Guy came out and gave me an "estimate". The owner called, asked me to change my original review, which I did and he said he would send someone out to do the inspection and caulk a few spots. Almost three years later in January 26, 2017 I receive a bill for them for $150 for repairs from storm in 2014. I never requested them to come out and do a repair after a storm. The only time I have contacted them was through Angie's List for the inspection and minor repairs. This company is now trying to rip me off for something I never requested. They state in a letter to me " naturally, we do not want to ruin your credit worthiness or destroy the good relationship that we have". Too late Total Construction. It is ruined.

Disaster - started when it was raining - no one spoke English. Drove thru neighbors yeard leaving ruts and refused to fix. Left nails in the driveway. Insurance company inspected after completion and rate it sub-standard and cancelled my policy. Roof still leaks.

After 3 years following a complete roof replacement on 3 structures, I developed leaks on the corners in 6 locations, seemingly a product failure. Total provided Saturday service and ordered the correct color and re-scheduled for install. Their work came with a 5 year warranty, which was easy and no hassle getting done. Their staff remains professional and office staff tries hard to keep us informed through the repair. We have previously met and worked with the owner of Total, Kevin Jackson, truly a man of integrity, hard to find in roofers. It is my pleasure to recommend this company and I have.

Description of Work: An original roof inspection was made 3/28/14 with suggestions for some minor repairs on report. The advertised "deal" described an inspection plus maintenance package including minor repairs. None were done. I made several contacts to receive a firm estimate and schedule the repairs. Last contact was 7/3/14 and never have received the estimate. Have since had the repairs done by another roofing company who provided a one day response. My $99.00 investment was a waste of money and I lost lots of time getting my minor roof repairs completed.

Description of Work: We had damage from the April 2013 hail storm. We had the roof replaced within 3 weeks. After that it took many calls and hours of time I didn't have to get them to come out to complete the rest of the work. Apparently they bit off more than they could chew with the First Choice program through our insurance company. Come to find out the sub contractor never submitted additional claims to the insurance company. Once it was all settled months later, the siders they had come out to replace the damaged siding completely destroyed my back flower beds. I expected some damage to the plants but I did not expect them to cut my 40 year old rose bush. When I called they sent someone out to look who had the guts to tell me someone fell on it. I held up one of the 10 branches and said it was cut, look, and showed them every cut branch. They did pay us half of what it cost to repair the flower bed, but we are still spending time getting it back to where it use to be, we have to retrain the rose bush and it will take years to grow back. I will never use them again. This was the worst experience of our lives.

I'm very happy. The flashing was installed to professional standards, and my roof no longer leaks.
Description of Work: I used an Angie's List Big Deal that covered a roof inspection and any needed minor repairs. My 5-year-old roof had leaked persistently due to missing flashing from the original install, followed by an unsatisfactory, shortcut-filled repair effort by the original roofer. Ricky from TCS inspected the roof, identified the problem, and showed me pictures to confirm how unprofessional the repair had been. (He did this work while it was miserably cold outside.) Once there was warmer weather, he returned to complete the repairs.

Total Construction was a company used by the First Choice Program. When filing my claim with my insurance company, that was one of recommended companies that First Choice uses. Through the First Choice Program, I have extra warranties.
Description of Work: This was an insurance claim for hail damage to my roof. The company was recommended by First Choice, which my insurance company processed my claim under. In addition to replacing my roof, they also repaired and/or replaced other areas of my home also due to hail damage. e.g. staining the deck, replacing screens, etc.

Quality looks great. There were some delays with getting them onsite. The damage was not severe enough (in my opinion) to warrant immediate attention. Total Construction was certainly responsive when I emailed and called to get updates on the progress of the various fixes.

Total Construction solicited to bid on damage caused to two homes with wood-shake roofs by the April, 2013, hail storm; the damages and additional out-of-pocket work to be done on the two homes exceeded $75,000. Their estimator was probably the most knowledgeable of any that we spoke with; he talked a great enough game that we were ready to sign with them, but he never produced anything. My calls with questions to him were never returned; after weeks went by without receiving estimates I called the office and was told that a very large stack of estimates was sitting there waiting to be done. I finally was able to reach the estimator by telephone at the office a few days later, and he assured me that we would receive the estimates within a couple business days so we could proceed with selecting whomever would do the work. That conversation was the last we ever heard from Total Construction - until weeks, or perhaps months, later when a solicitor cold-called from there, saying that they were doing work in the area and noticed that one of our roofs hadn't been replaced yet and asking if they could send an estimator over to give us a bid. Quite predictably, we declined. ********* April 14, 2014: This company response to my review - concocted many months after my review, and almost a year after the occurrence - is factually untrue. At no time was a bid ever received from them or was there ever even any discussion about deductibles, much less any request made that our deductibles "be absorbed" by them (or by any other contractor.) That contention simply did not happen and is silly on its face, particularly their implication of me perhaps somehow attempting to defraud the insurance company I've had ever since I became a military officer during late Viet Nam. To the contrary, this contractor was offered what turned out to be about $15,000 worth of additional out-of-pocket work above and beyond the insurance claims. I did not want to become a general contractor, and so I was looking for a company who could and would "do it all" as this contractor claimed at the time; and perhaps that additional work might well be the reason we never received a bid from them. The additional work was a bit complex, involving carpentry, painting, window replacement and some sequential plumbing and electrical; and many companies at that time were suddenly foregoing anything complicated, instead choosing to simply cherry-pick the windfall big and easy money of just out-sourcing the replacement of roofs to the flood of itinerant roofing crews who suddenly appeared following this catastrophic hail storm. Is that the reason that this contractor failed to submit a bid? I have no idea; but at the time I did have two of this contractor's competitors tell me to my face - after doing the measurements - that our jobs were just too troublesome and they were going to concentrate instead on just doing roofs and gutters. But if that was the reason, had this contractor simply done as the other two did and say so instead of leaving us dangling, this discourse would never be happening.
Description of Work: The estimator talked a terrific game, but never produced anything.

Response from Total Construction Services Inc
We were disappointed to loose the faith and confidence with this potential customer. Our estimator did respond and submit a detailed cost proposal for roofing and siding services .The homeowners response was to ask our company to absorb his insurance claim deductible .We respectfully declined stating this request was viewed by the industry and our policies as insurance fraud .We engaged no further contact thereafter.

In May 2012, we had a bad windstorm that took shingles off my roof. The USAA insurance adjuster said the whole roof had to be replaced. I know a little about roofs but not enough to feel comfortable about picking a company considering the amount of companies that move through here because of storms like this. I asked USAA if they had any suggestions and they referred me their program contractor -Total Construction Service Inc. and contacted the company for me. I got a call from the estimator that same day. The estimator, Mitch Stringer, came to my house, went up on the roof, measured and answered all my questions. We talked about the measurements that the adjuster had made and the material I could choose from; how they would install the roof; when and how the material would be delivered; and the cleanup. He pointed out that my roof was not ventilated properly and we discussed how they could correct the problem and what the result of the change he proposed would make. He took pictures before and after and did all the work to change the work order from USAA to include necessary upgrades to the roof that we had discussed. I also had some issues with my downspouts so he spent time measuring and discussing them with me. He had the proposal ready in 3 days and I paid no money out-of-pocket prior to the work being done. The material was delivered the day before the work was done, the crew showed up when they said they would and completed the roof in one day. When all was complete, Mitch came back and went over the changes and was able to demonstrate that it had indeed made a difference in the movement of air. He did all the work to get the payment from the insurance company and I paid my deductible. USAA and Total Construction have a great working relationship which positively impacted my experience. The work was done to my satisfaction and at the time of my choosing and they followed up to ensure that I was satisfied. The company demonstrated honesty and integrity and follow through.

Some delay in starting, had several day installation during which rain resulted in interior damage. Total of four seperate leaks so far (45 days). The first to leaks took 30 days to get repaired. Repair largely consisted of repeated application of silicon caulk with doubtful durability. Next rain, two more leaks, still waiting for to see if these are resolved. I suspect they are not experienced roofers resulting in installation mistakes which are very difficult to repair. Went through Lowe's installation sales. Lowes continues to call, and contrators may appointments, but only keep about half. It is possible that this roof may eventually be servicable, but I really doubt it. Cannot recommend.

I was really surprised at what a good job the did on my walls. We had the same crew at the house everyday, and they worked very hard. I think they really take pride in they're work. They were very friendly and made sure to explain everything to me before they got to work each day.
Description of Work: They ripped out the drywall and put in some new drywall in the laundry room, the dining room and basement due to flooding in the house. Insurance covered all of the payment.
