After 7 years the entire brick walk failed - was completely sunken and impassable in the winter when rain/snow would pool and freeze. It turned the walkway into a dangerous ice rink. We called several reputable landscapers ,and all said the same things: the walk was not prepared properly -- it should have lasted far longer than 7 years. We had to have the whole walk ripped up and re-done. After 7 years our retaining wall began to lean outward; it is at the point now where it is about to collapse. Last spring I had two very reputable landscapers come out to assess the wall. Both were shocked to see such failure -- both asserted that this wall should have lasted 35 years! Both said you should really have the company that build this come look at it. I called Rivet Landscaping and explained that I was past customer who had damage to one of the retaining walls that they had built. I thought Jim Rivet, the owner, would want to come out and look at his work. Instead he sent a young assistant who also expressed shock at how much the wall had collapsed and that it probably wasn't reinforced with a specific product. She sent the estimate to have it fixed and it was over $8,000. It's amazing to me that the owner of a small business in a very competitive market would not want to come out and look at the wall himself or to meet with a past customer who had given him over $20,000 in business. Shameful! I would not recommend this landscaping business!

I love Jim Rivet Landscaping. He is the current landscaper on my property back East. He has been working on my house for about 3 to 4 years. It’s winter back there. He is on the job and I think he helped wire up the trees couple of months ago. He doesn’t work a lot in the winter and I don’t even know how much snow they have got back there right now. I spend couple of thousand dollars per season on average. It is well worth the money and he is really, really good with what he does. He is an expert. He has got a great crew. They are efficient. I think he has numerous degrees in plant science so he knows plants, trees. One of them obviously on landscaping and the other thing is that he knows plant sciences. He knows trees and he knows the native plants extremely well. He is a great guy. He is really something and you don’t find guys like Jim too often. He isn’t cheap but he is worth it because of the quality. He restored the lawn that was neglected when my parents got ill. The yard was a mess and it took time but he cleaned up. He knows what to do. He knows the yard very well. He is a gem. He knew my dad and mum for a long time. I would rate him highly. I use him all the time.

Outstandingly. He services my property on a bi-weekly basis from now on. I trust JIm, and would highly recommend him to all.
Description of Work: JIm, a long time friend of my family, helped me get our NH property back in shape for rental. He did a fantastic job, as the house had not had much work done on it after my parents had moved to assisted living. We (I helped him in my spare time) hoed, rimmed, weeded, planted, cut bushes. He mulched, talked about each plant and what it's care should be, gave recommendations on care- he knows his plants, brought big machinery in when needed, he and his crew knew I was on a deadline, and the worked very hard to get the job done. When it was time for my tenant to move in, our property looked beautiful. Jim was careful to use only organic materials and weed killers, as pets were coming in to the house. He was so careful and meticulous.
