After 4 months of waiting we decided to cancel the job. We really didn't need the extra laundry upstairs that bad. These are good people, easy to work with husband and wife team. Licensed, bonded and Insured. I feel that what I wanted and what I needed were two different things at that time. I will certainly use this small company again!!
Description of Work: Deposit check for parts given in Dec. for the lines to be put in for an additional laundry stackable unit in upstairs closet. Open ceiling in basement for ease of piping.

I had talked with the plumber, HVAC, basement contractors, electrician, well contractor and any other contractors who would be involved with the project and we had a meeting at the house site so that all contractors would be 'on the same page' for the job. All met and discussed the project with any questions being answered at that meeting. This meeting was in April 2010. As the project progressed and it was time for the plumber to come in and rough-in the basement lines, that was done. The basement was poured and the house was moved on to the foundation in May 2010. Work progressed on enclosing the basement, the plumber told us that he would be out to plumb the house in December of 2010. January came and went, we called, he told us he would be out in a couple of weeks. February came and went, we called, he told us he would be out in a couple of weeks. Same for March and April. The plumber was called and told when the HVAC crew would be working at the house to install the duct work and furnace. The plumber never showed up. I called the plumber again in May to ask when he would be starting, and he told me he needed to look the project over and see the fixtures that I purchased. He was extremely rude and very short with all his answers when he arrived to look at the house. He kept saying how nothing was going to work the way it was, that there was not enough room for the pipes and not enough drop for the sewer. When he looked in the mechanical room he used so much profanity about how the HVAC crew had not left him any room. He said " G-- D--- it I knew I should have been here when they were doing this". When he asked to see my fixtures for the corner tub, I showed him what I had bought and he wanted to know where I wanted the faucets. I told him I wanted them installed in the tub itself and not in the tile ledge. He laughed and said that was not how it is done, and that it couldn't be done that way, that there was not enough room. After going over this 3 times, he suggested we look at the box the fixture came in to see how it showed it being installed. The box showed the fixtures being installed in the tub itself. He told me that "well I guess if that's how you want it done, it's your house." On Saturday, May 4, 2011 I called the plumber to ask when he was going to start the job. He said he wasn't going to do the job. He said he was too far behind to take on this job. Me: "You just now decided that you couldn't do the job? You have me 5 months behind schedule!" Plumber:" I have been waiting 4 years for this job. I just can't drop what I am doing to work on your house." Me: "Is there a problem because I bought my fixtures elsewhere? And you didn't get your commission?" Plumber:" I got my commission". Me: "Then what is the problem?" Plumber: "I tried to explain to you 2-3 times about the rough-in valves and the plumbing but you just don't understand!" Me:"Is it because I am a woman?" Plumber: "I didn't say that. I've worked with plenty of women." Me: " I hope you didn't treat them like this." Plumber: "Oh no!" Me:"Of all the men that I have worked with on my house project, you have been, by far, the rudest of all of them." Plumber: "Well, there's a first time for everything". Me: "Where do you have my fixtures?" Plumber: "Well, where do you think I have your fixtures? In Taylor, where the H- - - do you think I have been storing them? I might just charge you storage rent!" Me: "When can I get my fixtures?" Plumber: "You tell me when you want to get them, and I will d*** well see if it fits my schedule!" Me: "No, I will call you back when you are not so rude and we can figure out when I can get my fixtures." Plumber: "No, I will let you know when you can get your fixtures!" And he hung up on me.
