Excellent company to work with and floors were beautiful!

Greg was great and did a great job on fixing and refinishing our 105 year old floors. He completed our floors while we were out of town. He is very trustworthy and has a great completed product! And Believe it or not, there was no more dust in my house than before he started the floors!

The floors turned out great. Greg worked around other subcontractor schedules well and finished before his estimated duration.

Job was well done. The dustless system Greg uses was truly that. Very minimal dust. We had boards that needed replacement and you cannot tell where those were done. He does work solo so it might take a few days longer than a larger contractor; but having less traffic through my home and the attention to detail of an owner performing the work was great

refinishing floors before selling house

They came in and explained everything and answered all of my questions. They completed the job on time and did a great job. I would recommend them to anyone needing their hardwood floors refinished.

I really had a wonderful experience working with Fayton's floor and Greg. He contacted me right away to arrange a time for an estimate, I received the estimate within hours and he was able to start work immediately. He was timely every day and kept me informed during the process. He took 6 days to complete the work and it was done in 6 consecutive days, so he got in and did the work and got out, no drawn out process. I had special requirements to for him to work with, keeping all my pets locked in a room which was near the area where the floors were being refinished. He was very respectful of my animal situation and no animals or people ( I have one cat that hates strangers) were harmed in the finishing of this job :) - I was so appreciative of his care with regards to my pets. I would hire Greg again in a minute.

Greg did an incredible job. There really was virtually no dust. Summary: -On time, respectful -Clear communicator -Dust-free -Efficient -Competitive pricing -Thorough job, done well He was on time every single time and was good about communicating his timing or other commitments. If he had another appointment, he would be clear about that when he arrived and he would let us know an expected job time each day. There were a couple times where he finished before I returned home (when I was running errands, let's say), and he closed the door and cleaned up. I wish I had a better "before" photo, so enjoy a photo including my dog. We wanted to maintain the floors but needed to refinish them because there was sun damage from the previous owners and you could see where their large rug used to be. Nothing terrible, but it could only be fixed by sanding the floors and refinishing them. Greg eventually told us that it looked like the job before was done by the owner (or someone else who didn't really know what they were doing). There was also existing damage to some boards in the corners of the rooms and he was very clear about it being an extra cost. He found these after he had started the job. He gave us the option to redo them - gave us counsel but did not pressure us one way or the other. (We did have them replaced because we wanted to do it right!) The floors before were an orange-ish color and since we were only refinishing them and not staining them, I was surprised at how beautiful they turned out. I did not realize how beautiful the natural color of the floor was. It was worth every penny and his price was competitive. Lastly, I'll mention that the rooms had been freshly painted and I asked him to be respectful of the new baseboards and he absolutely was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Greg was very professional and was very responsive. They did a nice job finishing the floor and helped us pick out a shade that met our needs (all of the stains looked too similar to the untrained eye). Greg also refinished the quarter round trim as the wood color was significantly different from our original floor. I would definitely call Greg again if we needed our floors finished again.

I found this business on Angie’s List. I called the owner to schedule a quote. He came on time. I requested two quotes. The first quote was install of new floor with material I had previously purchased and sand and seal both new and existing wood floors with lacquer for $2500+ $60 an hour to remove sub base in living room. The second quote was the exact same set up except water base finish instead of lacquer for $2800. I requested in the quotes 2 transitions, one for the living room between the kitchen and the other for the hallway between the bathroom. On the contract, he did not have the two transition pieces as requested and he said it was no problem and he would get the necessary items. He required half down so I wrote him a check for $1400. A couple days into the project, during a conversation between him and I, as he was finishing sanding and prepping the rooms to seal the following days(s), he had to be reminded I had chosen the water base finish. He went and got the water base finish. In the rooms that had the pre-existing floors, I did not remove the base, however I did remove the quarter round. I was not planning on putting back the quarter round. After he sanded the floor, some large nails that were originally hidden underneath the quarter round became visible. I felt bad asking him to punch those down below the surface and fill them with wood putty as to hide them. He did this task willingly without issue. One day when i came home after he had left, I came home to find my back door screen door closed but the main door unlocked and wide open. Luckily I live in a small town with little to no crime. I brought this up to him and he apologized and it seemed sincere. Another day when I was at the house, I heard two times some language that I don’t like to hear in my house and in a later conversation i brought it up to him and he apologized and seemed sincere in the apology. He completed everything as the contract stated. I am overall happy with the quality of the work on the wood floor. One thing that I was not as happy with and I had told him afterwards was the cost to remove the sub-base took seven hours so there was an additional $420 added to the bill. I had mentioned he could’ve gotten a temporary help person to work for the day and you can find those people for $15 an hour at work for hire companies and he still would’ve cleared $45 of profit and possibly have saved me money. Another thing i was not happy with and did not tell him but would tell him if i hired him again was my newly painted white door trim in my hallway was dinged up around chest height from the sanding handles (i hypothesize) and would need touching up. It's an old house and not everything is nice and new but i'm trying to get it in a better condition. Would I hire him again? Yes, however I would want a more detailed itemized contract that breaks out all stages from start to completion. A detailed contract would have been a helpful reminder for the water base finish and planning for the large nails that were later discovered where the quarter round was no longer going to be.

Mr. Fayton was great! As a first time home buyer and having no experience with refinishing floors, Mr. Fayton was patient and explained everything. He kept me updated throughout the process and finished the project in an extremely timely manner.

Mr. Fayton was professional, punctual and courteous. He completely resurfaced and stained wood flooring in the kitchen, dinette, hall, half bath and entry way and it looked better than it did new when I moved in. He was here working all day for 5 1/2 days in a row without a break and only charged me $2100 and it included replacing some boards, removing a toilet, doors off the hinges, protection of our property, cleanup and, it was dustless! He also did some additional work that wasn't in the job description and advised me about a problem I had with my icemaker so it wouldn't leak and ruin the flooring in the future. I would recommend him highly and would hire him again without hesitation.
