The crew showed up on time and worked very hard clearing some nasty vines. I was surprised at how much they got done in a day on what was a hard job. the beds looked great after the mulch and they cleaned up everything very well. They were very professional and I will gladly hire them for more jobs in the future.

The landscaping at our second house had been neglected too long, and weeds were growing everywhere. In some parts, they were more than six feet tall. Plants had also encroached on the 700' driveway and tree branches were overhanging it. We needed to clean it all up to prepare the house for sale. Paul responded to my inquiry almost immediately. Although Mont Vernon is not a town he usually covers, he agreed to do this as a one-time job. We met him at the house, with one of his staff, and walked around everything multiple times. Paul pointed out things that needed to be done and identified plants that should be saved. The next week, two workers, both named Jake, showed up and got to work. They spent two full days on the cleanup effort, clearing the jungle of weeds and applying mulch to make it look fabulous. The driveway was cleaned up with brush cut back away from the edges and overhanging branches cleared. Lastly, on the third day, the grass was mowed and a set of old wooden stairs was hauled away. Communication was excellent as was the professionalism if Paul and his crew. I would definitely use his services again, and since he does cover Nashua, where I live, I will likely do so!

Paul performed maintenance and repair on my lawn sprinkler irrigation system. I had left the system dormant for three years after purchasing the house, so I knew it would likely take a lot of work. The estimate for the work seemed fair, and Paul did what he could to keep the price reasonable. Paul replaced the old controller with a nice modern unit and got the sprinkler heads running again. He found a couple of pipes which had burst due to improper winterization and fixed them at no additional cost. I was impressed with Paul's efforts to have a fair price for service and keep customers happy. He is also a friendly and easy guy to talk to, and explains things well. I definitely plan to use Koehler Landscape for future work.

The landscaping consisted of separating the debris from the old topsoil and removing it but keeping the soil as a base for the new loam. They installed 4 inches of "super loam" on the whole yard and 6 inches in my new 24 ft by 12 ft garden. They graded the loam and regraded a portion of the yard that had too steep a slope. Paul and his workers were meticulous in making sure every detail was to our liking. They took the time to make sure it was done right. They had hired a plumber to come in ahead of time to install the hook-up for the irrigation. Paul and his guys installed the irrigation system with all controls in one location, making it easier for me to make any adjustments down the road. They installed the best quality and most durable sprinkler heads on the market. They again hand-raked to grade over the irrigation system. The final step was hydroseeding. Because it was the hottest part of the summer, Paul opted to seed only ryegrass and will return in the early fall to overseed with Kentucky bluegrass and fescue. This will allow for maximum germination of the seed. As I watched Paul and his workers work, I couldn't help but notice their attention to detail. It was like they were landscaping their own lawns! My wife and I were thrilled with the outcome of Paul's tireless hard work, most of which was done in 90 degree heat and humidity. If you want your landscaping to be done right, you should seriously consider hiring Koehler Landscaping.

Paul rocks! Very professional and knows his trade. Had lots of helpful advice beyond the services offered. It did take a few weeks to schedule an appointment, but this was because he's so busy. After seeing his work I'm not surprised. I fully expect we'll be using Koehler on a regular basis.

Paul came over on a Friday and spent about three hours with my wife and I bacause we had no vision for the front of our house. We really needed someone like Paul that could look at the front of our house and come up with a plan that would fit the house and the neighborhood as well. Once he came up with a plan we approved it and work started within a couple of weeks. His attention to detail is off the charts. I really can't say enough about Paul and his crew. If you want it done right then he is the man to call.

He was wonderful and very quick to respond. He came to asses our yard to do lawn cleanup and spent about 40 minutes walking our yard and pointing out what different plants we had in our yard and the proper way to take care of them. He provided some really recommendations and even some recommendations that would be cost saving to what we originally were asking him for.

Paul arrived originally due to a request for a hydroseed of our front yard after having the yard worked on in September of 2012. Paul investigated and noted two major issues. The first was a massive grub infection and the second was that there was almost no top soil. We were informed that the previous contractor put down a skim coat of topsoil which was just enough to appear okay for a year before running out of nutrients. Paul suggested a grub treatment and then recommended the proper amount of soil to redo the yard (50+ yards instead of 15-20 yards as was previously suggested). After agreeing on the work we scheduled a time and the soil was delivered promptly (after a slight weather delay due to rain). To reduce costs we did not have the old soil stripped out and just had 4 inches of topsoil/loam brought in. We treated for the grubs and then had the work performed. The work was completed in one full day and looked great. They even worked around the irrigation system we had installed which was a tremendous relief as the additional soil was a potential issue with the height of the sprinkler heads. Paul then suggested a water schedule and he even checked on the yard every week or so to see how it was going (which, due to the weather was a bit sporadic). Nearly all of the grass grew in with a few exceptions. One area was not getting watered properly while two other areas just failed to grow. Paul responded pro-actively and added seed in the sparse areas and even added fertilizer to get us through the winter (at a reasonable rate - the seed he did for free). Those areas just about grew in before the weather turned but Paul has guaranteed that he will get those areas growing when spring returns. Paul's responsiveness and communication has been above expectations. He has always responded to questions and has been very proactive to ensure that our needs/expectations are met. This is such a different experience from our previous contractor who showed up and left us with a poor excuse for a lawn. We would highly recommend Koehler Landscape to anyone. We will post pictures as time allows.

When Paul came to give me a quote, my front yard was a disaster. He took the time to check my entire property and gave me great advice on how to approach my landscaping objectives. The results speak for themselves as you can see in the attached photos. More importantly to me, he is incredibly responsive and helpful. I don't know a lot about landscaping (hence the issues I had with the front yard) and Paul was very helpful with questions I had and the approach I should consider when planning this, and upcoming projects. He promptly returned every email and was very willing to put up with all of my questions, and I had a lot. We're moving forward with Koehler for our fall cleanup and annual fertilizing plan. I'm sure there'll be more projects and there's no question we'll be working with Koehler landscaping to help with them.

They came, tore up my yard, made a mess and didn't come back. I was very unhappy with them. Apparently they overbooked and just got too busy. It was very unsatisfactory. They came back once for just a very short time and didn't complete the project. He sent me an email stating that he got really busy. We've had a lot of rain which might have thrown them off. They didn't charge me anything. They quoted me a price which was payable upon completion but they never completed the job. I had just reseeded the lawn and repaired it, so I was unhappy about that. They couldn't seem to find the junction box in the backyard so they dug up the whole backyard looking for it until finally I said that was it and stopped them because they were making a mess. They are supposed to replace the hedges in the front but that didn't happen either. I told them I wanted them to fix it and I never heard from them again.

From the beginning I was quite comfortable working with Paul. He takes the time to discuss options and his reasoning behind his recommendations. His crew were all very hard working and professional, even through the miserable heat we have experienced lately. I would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of landscaping services.

We've always been do-it-yourselfers for landscaping but this year we were running late and decided to hire someone to do the spring cleanup and spread bark mulch. Paul came out promptly and gave an estimate, was able to fit us in quickly, did great work and the price was considerably lower than the other firm I got an estimate from. I couldn't be more pleased with Paul and his crew and the quality of their work, even though mine was a fairly small job. I am now thinking of other landscaping work that I will ask Paul to do!

This was the first Angie's list contracting job for me and I was a bit nervous. As it turned out, Paul Koehler was a perfect fit for my landscaping needs. He understood exactly what I needed and was able to suggest the best plants/materials and ways to approach the project to bring it together within my budget. At the driveway entrance, he planted eight boxwoods and covered the area with a dark compost mulch. Paul spray marked several small trees for me to cut down to open things up a bit. I have received numerous positive comments from neighbors and friends since on how nice it looks. He taught me about the concept of what I call "leading the eye." This means drawing the viewer's eyes to what you want them to see and away from things and areas you don't want them to see. You don't have to spend lots of money on areas of the property if you can focus on certain places that you want to be drawn into. I liked that approach. He detached my small front lawn, over seeded, tested the soil, limed, and fertilized it. After the current rain we had, the grass looks terrific and has filled in all the bare spots. In the back yard he dug out 3 foot wide trench around the screened-in porch and patio and put in 3/4 inch gravel. He also put loam and tilled in a garden area just for wild flowers. I'm anxiously waiting for them to sprout. Overall I am very pleased with the work that Paul and his crew did for me. They were all hard workers during the entire day. Paul was very helpful to me when I asked questions and took the time to discuss things with me. I never felt rushed or that my job was too small for him. I would recommend Paul Koehler's Landscape Construction Services to anyone.

Well. Paul was prompt and on schedule. Work came out well and weekly mowing is good.

From estimate to work performed to payment via PayPal - it was an painless experience. I was thrilled with the quality of the work performed, the number of individuals assigned to the job and their professionalism. Not a leaf, stick, or acorn was found either on the lawns or in the perennial beds when they were finished.

Imow's owner comes to our house to do the work and he's always willing to stop and talk to you about what would work in that spot and what would work in this spot. He built a flowerbed for us and I had a completely different idea and he said "why don't we try it this way and see if you would like it better?" It turned out to be way better than what I was thinking of. He's really knowledgeable and he really takes plenty of time with you.

We used the company because of his enthusiasm and his design. He really sold the entire package. He did above and beyond what the contract said also. They were punctual. He did what he said he was going to do. He showed up when he said he was going to. He did a great job. The work was expert work. He was very thorough. It looks great. I do not have any negative things to say.

I like the quality of their work, their communication, and eight year of use.

From beginning the beginning this has been a great relationship. Everything promised is done, plus a little extra, every time. The owner comes out on the jobs too and always takes the time to check and be sure what you would like done. If you have questions about your flower beds or trees, he gladly provides advice without making it sound like you need to hire him for more work. My husband can be difficult with workmen. He like the owner instantly and feels very comfortable with him. Overall, we got really lucky with this one.

They are wonderful. He was very reasonable and also does a great job with the follow up. He is a very nice man who cares about what he does.
