Description of Work: We love our inground sports pool with fire & ice, jets with colored water look beautiful at night, the stained and stamped concrete deck is the envy of the neighborhood, and we love the pergola over our paver patio with outdoor kitchen. We listened to Steve and paid more for the #1 pool equipment and have saved money on our utility bills. He knows SO MUCH. Not a worry in the world working with Steve Stanger. Thank you.

Description of Work: Concrete driveway replaced and widened and new retaining wall on each side of driveway. Also sidewalk, concrete steps, and stoop replaced.

Description of Work: Steve Stanger started out with a 12,500 bid on our pool to remodel the pool intake valves and, repairing sides, and installing a new liner that fit to stop the loss of water he claimed was coming from the intake valves. For 17K he would put vermiculite on the bottom of the pool to get a smooth bottom. We agreed to the 17,000 which included cement replacement, soil fills that would be packed with a vibrating machine. The pool would be repaired in full and he had "personal contacts" with Tara liners that if the liner did not fit they would come out and measure themselves. Note: We are military so we returned to Omaha for 6 weeks - to which he said "I only need a week and it will be done". In 6 weeks time he was barely there working on the pool while we harassed and got nervous, and he continuously was telling us he needed money to get this and get that. We had renters who were awaiting a pool to use. The only "contractors" that showed up were kids, 17 year old kids - 2 of them that were his nephews so he said. We requested he bring out his contractors and get this done. We also said he has to have this pool done before we had to relocate to Germany on military orders. Sadly the pool was not even close to done when we had to leave, he would not respond nor answer phone calls - called only when he wanted us to get him money to get more needed supplies. When we got situated in Germany he sent a few pictures of the pool - he did not do ANY of the cement work we paid on contract to do, he did not replace parts he charged us for. The pool is not level and by the way it had vermiculite not sand as he told us it had on the bottom. When we received pictures from other later of a closer view, not a far away shot making it look nice - the liner is away from the corners. The seal to hold in the liner is scrap pieces from other jobs, there are wrinkles in the pool and the cement around the intake valves looks like crap. Inside where the pump is he charged us over 200 for a part that was never replaced and instead has Gray tape taped around the old part. He also told the renters not to back flush so that the filter itself would be destroyed and yet more overcharge he could try us for. He never measured our pool to specially get the liner as he was supposed to, but rather ordered the identical liner that the pool had that was incorrect to begin with in size. Steve claimed time and time again he is such a pro and knows better than anyone in Omaha how to do pools. He has a A rating on BBB which is where we went, we did not know about Angie's list at the time. His "big" talk of being such good friends with the manufacture of Tara's and how they would fly out to fix it if there were issues were merely bouts of verbal diarrhea, he sent us someone else's pool listed under his insurance telling us he had pool insurance, he claims he is bonded - it is also our understanding his son came out to help with our pool a few times when he wasn't working for Steve in other places doing "big jobs" like Los Angeles - Steve claimed he also helped to install the liner, his son owns Professional Pools - whether he left helping his dad and started his own company because of his dad's immoral and unethical tactics or other reasons I'm unsure I would hire any Stanger as a good choice for any jobs. 20K he took from us, and he is a complete liar that has no conscience or regard to stealing without working for the money. We still have a pool that is nonfunctional and looks identical to what it looked like the day he started with the exception that now the cement that he did pour around the intake valves is completely different in color and our pool looks even more ghetto than it did. Don't hire this guy for anything, he will take your money, come up with reasons he needs to continuously nickle and dime you and never acknowledge but claim he did nothing wrong as that is what we got when we called him from here in Germany - he also promised he'd go back to our house and look at it as well as fix it. He never did, even after our renters also called and told him when they'd be there. Multiple attempts and this guy magically disappears like a fart in the wind with your money which will most likely be found at a casino across the river or paying someone else he did wrong who had the money to go after him. :-( One day this will be updated with a link to pictures.
