I wanted to replace an old cracked kitchen sink with a stainless steel one. Mr. Munson came to the house in September 2012, and told me my kitchen cabinet was not large enough for the stainless steel sink I'd bought; he said there wasn't room for its clips. He told me to buy a high-quality cast iron sink & faucet from the Granite Group. So I did; the sink was in-stock. When my carpenter, who was installing the counter top, saw the cast iron sink, he said it was so heavy that it would break the cabinet; he said a stainless sink would fit into the cabinet. So I returned the cast iron sink, and bought another stainless steel sink. On 14 November 2012, Rich (who works with Dennis Munson) installed the stainless steel sink & faucet & a dishwasher. Mr. Munson stopped by afterwards, criticized the quality of the sink and the Granite Group faucet, and told me that I would be charged a 45% re-stocking fee for the cast iron sink. Only after he'd left, did I notice that the front edge of the sink was not tight to the counter top. Several days later, Mr. Munson's receptionist called to see if I were satisfied with the work. I told her that the dishwasher & faucet were great, but that I was not happy with the way the sink was installed; she replied that she wouldn't ask me to take their satisfaction survey, then. The Granite Group did not charge me a re-stocking fee. When I received Mr. Munson's bill for $935, it didn't show a re-stocking fee, so I paid it quickly. I should have waited until Mr. Munson returned to install the sink properly. Over the next month & a half, I called Mr. Munson three times & left messages, asking him to return & install the sink. He never returned my calls. In late January, I called another local plumber, who successfully installed the sink flat to the counter top.
Description of Work: Installed a kitchen sink, faucet, & dishwasher.

I am very sad to write this review because I like Dennis. I really trusted him and he really let me down. I am a single mother who lives paycheck to paycheck. Dennis knows this. I feel like I was taken for a ride. He was punctual, clean and did a good job in the beginning. Later, some serious problems occured and they were explained away with excuses. I found another serious problem later. Also, the final bill for one of the projects was 3 1/2 times as much as the estimate!!! Without clearing it with me first!!! First major problem: I had a new bathtub installed to replace an old, cracked tub. The new tub was not leveled. It may have been tilted on purpose so that the tub would drain better. The problem with this is that the tub and surround were "caulkless", so the pieces need to fit tightly together. With the tilt in the tub, there is a 1/2 inch gap at the end where the showerhead is!!! Dennis told me that the walls were warped and that is why there was a gap at that end. I can plainly see that if the tub were level, there would be no gradual gap from the back end to the front end. He said he would come back and caulk the gap, but never did. Big issue #2: Dennis gave me an estimate of $1000 for the bathroom remodel and then presented me with a $3,600 bill. I had to write one of those checks that the credit companies mail out to pay him. He moved some baseboard heat in the bathroom that did not need to be moved. Big issue #3: the new section of baseboard heat in this same bathroom does not have fins on it! So it is a fancy, encased pipe that does nothing! The bathroom is CCCCCCOLD now! (smaller) issue #4: I called Dennis to help with a leaky outdoor faucet. He wouldn't return my call. I have never complained about the previous work. I can only assume that the job wasn't big enough for him to deal with. I have since called him about other plumbing issues - and to return my house key. I asked that he at least call me back to let me know if he is too busy. No returned call.
Description of Work: Repair boiler, move baseboard heat, remodel bathroom, add shower to 1/2 bath, separate house heating system into 2 zones.
