The Country Picker

Very good to work with, I would hire them again. Phil, the owner, was very responsive. Ron, the job foreman on my job, was excellent to work with. Workers were very polite.

I can't say enough in praising Country Picker. Needing to move my Mom's belongings from Southern Maine to Englewood, Florida, I did my due diligence and obtained quotes from 6 different moving companies located in Maine and New Hampshire, one of them being Country Picker out of Conway New Hampshire. All of the moving company representatives made their appearances at the storage unit where my Mom's items were stored including Phil and Tina from Country Picker. I thought it was pretty cool that the company owner and office manager personally met with me to put together an estimate for this move and as a plus, they were both down to earth and genuinely nice people, unlike all of the other moving company representatives, who all seemed to be in a hurry and made me feel like I was wasting their time with a less than full truck load of goods to move. Phil and Tina treated me like, my load of goods was the most important job they would have all year. After all of the move estimates had been received, the Country Picker estimate beat out all of the rest by many hundreds dollars. With reservations, I went with them hoping that there wasn't a reason they were so much cheaper, and I set up a date and time for loading the truck. At the exact day and time of the appointment, Dave and Jerry showed up at the storage unit to load the goods. Dave and Jerry were unbelievable in the care they gave to the wrapping and documentation of each item they loaded into the truck. They seemed to really enjoy their jobs and were a pleasure to talk to as they went about carefully loading my Mom's items up for their long trip to Florida. Three days later, the Country Picker truck arrived in Englewood and quickly unloaded my Mom's goods exactly as she requested, with not one scratch, ding or dent to be found. Fast forward one month, I received a call from Phil the owner of Country Picker stating he and one of his drivers were concerned for Mom's well-being as his driver who had made the delivery in Englewood had received a phone call from my Mom who has early stages of dementia stating that she was afraid there were problems up in Maine with her family as she couldn't reach anyone by phone and she didn't know if he had any contact with her family in Maine. Now that right there speaks volumes about the integrity and personal commitment of this little moving company from Conway, New Hampshire, you won’t find this level of customer commitment with Allied, Mayflower and United Van Lines. Phil, you and your crew are the best and I will not hesitate to recommend Country Picker to anyone looking for an affordable and reputable moving company!

This company I HIGHLY recommend! The owner Phil was fantastic and Extremely accommodating. I had special medical needs and he stepped right up in my time of need in the middle of this move. He explained each phase of the move,what to expect and was very reassuring and comforting. He was more like a friend than just a company hire. His lead man Dave was totally awesome!!!! He took control like the professional he was and gave clear concise instructions to his team of movers. All were polite and efficient. I would definitely use them again if I had to move(I pray I never do.I love my new home:) Thank you so much Country Pickers for getting us to our new home safely and ALL of our possessions in perfect condition.

Everything about their service stood out to me. They were very good at coming out and giving us an estimate. They explained everything and did an excellent job. They did show up when they were supposed to and did what they were supposed to do. When they came out, they gave us an extra couple days so we could arrive ahead of them. Their quality of service was good. There was very, very minimal damage.

On the first day they showed up on time with a good sized truck. Only two movers came instead of the three stated in the contract. They worked hard and steadily and never bumped a wall or door as they moved things out. The price was very good for the job of moving out of a home and into another over two days. The workers were very polite, strong and stable hard workers. The next day of the move they were about an hour late and again had only two movers not three. They ended up calling a third man. I guess that my and quot; I wish it were better...' would be if they had done everything outlined in the contract. For example the contract said that the furniture would be shrinkwrapped and it wasn't. They said three guys would come and there were two. (They ended up calling a third person on the second day of the move.) But overall a good experience. They provided some of the boxes that we needed and were listed in the contract, but not all of the boxes. They said the box shipment hadn't arrived at their headquarters.

They were very good in taking me last minute, as I had major issues with the mover I originally signed up with. However, the delivery date was postponed a little bit, due to issues with the weather. Also, when they arrived, the driver was very late, and was hoping I could take my delivery at 9 p.m. I explained I couldn't because the storage facility was closed at that time, and we'd take care of it in the morning. He seemed to be fine with it, but was a bit late, due to some confusion on directions to the facility. I called him on his cell phone, and had him follow me to the facility. When we got there, there was an issue because the spot I reserved turned out to be not big enough, so I would need a bigger space. He was in a time crunch, and had to get back on the road ASAP. I was in a bind, because I was by myself and couldn't do it all on my own. I felt they could have been more accommodating due to the circumstances.They also had banged up some of my very nice furniture, which I told them I intended to put on file. They said they would take care of it when I was ready to have the repairs taken care of, even if that was a year from now, which is very nice, but would rather have had some taken off the bill to begin with.

VERY WELL

I was looking for someone to move several large pieces of furniture from an old house in N.H., to my home in Maine. I asked for a "guesstimate" and was given a price range between $275.00 and $600.00 whice seemed reasonable. The guys showed up on time, were professional, didn't slack off, and got the job done quickly. They brought the furniture and boxes to the destination and unloaded everything quickly and neatly. The biggest cost to this move was the mileage/gas which was more than the price for the actual loading and unloading. I asked how much they charge an hour, and he said it was $115.00, and a flat rate for travel. It took exactly 1 hour for labor, so the price I was charged for mileage/gas was $201.25 (for 1.75 hours) Kearsarge to Bridgton is 45 minutes TOPS, so I felt this was a little steep, but can't complain because it would have cost us about the same to rent a U-haul and do it ourselves, plus the backache. Overall, money well spent. Thanks guys!

It went very well. They had a four-man crew working hard and efficiently. They were polite as well. It was very important to us that we did not have any damage to the walls since they were newly painted. The movers were very careful during the process and avoided any damage to the walls and woodwork.
