+ -1 moreThe posts were encased in concrete (code violation), the support beams were bolted to the outside of the post (code violation), and the joist spacing did not meet the composite deck manufacturers requirements. The posts were encased in 12 to 30 inches of concrete. I was able to push one of them over and a second to a 45 degree angle with little to no effort. Please note the deck is up to 8 feet off the ground. The framing and posts had to be removed because of the extremely poor and dangerous workmanship. His approach to correcting the numerous city code violations were just further examples of his poor work and I was left with no choice but to fire him. In addition, his bid clearly stated that his company is endorsed by the BBB, which is simply not true. Please refer to BBB website. Mr. Watkins admitted to false advertising claim noted above.
