Ric came highly recommended from two of my wife's brothers who had used Ric on three different houses. Ric arrived on time and promptly started work. We had three bedrooms, hallway, and five closets refinished. I have never had hardwood floors and was not sure what to expect. I had removed the carpet, pad, tack strips, staples, bagged all the wood blinds, removed all furniture from the rooms, and emptied all the closets. I also sealed the ducts, since we had the ducts cleaned last year. Bagging the blinds and sealing the ducts was not necessary as the amount of dust was minimal and we were going to give the annual blind cleaning afterwards anyway. We wiped all the walls down afterwards and found very little to no dust on them. I thought that I had removed all the tacks and staples, but Ric's eagle eye found at least 10 tacks and a few staples that I had missed. The sanding noise was not as great as I expected. The stain, seal, and poly did not stink as much as expected. Ric dust mopped with a micro fiber mop, the floors before staining, sealing, and poly the floors. Ric's attention to detail is second to none. We have a family room that needs to be refinished. If we ever decide to do that floor, Ric will be our only choice. Same if we ever decide to have the dining room / living room floors finished, which have also never been finished.
Description of Work: Sanded and finished hardwood 54 year old hardwood floors that had never been sanded or finished.

Highly recommended! Since purchasing a new home 6 months ago, we have called numerous home improvement individuals to help us get settled. This company is at the top! 1 --We were impressed Ric (owner) called us back in a reasonable time (something that isn't always done). Reliable. Expect him to bring a pouch/array of stain samples for you to pick from. Worked with us to find the best color for our home. Communicated a work schedule daily so we knew what was going on. 2--Service-oriented. Appears to be a perfectionist and wants his clients to be happy with his work. Woods take stain differently--RIc worked "above and beyond" to get the finish stain exactly as we wanted. 3-- Excellent job of sanding and his experience shows. We have NOT found spots which were sanded down to far or not enough (a problem we have had with other flooring jobs in the past). Kept mess of sanding to a minimum--something I wasn't looking forward to with this update. We were pleasantly surprised at how little dust was around when the project was completed. Cleaned up after himself at the end of the day. 4--Pricing was competitive to others in the area. He stuck to his estimated price (again, something that isn't always done). We ended up with a beautiful floor! And we are picky!
Description of Work: We had new oak flooring installed in halls which replaced carpet. Also large dining room and kitchen floors were sanded and refinished.

Installer was owner Ric Barner- Ric scheduled time to meet with my wife and provide various samples of woods and stains and finishes for her to look at and choose from - this was probably the longest part of the process - once she had made her selection we settled on a date to begin and Ric purchased the flooring - Since Ric works by himself, his project schedule is a month or two out from whenever you agree to start the project - I agreed to tear out all the exiting carpeting, backing, parquet flooring and base molding - I had this completed a few days before the project was to begin - Ric brings in his wood a few days early to let it acclimate to the environment - Hard thing was getting everything moved out so first floor was empty and ready for work to begin With that done, we turned the house over to Ric - he gives you a pretty good work schedule and follows it closely , given he is also working on other projects and estimates during the same time - None of this external activity affected our project schedule - project took about 7 business days to complete you do have access to travel over the flooring until the last two days when the sealer and clear protective coats are applied and access is limited - if you have a smaller home , I would stay somewhere else during the project - we stayed in out basement , which is quite large - After the project was complete, you still need to stay off the flooring (if possible) for another 4 days or so for protective coatings to cure Our floors look great - The flush oak air vents that complement the flooring - Ric was very professional and friendly. He is very knowledgable with over 35 years experience - everything was done to our satisfaction - he was also able to answer all questions regarding transitioning of our existing furniture bases to new felt bases to protect the flooring Would use him again and will as we have decided to do a front room on the same level to complement the existing new installation
Description of Work: furnish and install , sand and finish Oak wood flooring . it was 3 1/4" #1 Missouri Red Oak - also added oak air vents and replaced base molding with new to complement new shoe molding - originally about 520 square feet then added an additional 200 square feet to project -

Quality Wood Floors refinished our hardwood floors. I solicited several quotes, and their quote was one of the lowest. I selected them because they assured me that all of their jobs are done by one of two experienced workers (both named Rick). Our floors take a beating because of our family (and dog). I asked about different topcoats, and he did a great job of explaining why he recommended the one that he used. Some of the larger wood flooring companies had multiple crews, so I was worried about the quality of the work. The work was completed over several days. Rick did a great job of sanding down the floor and removing the dark walnut stain and refinishing it with several topcoats. He was prompt and courteous. After he was done, I inspected the floor and found a small area that was missed. I called him, and he came back the next day to take care of it. I will definitely use him the next time I need my wood floors refinished.

I got several proposals and did not have any previous experience with Quality wood floors but Rick the owner was very involved in reviewing and answering my questions about their proposal and was very easy to get ahold of. They were also one of the few companies that were willing to work to meet the dates I needed. They have also been in business a long time and seemed to have as much or more experience in refinishing and not just new installation. Rick was very up front during the walkthrough and measure and specifically pointed out areas of damage that they would be able to fix to original and those that would still show some damage. He was also good in explaining the options for one section of the floor where the settling and expansion had caused some cracks that would be too wide to fill with filler and explained how it would look better to not fill them and keep it more rustic in line with age of the house rather than have the filler break out in pieces later on. He also took the time to provide some partial replacement estimates and ideas. When refinishing the stair treads his crew also put new nails and screws in to tighten the squeeky steps before filling the nail holes and refinishing. The work though not guaranteed to be dustless, like some of the competitors charged extra for, was nearly dustless when finished.I plan in the future to probabaly refinish the wood floors in the other side of the duplex and I know who I will be calling.
Description of Work: I had Quality Wood Floors refinish 800 square feet of old (1943) white oak floors and 13 stair treads in one side of my duplex.

I recommend Quality Resurfacing to anyone. We did a lot of checking around before we hired them and had a lot of people in the home bidding on the job. When most companies came out all they did was walk around real quick and write down a price. When Quality came out they did a thorough look at what I wanted done, explained all the advantages and disadvantages of the wood I wanted, as well as gave us other choices. When we were all done talking they gave us the best bid we had seen the whole time we were shopping around. My floors look fantastic thanks to the good work they did.
Description of Work: They came out and installed hardwood flooring in my kitchen, which is about 140 square feet.
