Old Yankee Tree Service was highly recommended to me by my brother and sister-in-law. They had the company remove several trees from their property and were pleased with the work that was performed. I was as well, but the necessity of my project took on greater importance after a terrible ice storm. The owner of the business, Jeffrey Dearborn, came out to my house the weekend after Thanksgiving to take a look at the property and to provide an estimate. He seemed very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Jeff also stated he would be out to perform the work within a week or two when his schedule permitted and after the ground had become a little more frozen. However, before he could come out to do the work, the ice storm struck and one-half of a huge maple tree fell on the back of the house (and onto a new roof that was just installed one week beforehand)! All the same, Jeff was very responsive in coming over to survey the damage despite the state of emergency (downed trees and power lines, impassable roads, etc.) that existed in the area at the time. In fact, he came out three more times to tackle the issues. The first time was to brace the part of the tree that was on the house because the ground was too soft to handle his heavy equipment. The following two days, he took down the trees that were initially planned for removal plus two trees that were damaged in the storm (including the one which partly ended up on the house). The job ended up costing more than expected, but more work was performed than we had envisioned because of the storm damage. Suffice it to say that Old Yankee Tree did an excellent job removing the trees, being careful about my property, and easing my mind given the weather calamity we'd just been through. At my request, they even left the small parts of some of the trees so that I could cut them up into firewood come springtime.
