Went to the store. Told the guy what I wanted and when I needed it by and even after 4 follow up calls, never got a quote or even a call back. How does a small company like that stay in business when it can't sell $10k worth of product to a customer standing in their store?! Went to the Seasonal Store in Amherst NH and saved $2k.
Description of Work: Quote for purchase and install of new Pool heater, Pump, filter, chlorinater, UV sanitizer

Scheduled Blue Dolphin to open my pool at my rental property. The appointment making process was smooth and they arrived the day they were supposed to. They hooked up the pool and left. The pump ran for a few hours and then a tube popped off. They came back out, reattached it and left. It popped off a few more times as a result of the tube not being attached properly. This happened several times and they nearly gave up and said this was not their problem. They did resolve it, but were very rude about it, seeming like it was my fault they did not hook it up properly. I stuck with them for the closing, hoping for a better result. They scheduled the closing and I purchased a cover and they covered the pool incorrectly. Half of the cover was never attached to anything. Instead of doing anything about it, they simply left it and did not say a word. As a result a ton of leaves got in the pool and made it basically pointless to have the cover. If Im paying $300 to have them close the pool, that is what I expect. If they had a problem or knew that it was not going to be done right, I would have like to have known so that I could do something about it.
Description of Work: Closed Pool and also had them open it the same year.

Description of Work: Blue dolphin pool has only one thing going for them, one nice employee by the name of Steve. The rest of the staff including the owner are a bunch of pompous a$$'s. My husband and I thought the company had a reasonable reputation and decided to go with this pool company because of location. We needed to have our in ground pool relined, re-plumbed and re-decked. Our estimate price was a little under $20,000.00 (so basically a new pool). We picked out the new liner and aggregate that we desired and were given a start date for the second week in June. Well the start date came and went, with no show as the week went on. So we called and left message after message to please communicate to us what the problem would be. After multiple phone calls we finally received a message on our answering machine. Basically a extremely long finger pointing message as to how it was not Blue Dolphins fault but the concrete company they subbed out. Long and short, the pool company started the weekend after July 4, before the deck was layed.The morning the workers showed to place the new liner they had the wrong liner. Bob the man in charge did not communicate with them correctly on our choice. So back they went to get the proper liner. The new liner is placed...now time to fill the pool! The company suggested that we have it filled by the hydrant on our road. After setting up the time and day, the city workers come to place the hose and the pool workers started to set up. They drained the lines from the hydrant (via 3 different stories) anywhere from ten minutes to a half hour ,none of which I believe. That evening I came home to a pool filled with copper and other metals. So now I have a new semi-stained liner with metal water. $500.00 plus dollars later my husband and I have almost removed it all. Now time for the deck to be poured… The concrete company showed ready to pour, but were concerned because they were not informed of our choice of aggregate. The pool company did not explain that we wanted a two toned deck. (Two different types of stone, one for the boarder and one for the deck itself). Once we filled them in we were informed that the stone we wanted was on back order for the last month. So we waited and waited. Finally last week in July the stone came in and we were in business. I will say the concrete company did an excellent job; they poured us a drainage area for free due to our troubles. Time to turn the pool on… The hole that holds the skimmer leading to the pump was made too small, so our basket would not fit. This was brought to the company’s attention, the company came and looked at the issue and said they would resolve the matter. One week later our same skimmer came back to us looking like a ten year old fixed it with their drummel drill. The pool company promised this to be a temporary and stated that they ordered a new basket. The result from the bandaged skimmer, it was unable to trap any debris due to the fact that it didn’t suck to its full potential. So we used a rock to temporally hold it in place. I have just touched on a bit of this incredible nightmare with Blue Dolphin Pools. Trust me when I say this family business cares only about themselves and not the customer. “Stay away” and by the way it’s December 13th and I still am waiting for my skimmer. I’m thinking that they are saving it for us, as a nice “Christmas Present”!

I paid over $300 and in 8 weeks it stopped working again. I called them to come back and was told that they couldn't fit me in, and that I should call them in the spring. I called in April and made an appointment for a Friday at the end of May. On the day of the appointment, they called a few minutes before 5:00 to tell me that they wouldn't be able to make it but would come on Monday. On Monday, they never showed up. I called around 3:00 to find out when they would be here. The receptionist said that she would check. After about 5 minutes, I was sent to voicemail. I called back 2 more times and was immediately sent to voicemail. No one ever called me back. On Tuesday, I called and was told that they would be sending their best person out on the following day and would call 30 minutes before arriving at my home. At 3:45, I had not heard from them, and so I called. I was sent to voicemail and left a message. No one called me back and no one showed up! I have never dealt with such and unprofessional and unreliable company! At this point, I am having a pool party in a few days and do not have enough time to get a different company out here to fix the heater.
Description of Work: Last summer (5/09) they came to repair my Hayward inground pool heater.
