After discovering our tank and well pump were springing on every 15mins, a neighbor recommended we call Skilling and Sons as they had a positive experience having replaced their water tank a year prior. SS came out and diagnosed the problem as a leak somewhere in the line from the well to the house as well as recommended a tank replacement due to large amount of interior rust build up and corrosion. During this first visit they replaced a valve on the tank system ending the back flow of water and subsequent de pressurizing of the tank which caused the pump to constantly operate - saving us money on electricity. We scheduled a day in the following week for the work to be performed and SS was very communicative calling us twice in the days between. First, a follow up call as to how our experience was with the team, and then a second time to confirm the scheduled visit. On the day of the big service the crew showed up promptly on time with a backhoe, dug up and repaired the leak out back, and then replaced the tank and surrounding pipe work, valves, and gauge. The team was very professional, communicative, and friendly. We will definitely be contacting them for future any work.

The folks from Skillings arrived right on time (to the minute). They asked me to describe the issue & asked a few questions for clarification. They then explained how they were going to go about diagnosing the problem. After this they went about their work and kept me updated periodically (findings at completion of every test/step). Once it was discovered it was the pipe in the well that had a leak, they explained my options. Quickly went about replacing the pipe & wiring. Very professional job and they cleaned up everything after them. Overall an A+ job.

My ancient well pump stopped working Sunday night. I spent a couple days trying to find a plumber to look at it until someone was kind enough to suggest I look for a well pump company and suggested Skillings. So I returned to Angie's list to look for well pump companies and reviewed the report on Skillings, which was excellent. I called Tuesday morning and they offered to come in that afternoon, which I could not do, so they came in first thing Wednesday morning. Chris arrived right on time. Looked over the pump, suggested replacing it as it was too old to have parts readily available plus it was quite corroded. I also decided to replace the tank because it, too, was quite corroded. Chris made out an estimate of $2,400. He was very clear and answered questions very well. The actual bill was $2,100. He was very neat and seemed experienced. I would definitely call them again for any problems. Very professional and responsive.

They were perfect. They knew exactly where they needed to go. They were timely. They knew exactly where the wells needed to be placed. They replanted the bushes that we had without any hesitation.

It was more expensive than we anticipated, but what they charged was fair as far as the work that they did. The workers were very professional and they explained everything they were doing. They were pretty quick. The detail for the little things was pretty impressive as well. I like that they didn't hurt my flowers and peach tree, which was important to me! We were impressed with their skills.

Due to lack of water, I called Skillings around 6:30 a.m. and reached a live person. They scheduled a service call for that afternoon and explained their pricing clearly. The service crew showed up punctually. They quickly had the system working, showed me what to do in the future, explain some possible causes, and answered my questions.

Our well pump stopped working and tripped the breaker. They came out the next morning (just after the pump failed, we lost power so they were not able to do anything immediately), checked the amount of power being pull by the pump and determined the the pump was probably seized up and would need to be pulled. They pulled the pump and determined it was bad. The provided an estimate to replace it and recommended also replacing the wire (the pump and wire were eighteen to twenty years old). They completed the work quickly and came in slightly below the estimate. The worker were polite and informative. They had to take two steps out of the deck stairs in order to pull the pump and even put them back when they were finished.

They came in right away (next day) I would use them again.
