MKJ were professional, timely, and a pleasure to work with. Although our initial building inspection failed (due to a confusion between building codes), MKJ went above and beyond in assisting us with remediating the issue to ensure we passed.

MKJ was efficient, courteous, and Priced well under what other providers quoted. They were great to work with.

John was so fast with communication, and was very flexible with time. He came out and did a thorough walk through our home explaining exactly what he would do in each room. He was very friendly and didn't talk down to us. His quote came in right about what other contractors gave us, so we felt it was a very fair price. Did not end up using him because another contractor had more availability to start sooner and we had a tight timeline, but other than that I definitely would have hired him.

It all went wonderfully. We'd been lead to think that releasing would be horrible, but MKJ made it painless. They got everything done on time (tenants were expecting a baby) and passed re-inspection on first attempt. Extremely honest guy; saved us money in ways we wouldn't have thought of without compromising on outcome. Tenants are very happy with the new windows, too! Not as much communication as my husband is used to (e.g. no blow by blow updates) and not a particularly "slick" operation, but good solid trustworthy work for a very reasonable price. Glad we'll never have to delead again, but if we did it would be with MKJ!

We had 7 different firms stop by to take a look and give us an estimate. MKJ construction was the last firm we scheduled to come by, and thank god we did. We ended up hiring them, because everything fell into place: they had the lowest cost estimate, the most and best reviews on Angie's list, and they had already done work on a colleague's condo, so we knew we could trust them. We also liked that while others quoted us a higher price for just scraping, MKJ replaced the window and door casings, as well as windows (which we wanted, so that dust doesn't get generated through the process). John stopped by first to give an initial estimate, and a couple days later his colleague Darren stopped by to take measurements for windows, and be able to give us an exact quote, so they were the only ones who stopped by twice. Throughout the whole time, John was very reachable, both by email and phone (call or text), and I have never had any issues getting in touch. They were able to fit us in their schedule very soon after the estimate, just about 3 weeks later, as we needed to order a special window for the bathroom which no one carries in stock and takes longer to arrive. They said it would take 5-7 business days for us to be able to move back in, which included their work, as well as the final inspection and waiting for the report, and indeed, we didn't need to wait any longer, even though we asked them not to work on one of the days as a favor to our neighbors. They did a great job, exactly what they promised, and everything looked great, we got new wood window and door frames, a couple replacement windows, and everything looked professionally done. We found the condo as clean as we had left it. Overall, we were very happy with the whole process. Learning that we needed to delead and not knowing how much it could cost, was a scary and stressful first stage, but after finding MKJ and hiring them, our worries went away and we knew we would be in good hands. We were happy to know that our place would finally be ready for the baby we are expecting. We would definitely go to them again if we needed any deleading in a future place, or recommend them to any of our friends that need to delead.

Lowest estimate and passed the lead test and received the certification. I would have given then all A's but they broke a water pipe on a Friday afternoon that cost me 350$ to fix and also tore apart clothes dryer duct work.

We had a 6x8-foot patch of tile flooring that needed removing, primarily because it tested positive for lead, but also in order to uncover wide-plank flooring that we wanted to refinish. We spoke with John and he visited the site the next day. He provided us with a $1,000 quote, which we accepted and scheduled the work within a week. The job finished much quicker than expected, and John gave us a discount of $200. I've worked with several contractors and rarely have I been offered the chance to pay less that the quoted price.

They finished the work on time. I am very satisfied. very good responsibility, reliable.

John previously did de-leading on our house. They came back a year later when I asked them to help with a very old door latch that was not working. It turned out that the door had to be shaved at the top, the screws retightened, and the catch plate moved slightly. They did a great job at a nominal charge. They were great to work with again and excellent carpenters. I highly recommend them.

needed the work done prior to moving into new house. Replaced a door and repainted frame, scraped outside patio, replaced basement windows. Reinspection was acceptable and in compliance. Only hiccup was a day delay in the re-inspection and a unique sized storm door to special order that we didn't get done, but overall John was really easy to work with, flexible in scheduling and got the job done quickly so that we could move into a house with a letter of compliance, which I wanted since we have two young kids in a typical old boston home. I talked to a few others but John was most flexible in our time frame.

John is great. He gave us an estimate in a few hours after we called. He started and finished right on the day he promised. He also took care of additional work which was not listed on the initial lead paint inspection report without extra charge. I definitely recommend him to anyone who want to delead.

We bought our new house, had it tested for lead paint and learned that it needed a little work to de-lead. Unfortunately, most of the big de-leaders had high minimums well over what the work should have cost. Our lead inspector recommended MKJ and we're happy he did! We first called John, the owner of MKJ midweek and we met him that Friday to give him the official lead inspection, go over the work to be done and get an estimate. We stressed that it needed to be done asap as we had other companies ready to come in to do different projects, and we didn't want to postpone the work longer than necessary. He got us a quote quickly, and we scheduled him to start work the following weekend. He came out early on the following Thursday and had the work completely done by Sunday! His crew was clean, quite and respectful of our home. Darren, one of the de-leaders with the company, went out of his way to find a quality closet door to match our 1930's home, and was able to install the original hardware onto the new door- we're very pleased! Reinspection happened on Monday and everything passed! We're relieved to now have our home certified de-leaded, and we're grateful to MKJ for the quick and quality work at a great price.
