Description of Work: I discovered cracks in my basement floor and walls. I called Thrasher and was told the back of my house had sunk 0.5 inches causing the cracks. I was told that I needed to install steel support piers under the foundation to level the house. The total cost would be $19,600. I got a second evaluation from Quality Foundation Repair. The owner, Steve Gnader, came out to my house and said that the problem was not that severe and that I should simply caulk the cracks. If the situation worsened, to give him a call. Mr. Gnader said he would love to charge me $20,000, but he would not be able to sleep at night if he convinced me to do work that was not necessary. I have Mr. Gnader to thank for avoiding spending $19,000. The total cost to me was $5.00 for a tube of caulk and some sweat.
