Description of Work: Removed old patio and foundation, repoured foundation and pavers. Job went great, meticulous work. Cleaned up job site and kept me informed of progress and delays due to rain. I will be using Jay again and will absolutely recommend him.

Description of Work: I needed my driveway and sidewalk to the front pouch re-sealed which meant digging out all the old sealant first ( which was a mess). They cleaned out the joints, applied backer cord and re-sealed. Looked very nice. Because it has rained so much this spring, they were struggling to complete all the jobs they already had lined up and it was hard to pin down an exact date for them to come. I understood that. But he said he would call in two weeks with a better idea of timing. He called just like he said he would. He then gave me several follow up calls to keep me posted on when they could get there. I appreciate that kind of consideration more than anything because some companies tend to blow you off it they get too busy. |I called for bids from 3 companies to start. One bid $1800! Savine and one other gave comparable bids in the $600s. I picked Savine because of his responsiveness and the helpful tone of his conversation. It was the right decision! I plan to have him do some masonry work for me down the road. When I find someone I can trust, I'm going to stick with them!

Description of Work: Jay Savine is contracted to do the masonry work on the front of my home, but not for another six weeks. So far, I can honestly say that his handling and honesty of the assessment and ultimate estimate was fair, but since I will not receive his services for awhile, I cannot comment on the work itself, but Jay's respectful, courteous behavior was what help me make the decision to hire him.

 + -1 moreI led a project among 4 neighbors to build a brick enclosure for our mailboxes. I was extra cautious about hiring a contractor because of poor experiences with previous contractors and because the project impacted my neighbors, not just me. I wasn't familiar with Savine Masonry and contacted them based on the two previous reviews on Angieslist. Jay Savine quickly got back to me, evaluated the project and provided the lowest priced quote among 3. Jay and I agreed on a timeline for doing the work over the coming month and I hired him. As the project advanced, I got regular emails from Jay explaining exactly when he was going to come out and what he was going to do. Not only did he communicate, but he followed through, doing exactly what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it and finishing the project within the originally agreed-upon timeline. The end product is beautiful. The pride in workmanship is obvious. The neighbors and I all love it. I am the hero for finding Savine! Summary: Reasonably priced, communicated, followed through, was timely and did quality work. I will definitely contact him again if I need future masonry work.

Description of Work: Jay was very courteious and gave me an estimate within a couple of days of checking my concrete porch repair, but my neighbor found someone else to do the job for less money.

 + -1 moreI hired Jay Savine to rebuild a leaning chimney on an old house. He gave me a quote and I had him get started. The labor is really just him so he was not at my house all day every day working. There were a few times where he said he would show up and didn't or had an emergency come up and could not make it. It probably didn't help that it was in the middle of the summer heat. So, it took a little longer than I expected, but this didn't really bother me since it was exterior work, and the work happened during the day. While he was working on the chimney, I asked if he could also pour some new concrete steps to the porch which he did quickly and for a fair price. Jay was a really nice guy and even gave me pointers on a patio and walkway I was putting in by myself. He even let me use some of his tools. I would definitely hire him again, knowing that the labor is all him and it may take a little longer than a company with a larger crew.
