+ -1 moreThey installed a new boiler using existing pipe and furnace enclosure but charged the same money as new furnace; plus they still owe me the warranty discount refund from the furnace manufacturer. I question the integrity of TCC.

Description of Work: Last summer my split AC system stopped blowing cold air, so I called this company. The service technician told me that the reading he took on the condenser was "in the negatives" which meant that I had little to no freon left in the system. He explained that this meant I had a leak somewhere. Option One was to charge the system and then test it to see where the leak was. This would cost $2000, but most likely the leak was in a part that was no longer available. Option Two was to replace the entire system for $8000. Since I didn't want to waste $2000, I decided to bite the bullet and get the new system installed. Fortunately, they couldn't do the install for a week and a half, and another contractor that was doing work for me put me in contact with another HVAC guy. He came and told me the only issue was a dirty filter and the system was working fine otherwise. He showed me the gauge reading that was supposedly "in the negatives" which it most definitely was not. The reading was in the normal range. Thank god for honest people. But Total Climate Control is definitely not in that category. They should be ashamed. I almost wasted $8000. Stay far away from this company!!!

+ -1 moreI called into total climate control today to have my hot water mix valve replaced. I already knew this was my problem and stated this to the receptionist. She told me it would be $94 to have the service tech out to my house. I accepted as I assumed they would come to my house to fix my valve. The technician arrived at my house, as I greeted him he asked what the problem was. I told him I needed a mix valve replaced, immediately he told me he couldn't do it today but to let him see it. After showing him he went to his truck, after a few minutes came back to my door and gave me a quote for $640. I laughed and asked if he was joking, as the repair is pretty simple if you have the soldering tool. He said they are flat rate and that's what it cost. I told him there's no way I am posting that kind of money for one valve, so they proceeded to still charge me a $94 "diagnosis" fee, which they did not even do, I told them the problem over the phone and to the tech before be even walked into my house. After feeling ripped off, I found a licensed plumber who is a family friend, told me to buy the $90 part and he will install for $100 (actually he said he'd do it for free, but I don't believe in charity work as I work in the service world). In summary, don't use this company, they are a huge rip off, way over charge, and I just can't believe they take advantage of people like this.
