Description of Work: We are thankful to have worked with Thompson and Thompson and wish that we would have had them from the beginning of our job. Unfortunately, We ended a contract with a local general contractor earlier in the year due to multiple material deficiencies in the work. We knew that we had to repair much of the work and had the brand new roof inspected by Thompson and Thompson as part of our due diligence. Because of the other structural issues found we were not surprised when Thompson and Thompson identified multiple issues with the new roof. Thompson and Thompson walked us through each issue and described our options to correct the issues. Because of their thoroughness and patience we hired them make the repairs. Approximately one month after the repairs were made, we experienced a week of driving rains and another issue presented itself that we thought was related to the roof. We called Thompson & Thompson again and they were out the same day, even though they were swamped with damage in Blair, NE. They were able to quickly identify another defect in the work done by the first contractor. Thompson & Thompson had employees at the house the next day to make repairs. | |Thompson and Thompson understood our concerns after the very negative experience with the original General Contractor. Because of the professionalism of each member of the Thompson and Thompson team I would highly recommend them. In additional to their professionalism, they were timely and we believe that they absolutely stand behind the job. We are very pleased with their work and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Shingles replaced that were missing on both sides of long gable were replaced and caulked old shingles to new. Two to three bundles and some ridge cap. Added a 6 inch furnace cap. Finished before I noticed.
Description of Work: I called Thompson and Thompson 3rd Generation to get an estimate on shingles blown off of roof in a wind storm in May. Dan Thompson promptly came out to appraise damage and give me an estimate. The estimate was reasonable and Dan was very prompt at scheduling the repair and working with me and around my schedule. Professional job done. I would use them again.

This company was one of the roofers recommended by my insurance claims adjuster so I called them for an estimate. (I'd also checked Angie's List and the BBB). Jim Thompson came out, checked my roof and gave me an estimate. His bid was about the same as my estimate from the claims adjuster so I went with his company. The roof was repaired with in the week. The repair looked great and there was no mess. I wouldn't even have know they were there if I hadn't looked at my roof. Within approximately a week we had more strong winds and I had more shingles blow off my roof. I called Thompson and Thompson and left a message for Jim. He called me back the same day and said he'd be out. These were different shingles that had blown off so he said he could replace them but it would cost me an additional $600 to get his crew out and my roof fixed. He suggested I get my claims adjuster back out to look at my roof because he thought I'd spend way too much money replacing shingles as they blew off on my 20+ year old roof. To make a long story shorter, Jim and one of his crew members assisted me in getting my claims adjuster on my roof. Jim did everything possible to get the adjuster to replace at least part of my roof. Unfortunately for me my insurance company would not replace my roof. I got a bid from Jim and a couple other companies for a roof replacement. I ended up going with another company simply because their bid covered pretty much the same as Thompson and Thompson but their bid was less. I relied on Jim's knowledge through this entire process. Thanks Jim!!! I highly recommend Thompson and Thompson!

I called Thompson & Thompson (based on a strong recommendation from a friend) to get some wind damage to my roof repaired. Their estimator, Dan, called me back in 10 minutes and set up a same day appointment. Dan showed up at the agreed upon time, gave me an estimate, and said he had a crew in the area who could come out that evening (a Friday) and do the work. I really appreciated that as there was rain in the forecast. Their crew showed up promptly and did the work. The repairs look great and the guys did a great job picking up the debris. When it's time for a roof replacement or another repair, I'll definitely call on Thompson & Thompson again.

We use sub-contracted labor for our install as do most of the companies in the area and region. The contractors we use are the same crews we have been using for a long time. Our siding sub-contractors are VSI certified, that is a certification that only a few thousand people in the nation have. As far as the workmanship there were a couple of details of the job that may have been overlooked but we immediately went out to the job and dealt with all matters as quickly as possible. The day after we finished the job, a hail storm caused damage to five panels ( being damaged by hail is not a warranty issue it is an insurance issue) the insurance company would not pay another claim so we repaired the panels free of charge. I am sorry they felt that way and hope they can see we have done everything we could to rectify any issues in a timely manner.

The first day of the install started off on a bad note; the company had come by sometime the night prior and dropped off all of the supplies required for the job without making contact with me for proper placement of these materials. They ended up placing the supplies in front of my garage door right behind my wife's car. I discovered this as I was on my way out the door to go to my job and was left with little time to either move the materials or maneuver my wife's car into my garage parking place after my vehicle was moved. There were way too many materials for me to move them on my own and I ended up scuffing the paint on my wife's car when I moved it into my parking place. Incidentally, the time that I took moving the car caused me to be late for work. I'm in the Air Force and the owner of the company, Jim Thompson, knew this; I narrowly escaped the predicament he manufactured for me without a Letter of Reprimand. Had I chosen to not move the vehicle and left the task to my pregnant wife; she wouldn't of made it to work that day. She is also Active Duty Air Force, a fact that the owner was, once again, aware of. Part of the contract that I signed included a trash clause that was written in these exact words: "Removal of trash from work site when job is complete. We will provide dumpster." This came with a $150.00 service charge. Upon completion of the job the trash from the work site was not cleared up; in fact there were several disposable drink containers and other debris that was not directly related with the work at hand left in my yard for me to clean up. On top of this there were excess work materials left in front of the garage door preventing my wife from getting to her parking spot when she got home from work. I ended up moving these indoors to prevent damage from the storm that was on its way in. Upon contacting the company about this, they sent one person out to collect their excess property which I ended up helping load in the back of their truck. Yet somehow they still felt that it was just to assess the $150.00 service charge for trash clean-up when they clearly failed to perform. Jim stated that trash clean-up didn’t include drink containers and other trash generated by his employees, only materials from the actual work being performed. He ended up knocking the price down to $75.00 to meet me half way.
Description of Work: Repaired Major damage to roof and corrected issue that caused the damage in the first place. Installed a Sun Tunnel. Installed roof vents for bathroom shower vents (these prevent moisture from building up in attic crawl spaces by venting shower steam through the roof instead of just into the attic)

I'm sorry you had to deal with that issue and were late to work. We pride ourselves in customer service and would have come out immediately to move the materials from behind your cars had you called us, (We are usually started on our day before most folks are on their way to work) we try to place materials in a spot they will not be a problem. I do not call most people about material delivery because the runner is a couple of days ahead of the crews as he has lots of stops to do and the crew needs to have the materials there in advance. The schedule is a fluid thing that changes daily and you may have been moved up rapidly to fill a hole. I am sorry we did not let you know we were bringing the materials. We certainly do not want our clients having to move any of our equipment or materials. The runner was dispatched that same day in response to the left over materials. The job was done completely and correctly and has had no issues to date as far as workmanship is concerned. We did drop the ball in the placement of the materials and the final cleanup however that portion was completed the next day. We thank you for your business and hope to work with you in the future.

After the hail storm we got a recommendation to try Thompson and Thompson, so I called. Dan was so professional, prompt, attentive....he LISTENED to what our concerns were and gave us suggestions that ended up easing our minds. He told us what to expect from the insurance company, and he worked with us and them very well. I NEVER had trouble contacting him when I needed to. I am a nit-picky first time home owner and had a lot of expectations and questions. Dan always calmly responded to my calls and texts and addressed any concerns I had, with no complaints. He achieved what we thought would be impossible: an almost perfect color match to our old vinyl siding. So we saved a ton of money there! And we upgraded the roof while we were at it...now when it rains it is sooooo quiet we can't hear it! We used to hear everything! Plus the temperature in our house is much more even between the upstairs and lower level now. Thompson and Thompson really gave us a quality roof that is going to be great for years to come! The gutter work is noticeably improved too....a lot less noise now, and better drainage. I believe Dan recommended a larger size and I think that did the trick. I think our neighbors were jealous, our house was one of the first to be finished after the storm. We told the neighbors they should call and hire them too! Several neighbors did. Our house looks great, they did great work, and I firmly believe I couldn't have gotten any luckier. Dan really had a great deal of patience with me, and I am very happy to give his company glowing reviews!

I liked everything that they did. They picked up after themselves. They also provided us with gutter service. I liked them very well. They put in our new gutters as well. They were the best company for us. The quality is good; I have not had a leak. They were here when they were supposed to be. I have already called them out for another quote, because they do other stuff as well.

By far the best pre-inspection of the several that I got. It was very thorough, detailed, and explained every aspect of the work to be performed. The company's response time from initial call was very quick. The person conducting the pre-inspection was very professional. The job came in below estimate, always a good thing. The work was performed in less than one day. After the work, and after the work crew had left, I went out to walk around and see if I needed to pick up anything in my yard, or driveway. I could find nothing whatever to pick up! A very pleasant surprise! All in all a very professional and competent job. I would definitely call them again!

The installation crew members were real professionals in all aspects of their work that included old material removal, installation of new upgraded materials, and cleanup. The temperature of the day had a heat index of about 108 F and the roof temperature was between 120 and 130 F untit sundown. The crew started at about 6:30 AM and completed the work at about 9:30 PM. Even though the temperatures were high, the crew did not take that many breaks, but did consume large quantities of water as would be expected. The crew paid attention to details, not only with their work, but with protecting property (plants, shrubs, etc.) on and around the house (the house is two stories in the front and three stories in the back and has about 29 squares of roof covering). The other amazing thing about the entire project was the continual cleanup during the process, which included the use of rakes, vacuums, brooms, blowers, and powerful magnets to pick up fallen nails in the grass - one would not know that they were ever there by looking at the property, including that of the neighbors where wind-blown materials were picked up as well. We would definately recommend this company and their crew, and plan on using them to replace the siding on our house in the relatively near future.
Description of Work: We had the entire roof replace including shingles, roof vents, vent pipe seals, and roof edging. This involved removal of the old and damaged roofing down to the bare wood and starting from scratch with water/ice guard and Armor Block underlayments etc. Although the price was not the lowest in the bids we received (mid range) we felt that the professionalism and friendliness shown and the product provided were well worth the price paid.

Work was started and completed in one day along with cleanup. However, I was at work and my wife was the monitor. She was unimpressed at how the "English" speaking foreman was talked to by the boss who passed on info to the Spanish speaking workers. It was almost like "get the job done and move on." Plus, their nail guns were powered by my electricity and I had to come home from work once (twice?) to reset the breaker not even thinking they should have their own power generator. I paid 25% down, rest upon completion which was paid over two months. Half of cost was borne by insurance.
Description of Work: Roof was in severe need of replacement due to years of hail and general wear. I had put in two roof turbines; one right, one wrong. It was suggested to add two more of which I asked them to fix (rotate and level) the wrong one. That one was just picked up and moved down "as is." Asked to get that fixed along with a couple other items, and it was not fixed until I asked them back recently to change out some bad tiles. So two turbines were added, along with 3 regular air vents and more soffit vents. More plywood and and ice/water shields were added.

Estimate was done on-time. Cost would be a bundle and a half. The turbine from the previous job was leveled and at no cost. The tiles on the roof frustrated the roofers as they were breaking (crumbling) as they were trying to replace the bad tiles. I received a written notice of this to use for my warranty, plus I was given an estimate for gutters. Job was done while I was at work and I haven't been back up on the roof to inspect same.
Description of Work: After inspecting my roof, I realized many tiles needed replacing.

From start they did well, I was a bit frustrated that it took a while to hear back from them after I made my deposit for the job. However once they scheduled the job they came, did and were gone in one day and the workmanship looks good. I feel the price was fair, and the service good. One of the things that made me pick this company was the detail that they paid attention to when providing me an estimate. Everything was covered and nothing was left to guess.
Description of Work: They did a total roof tear off of one layer of shingles and replaced bad wood spots, new felt and installed new laminate shingles.

Well The gentleman that was doing the work was nice but he couldn t find the cause of the leak. In the end he said that it was rust on the roof that was causing the leaking. Then to me it seemed like he was fetching for business. He estimated the were would need $12,000 worth of work. It just rubbed me the wrong way because he had just patched the small spot in the roof and then he wants to tell me that I am having another problem that would cost me a lot of money. My husband and I would like to get a second opinion but still have not because there have been no problems since the leak. Based on the second opinion we would hire this company again.
Description of Work: We had a spot that was leaking on our roof but it wasn t a bad leak. We hired this company to fix the problem. When he was doing it he just put a bead of tar and the shingles over it.
