Description of Work: This was the 2nd time I used Daigle. The first time I used them they were late and a few days after the job was done the pipes were leaking. Understandable so I tried them again. I set an appointment for someone to help find out why the bathtub drain kept plugging up. The day of the appointment I'm sitting there and they didn't show up, so I called only to be accused of having the wrong day. Now I put it in my google calendar the minute they told me the day. End of story, they came and cleared the drain and charged me for an emergency call. Then a few weeks later sent me a quote of about $3000 to fix the drain and it included details that were completely wrong. Never again.

Dear Mr. [Members Name], We take great pride in our work and customer satisfaction is our top priority. We wish you had brought your concerns to our attention sooner. We have reviewed our records and regarding the October 2014 service call, there seems to be some confusion. Our technician responded to your complaint of “slow drains”. Where the plumbing was original to the house and dated back to the 1930’s, we were able to clear the drains temporarily. In order to prevent future blockages, the piping would need to be updated as well as reconfigured. This was reviewed with you and pictures were taken in order to provide you with a proper quote. The fee for the service call was billed at our regular rate, not overtime. In addition, a $20.00 credit was given at that time of service. We understand that being faced with plumbing issues and updating existing systems can be overwhelming and frustrating. We are here to help and available to go over the recommended work presented to you. Please feel free to contact us at anytime. Sincerely, Elaine Coetzee

Description of Work: They repaired a leak in the septic drain to the house and unclogged the septic drain which was backing up into the house, dug out the septic system to verify the clog was cleared. The technician was punctual, professional and polite, went the extra to make sure clog was cleared. There is an office person who schedules your appointment and they have emergency service if needed. Price is average but worth it to have the job done promptly and the problem fixed. Would use their services again, and would recommend to others.

Description of Work: Lowered a heating pipe below the existing floor level after I had moved a wall between the kitchen and dining room. Warren Daigle had come and given me an estimate the day before, and was able to schedule the work for the next day. James and a co-worker arrived the next morning a few minutes early, discussed the work I wanted accomplished and got right to work. They did a very neat and professional job and explained what they had done. I was pleased with both their work and their attitude. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

Terrible, as you can read.
Description of Work: We called Daigle about 10 years ago when we first bought the house because they were nearby and we thought the "neighborhood" business would treat us right. They can in to service our furnace and told us it was too old and could not be serviced. We would have to replace the whole system. We got another opinion from Fuller Oil and we were told that they were completely wrong. The furnace was easilly serviced and we were told that despite its age, it was a great furnace and was running great. Recently, we were calling for a yearly service and Fuller was booked 6 weeks out. We could tell the furnace needed a cleaning as it was sputtering while running. After calling around, we ended up calling Daigle out of despiration. Guess what? They came in, told us the furnace was unsafe and could not be serviced. They also claimed to call the fire department and said they had to "red tag" (they used a hand written piece of paper for the tag) and shut down the furnace. It IS the middl of winter, mind you, and they shut off our furnace! We managed to call in another person the next day who cleaned the furnace in an hour and told us it was running great and Daigle was full of you know what. These guys tried to rob us twice and the furnace is still running great. DO NOT USE THEM!

We were contracted by this customer on January 14th, of this year to clean and service their boiler and we scheduled the requested service within three days. Our technician began the cleaning process, but stopped when he noted two safety hazards. The exhaust vent length exceeds the allowed distance and the vent is enclosed in a combustible chase. As the last licensed tenchinicans to work on the system, we would be liable for failing to correct either hazard. It is our procedure to red-tag any system that presents imminent danger to the residents. We provided a quote the following morning for replacement of the boiler and relocating the new one in order to correct the hazards. It makes little financial sense to attempt to relocate a 24 year old boiler, so we limited our quote to replacement only. It should be noted that the customer had a secondary source of heat in use, namely a wood stove. The protrayal of us leaving them "without heat in the middle of winter" is a bit misleading. Homeowners have descretion about whether to comply with the National Fire Protection Association code. For us as licensed service technicians, its not optional.

Mike from Daigle Plumbing came to our house on two occasions. I was having my kitchen remodeled, and during demolition, it was discovered that the shut-off valve for the sink was stuck, so the sink could not be removed. When Mike attempted to shut the water off for the house, he found that the main shut-off valve was also stuck and would have to be replaced. Because of some complications (inaccessability to the building shut-off valve), the job took longer than expected and the charge for that day was around $300. More than I expected, but under the circumstances within reason. After the kitchen was installed, we needed the new sink hooked up, as well as the dishwasher. I called Nate at Daigle to ask for a ballpark estimate, and he quoted me $300-$350. It seemed a bit high, but I was anxious to get my plumbing hooked up after weeks without a functioning kitchen so I agreed. Mike came (30 minutes past the promised time of 8:15 am) and did the work which didn't seem to pose too many problems (the dishwasher had been connected by the builder when it shouldn't have, and it took him an extra 15 minutes to disconnect it so it could be moved). When he presented me with a bill for $516, my jaw dropped. The labor charges were accurate, but I was billed $190 for parts and supplies. For example, the basket strainer for the sink was $29.50. Had I known, I would have purchased it through Amazon for $15.75. I also found out that the contractor price for that strainer is only $7.50! I can only assume that all the other parts and supplies were similarly marked up. When I told Mike I was quoted $200 less, he told me Nate shouldn't have told me that. I called Nate, and he said that it was only an estimate, and that sometimes there are extra charges that can't be predicted and that I was pretty much stuck paying it whether I liked it or not. So, I wound up paying over $800 to have a sink and dishwasher disconnected and reconnected, as well as having a main shut-off valve replaced. I will not be calling Daigle in the future, nor will I recommend them to anyone I know.

Mike arrived right on time. He got right to work and tackled each job, cleaning up after himself as he moved from one location to another. We had already purchased the faucet we wanted in the kitchen and after a heroic struggle with the removal of old rusted in set and drain, he had it back together in no time. On completion of each task he reviewed the work done and invited us to try out the new fixtures. He was fast, friendly and very professional. He also enjoyed interacting with our dogs!

Pretty well stated above. Excellent.
Description of Work: They had replaced a toliet flange and set a toliet on new tile floor. Everything was perfect and approximately one week later the toliet developed a wobble. After checking the internet found this sometimes happen because the wax ring shrinks after being set. I called and asked about it. The service manager told me he would have someone stop and fix it. They showed up again on time added a couple small shims and caulked the toliet. NO CHARAGE! Love a company that stands behind the work they do. Have already recommended them to a few friends.

We had tile a bathroom floor and when I went to reset the toilet the flange on the floor was bad. If I did this job myself it would have taken me 4-8 hours and numerous trips to home depot. Since most plumbers front load the first hour ask them to change out the toilet flange, set the toilet, and replace a hose connection on the back of the house. Sent them email on Sunday they contact me on Monday morning and told they could handle it and have someone here by 11 AM or so. He did arrive a little after 11 AM but I didn’t consider it important since I work at home. Showed him the work and Mike started. In an hour and half all of it was completed in quality fashion done by a true professional. Called the service manager immediately after and told him “I may never do plumbing work again!” Daigle will be my plumber from now on.
Description of Work: The job had three parts to it. 1. Cut out an existing damaged PVC toilet flange and install a new. 2. Reset the toilet. 3. Remove a broken hose connection and put on a new one.

I checked all areas as best because the company did all the work in a timely manner. The plumber, Mike, worked the entire time he was here and was always polite and answered all my questions. I chose Daigle plumbing as I am new to the development. I had asked other residents for a recommendation and had not gotten any. I went to Angie's list as a friend had been successful in using it in the past. I was very pleased and will use Angie's list again.
