I had a sump pump not working. Shamrock came out to see what needs done and all I asked for was new sump pump. The technician brought the new sump pump and was ready to install, but Dave told me and the technician that we need to do drain tile and it’s not a sump pump issue. I confirmed that all I need is sump pump, but he ignored my request and charges me $50 for doing something with a floater that took 2 minutes. Two days later the sump pump stopped working again and I had to buy a shop vac, so I called them and the owners wife was very rude because I told her that their diagnosis was wrong. The technician comes out the next day and did change the sump pump. He told me that I owe $375 ($425 cost of sump pump - $50 for the floater that wasn’t an issue). I told the technician that I’ll write the check for $400 because I wanted to split the difference out of courtesy, since he came on a Saturday. The pipes started leaking water a day later, so I called and the owners wife answered and when I told her about the issue, she raised her voice and told me that I cheated them for $25 and that the owner will call me. I also never got a receipt for my insurance, which is required.

The crew arrived late the first day, the 2nd day the crew ran out of Aqua Stop and left without telling my husband whether they planned to return the following day to finish the work, response to customer phone calls is slow (the only phone # provided is the office # and calls aren't answered after hours) contributing to a delay in project completion. This company also does not accept credit cards, a detail not disclosed during the estimate. The owner who did the estimate did not check on the work performed. Overall, I felt that as homeowners we were left out of the loop often and despite having 3 contact numbers for us, very little effort was made to keep us informed. I also felt that the job should not have been started if there were not sufficient materials on hand to finish the job without interruption.

Shamrock did an excellent job. They were very thorough, pleasant and they arrived right on time. They also cleaned up well after themselves and our basement has been quite dry since they completed the work.
