He worked to replace the tank parts on the first toilet which originally was not flushing very well.  He announced it was complete and moved onto the second.  I went to flush the first toilet and now it won't shut off.  I had him stop work on the second toilet and go back to the first toilet and work on adjusting it and testing it until we both agreed it was fixed.  Now he was working on the second toilet which originally had a dripping sound in the tank.  He said he had completed replacing the tank parts on that one so now went to stand there while he flushed it quite a few times and we agreed it seemed to be OK so he left.  Now I go and use the toilet and sometimes it's fine and sometimes it won't shut off so I have to jiggled the handle to shut it off.  I can also occasionally (about once an hour) hear the water in the toilet running and then turning off.    I gave it a day and it still was running so I called again and they came back.  He made more adjustments and it seemed to be working so he left.  Now I didn't have to jiggle the handle anymore but about an hour later I heard it starting the whole business of running again.  I ended up hiring another plumber (Happy Home Plumbing and Heating) recommended by a woman I had just met who found the problem in about 30 seconds.  He took out a knife and trimmed a piece on the flapper where it was occasionally getting hung up and caused water to slowly drain out of the tank (therefore making the toilet turn on to refill the tank).  There was my mystery running sounds.  When I told him the history of the toilet repairs he refused payment for coming and told me to send him a check for a $75 service call in a day or two if the toilet was fixed.  He said if it still runs he couldn't take payment as he didn't fix anything.  I have not heard  the running in two days so he is getting his check.     

These guys came to me highly referred by someone else. They did a nice job installing a new exterior faucet and repairing an older one. They installed about 2 feet of copper pipe and a few valves in a couple hours and charged me $500. I felt it was a little high, but the work was satisfactory. I then asked them to give me an estimate on renovating a bathroom, a 7' by 9' guest bathroom. Removing an old shower unit, vanity and toilet and install a clawfoot tub, new sink and toilet. They would do all the demo and redo the floor and wainscotting, then install the new fixtures. He quoted me just under $10,000! That didn't even include the fixtures. I would have to provide the tub, vanity, counter top, toilet, flooring and wainscotting and anything else. That would cost about $3500-4000 more. I almost laughed, thinking he made a mistake, but he was serious. A 66 sq. ft. room for around $14,000? I don't think so. We decided to do most of the work ourselves. We did the demo, new floor and wainscotting in a few days. I called Carson back to see if he would give me an estimate on just the rough plumbing. He never called back. We found another plumber who did the rough plumbing for $900 and it looks great. I will not bother ever contacting Carson again.

They told us that they were backed-up, but they ended up making it out the same day. We were very impressed. They are very reasonable in their prices, thorough, and clean. We have used them several times; we have been very satisfied each time. They are a great company to work with.
