also didn't align the door strike plate properly, so that when the door shut we had to pull it open a bit in order to lock the deadbolt. I had to take the lock plate off and re-align it myself. For such a simple job he should have done it right.

He was clear about money, how much it would cost and when payment was due. He was always willing to take suggestions or change the plans if necessary. His work was meticulous. Really a fantastic experience working with him and I plan to use him for projects big and small in the future. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Removed built in desk and cabinets from one room, altered built-in entertainment center in another, installed TV mount, installed drywall and trim.

Description of Work: Added two new windows to the front of the house. One being a long rectangular window that will bring light to our stairways and a second in our downstairs guest bathroom. Joe is very prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. He was patient and diligent in working around our family activities.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. The job was started on the agreed upon date which in my experience does not always happen. He was punctual and showed up when he said he would. He was very pleasant and checked with us frequently to see if we were pleased with his work and his progress. He always left things neat and left no debris for us to deal with. He used quality materials. I expect this porch to last a very long time. I would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: Removed old front porch on a duplex and installed a new one with railings and 2 staircases. Also added a set of stairs off the back 3 season room.

+ 1 moreJoe was an exceptional find and we are thrilled with the work he did for us. The floors he installed are beautiful and were flawlessly installed. The built in bookcases and also exceptional and add a great deal to the room. His work is exceptional, he is prompt and very professional. Joe not only did an exceptional job but he finished sooner than he expected and under budget. Additionally, he was wonderful in accommodating our toddler and made time to do a few odd jobs for us as well. We cannot recommend JT Carpentry enough.

+ 2 moreI have used Joe on an hourly basis rather than having him quote a job in advance.. He is an ecceptionally hard worker and I always feel that I am getting good value for the $. He is completely honest and fair with his hours and I recommend himwithout any reservations
Description of Work: Joe has built multiple decks for me and performed a multitude of general carpentry repairs, both at the framing and finish level. He has additionally performed a major apartment remodel which involved demolition, framing, drywall, trim and doors, cabinets, counters, and pretty much whatever carpentry services were needed to get the job done.

I will not do painting, electrical or plumbing...but am willing to work with any of these contractors.
