I hired Groundhog Landscaping for general weed and feed service for my lawn. Their machine leaked gasoline all over my lawn. They came out to “fix” my lawn and made a repair. Meanwhile they are sending me a bill for the service they performed. I told them I would not pay it until the lawn was fixed. 10 weeks after they have not fixed my lawn and it is a complete mess. It was $450 for the year. Everyone has been delightful to work with. They come and do their job, friendly and leave a good report of what they have done. They write it all out and if there's any follow up. You know exactly what was done that day.

Horrible. They destroyed my newly laid sod.... over 300 sq ft and did nothing to fix it. They said it would grow back.... it didn't and they never fixed it... I had to do it myself.

They do well but there's always an issue. I have to call them but they don't get back to me. Their customer service is a hassle. They take care of the commercial work for snow removal then do the residential.

I'm very passionate about the appearance and health of my lawn. I've tried just about every lawn care company out there and have never used any for more than a single year because they have always disappointed. This is my first year with Groundhog and all I can say is "wow"! I will definitely be using Groundhog next year. My search for a competent company is finally over! My lawn has never looked so good. I can reach out to the owner of the company at any time to chat about issues. I like that very personal touch. Did I mention that my lawn has never looked so good? And the price is very reasonable for such fantastic results (the cost is usually much less, but I required several fungicide treatments that adds a bit to the cost. The results were excellent and well worth the extra cost).

I had a number of issues around the house I wanted to address and had to chase Paul for a quote. When I received the quote, I identified only two for completion (removing a Juniper and trimming foundation plants) due to what I thought were very high quotes for most of the work. I would have preferred to be home when the work was to be completed, but received a call late Wednesday afternoon telling me the job would be completed the next day (7/16). On 7/16, I received a call at work with questions from the worker, I could not respond in time and when I did return the call, the work had been completed. The Juniper, suckers and debris were removed completely and with this job I am satisfied. Unfortunately, the foundation plants are not even or symmetrical and with the removal of the Juniper, the poor trimming is very obvious. A pair of gloves and a headset were left on the lawn and porch. On 7/17 I left a voicemail with Paul to express my dissatisfaction with the foundation plants. On 8/1, I reviewed my dissatisfaction in a letter and picture of the plants to Groundhog. On 8/7 in the morning, Paul called to say he would send a crew by noon and I had to be there. Since I work in Boston and was at work, I could not accommodate that time. I honestly didn't know what could be done at this point since you can't "cut up" and suggested they complete some other work to make up for the foundation plants. Paul told me he needed to speak to Dave and would get back. On 8/15 I left a message for Dave. On 8/21 I spoke with the receptionist, outlining my dissatisfaction and reminding them the gloves and head set were still on my porch. The receptionist assured me she would speak to someone other than Dave and Paul and I would receive a return call. Never received that return call and the gloves and headset are still sitting on my porch. There was a complete lack of communication from Groundhog during this job and extremely poor customer service. I am very unhappy with the foundation plants and will need to wait years for the smaller foundation plants to grow enough to be properly trimmed.

Excellent yard cleanup and mowing. Very responsive when there is an issue.

Their estimator Dave Audet came out very quickly after I called and gave me a quote that I knew was a very fair price. The installation crew headed by Kevin put the walkway and granite steps in over a couple of days and I couldn't be happier. Kevin was extremely professional, friendly and hardworking and obviously cared about getting it right and had a very positive attitude about his employer which was very refreshing. Can't wait to find another project for these guys to do.

It went great! Pool area looks very nice. They back filled two sides of pool, fixed tire marks from pool installer and seeded everything. Spread river rock all around pool. Grass is growing in nicely.

Helped us revive an old system that hadn't been used, including replacement of three valves (including finding one that was installed improperly and not marked), replaced eleven sprinkler heads ( I supplied), and overall spent about five hours of labor on the system. Works like a dream now --- would definitely recommend.

In the beginning of July 2012, Dave gave us the best estimate that we had received. He described how Groundhog Landscaping would come in remove all the moss, bring in a considerable amount of loam, re-sculp the area and apply hydro-seed to the entire 5,000 sq ft area. During our initial meeting Dave asked when we would like the project to be done. We decided on September 1. On August 28 Paul, the truck driver, and Ray, the landscaper and bobcat operator started the project. I must say watching the workman from Groundhog Landscaping was like watching poetry in motion. Their performance from start to finish far exceeded our expectations. On August 30, Paul and Ray returned and sprayed the entire area with hydro-seed. We really didn't know what to expect. Paul told us to keep it damp and apply a starter fertilizer in 14 days and then another application of starter fertilizer 30 days from then. So here we are on Sept 11, 15 days after the project began, and we have mowed the lawn for the first time. The lawn is absolutely beautiful and we have everyone at Groundhog Landscaping to thank for a fabulous job. Everyone was very professional, polite and courteous. We feel very fortunate to have made their acquaintance and will of course recommend them to all of our friends and neighbors.

They came on time, and did their job by cutting off the offending trunk and branches, but they did not go out of their way to ask us if we wanted the debris removed or any other service related to cutting down the tree (they left most of the trunk where it was). Also did not come to the door to announce their arrival and departure; first knowledge we had that they arrived was when we heard the chainsaw going. Job took all of 15 minutes, and we were charged $85 for that. That's probably about the going rate for tree service in southern NH.

Overall went well. They did a great job and they arrived on time and were very professional. The only caveat is that they must be very busy because after the estimate they could only come 3 weeks later- speaks to a lot of work and satisfied customers but I was anxious to make the yard look good!

I would refer their services to other people. I would use them again in the future.

It has been a few weeks and we already have grass growing in our yard. The crews that came out were excellent. They were very professional and answered all our questions. Our yard and surroundings were left neat and clean.

They are excellent. Their service was excellent and the people were extremely attentive to details. They cleaned up after themselves; they did an excellent job; and their price was phenomenal. So, I would highly recommend them to anyone. Their price was reasonable; their people were very polite; and they went over and above than what I had expected. They did the most wonderful job. I was very pleased. I will use them again in the future.

This company has been professional and excellent from start to finish. Regular phone calls from the staff kept the lawn groomed at my request all summer long. I highly recommend Groundhog for lawn work in NH.
