Initially, my wife and I were impressed with his professionalism, can-do attitude and responsiveness. I posted request on Home advisory one morning and Alan called me within 20 minutes and came to our house that afternoon. Showed him the wall space and he took some measurements. He gave me photo example of his work and I was impressed. I gave him a basic design I had drawn for the bookcase. We agreed on the design, the materials, the cost and the two week completion date. He wrote out a proposal, we signed it and made a down payment. He came back twice during the following week to roll-paint the wall space. However, my wife and I became increasingly annoyed and frustrated by his many delays and excuses. It ended up taking him seven weeks to complete the project; and when he finally delivered the five sections, three of them didn't fit. He had to come back two more days to do the necessary alterations. He did the sawing, sandpapering and repainting in our basement. He did clean up the paint spatter and obvious debris from the alterations. Unfortunately, he left a thin film of sawdust around the basement and on our belongings. I love the bookcase. It's visually pleasing, very sturdy, exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, we were so frustrated and annoyed by the cumulative effect of his delays, excuses, and the mess we had to clean up afterwards, that we didn't want to have any further contact with him.

The over all job went well and we are still very excited about the new look and outcome from this new part of our kitchen. From beginning to end we had a precise idea of the price, material to be used, and an overall indication of how the finished job would look once completed. We were supplied with many ideas and suggestions along the way and took the advice that was given through the many years of obvious experience as was demonstrated through out our project. There was a large amount of communication which was helpful as far as timing of when the job would be started and completed. The project was worked around our schedule as well. We are completely satisfied with the finished product as is was completed even better that we had envisioned. Thanks for a job well done!!
