It took about 6 weeks from the date of our first phone call about the shutters to have the work performed. After the first call to Jim it took a couple more calls to have someone come out to look at the shutters. They were going to order the pressure fit pegs and give us a call to come out for the work. Two more weeks pass and we advised Jim via email that we now had loose shingles as well. Then we we started finding shingle pieces in our yard. High winds and rain storms continue to coast through Omaha so we start becoming worried. Eight days pass from our last email to Jim and Greg calls and said he would be out in a day or two to do an estimate. Two days later, we get a text from Greg asking for our email address. Then an email asking if our roof was leaking (we didn't think so but didn't really know). On the 3rd day we left voice mails for Greg and advised we were so happy with our last job with Premier and thought they were very fair so we did not need an estimate, we just wanted the work done so we could quit worrying about our roof and listening to our shutters bang the house. No response. On the fourth day (a Sunday) we emailed Jim with a timeline letting him know it had been six weeks and many phone calls and emails and no one has yet to give us an estimate or do the work. Also advised Jim and that we were fine with no estimate, and if they were simply too busy we were fine calling another company. We just wanted to work with someone we trusted if at all possible. Monday morning we get a call from Greg and he is sending out someone to do the work. We were not home when the work was done but shutters are not banging, they look tight to the house and we don't see any shingles standing up anymore. We get our invoice and it just says $500. So I asked for a breakdown of percentage for shingles v roof and got that from Greg, but when we asked to know what they had to do on the roof there was never any response back. Curious homeowner just looking to see how many tiles had to be replaced and how bad any damage was. But no response. Overall: terrible communication, no idea of what work was really performed on the roof (our bad - never, NEVER going without an estimate again, even if the roof is leaking) and we really felt like our small job was squeezed in because we were being the squeaky wheel. Well, $500 cash out of pocket is still a lot of money to us. And after our last review for Premier became a 'Page of Happiness' on Angie's List because Jim was just wonderful, we expected more open, honest communication. We understand issues and delays and sometimes forgetting about a customer. But to blow us off over and over and then act like we were done a favor makes this one a 'Page of Saddness.' In response to the 'Provider Response' below: Our roof, siding and shutters are original to the homebuilder. When we called Premier Exteriors it was for an estimate to REPAIR shutters and then, a couple weeks later, the roof. We never stated that Premier had done ANY of the original work. And we did not expect this for free, we expected to pay for this. We NEVER originally tried to contact the original company (the homebuilder) and thus had no frustration with them. Our frustration was with a lack of response by Premier. We politely asked several times if we should call someone else if they were too busy but we kept being told we would get taken care of. Responder below must either be unfamiliar with the phone/email history of this job or has confused this job with another.
Description of Work: We originally called in early April because we had several shutters loose and they would bang against the house when it was windy. While waiting for the work to be performed we also had a small row of shingles bent up and shingle pieces found in the yard. The shutters no longer bang and from the street we can see no issues with the shingles.

Response from Premier Exteriors
The job was originally done by someone else and we were called in to do a repair which we did. The shutters had nothing to do with what our company performed but we fixed them anyway. They originally tried to contact the original company and they did not do anything. We try to make everyone happy but in cases like this where the customer is already frustrated before we even start its hard to keep everyone satisfied.

Premier Exteriors is an easy rating, it is all A's for excellent! Timely response, great workers, extremely careful, no damages to things that were quite close to the garage they demolished, and cleanup was much better than expected. Somehow they were able to bring the garage down without causing damage to anything nearby. Don't know how they managed it, but they know what they are doing! The name Premier Exteriors made me expect a high price tag, but it wasn't so for this project. The estimate was a pleasant surprise and work was completed for just a bit under the written estimate. Jim was quite helpful and easy to work with.
Description of Work: Garage demolition and removal. (Category of this type of service is not listed, so used handymen category) Garage (18X20 size) has not been used for many years, no longer had easy access to it. Has apple tree and ornamental trees next to it which we did not want damaged. Concrete slab on one half, concrete block foundation on other half which we did not want destroyed or damaged.

Siding had water damage from rain and ice. Jim was the only contractor that went the extra step to say he would replace the under sheeting as well as adding Tyvek to areas. The job took about 10 business days start to finish. 1st day measured the siding. 2nd day dropped the materials off. 3rd day stripped front of garage and chiminey to sheeting to see what needed replaced. All of front from top of window down was replaced and all of chimney from gutter down was replaced. 4th/5th day use to allow studs and insulation to dry out. 6th day replaced the sheeting and most of the chimney siding was put up. 7th day the front was started and chimney was finished caulked and painted.8th day the front was finished caulked and painted. Jim called to see how everything turned out if we liked the job. We told him that there were areas that needed additional caulk. The workers came the next day to complete the caulk in areas that they missed and repainted the area. They did a very nice job. The workers cleaned up after each night. Making sure they picked up small pieces so our dog would not get into them. Jim's price was a little higher than other bids. But the other bids did not consider the sheeting and Tyvek that needed replaced. I would highly recommend this company. If there is a bad storm in Omaha causing damage to the exterior to my home I will call him first.
Description of Work: Removed siding and its entirety on the chimney and front area of garage. Replaced all rotten sheeting in both area. Install flashing to roof to stop/reroute water to downspout. Cover new sheeting with Tyvek. Replace siding to match existing siding and replace trim with hardie board. Caulk all areas and paint to match existing house color and trim. Use Sherwin Williams Super Paint.

I was impressed with his professionalism. They cleaned up after themselves. They took the time and the trouble to remove staining on the deck and even repaint part of the deck where some of the material had gotten onto the screen. They spray-painted the deck screen white so it looks brand new. The deck was done very well. It is no longer an eye sore.
Description of Work: Demolition of the previous deck. The deck that we used to have was built on nothing. They put in cement posts, they used pressure treated wood and added onto the size of the deck. We have had issues with a window, and the contractor and sub-contractor looked at it, and caulked it correctly, and did it for nothing.

Jim, the owner, was very responsive. He personally came out to my house personally 2 times before the work began. He also corresponded on Email several times before work had started. We had choosen Premier Exteriors over other companies that only shot me a estimate over the phone and never set-up an appointment at my house. Jim came out spoke to I and my wife about the whole process and also discussed what our finished product was going to look like. Once the ground thawed and was dry enough, the workers an Jim came out to my house to supervise the starting of the digging, they hand dug it since it was early in the season. THey finished quckly and proceted the yard very well. The next day all workers and Jim returned to comence the cutting of the foundation, they protected my basement as well as they could, the concrete dust is just like smoke, you can try to stop it but it will seep everywhere which was expected. Some delays with the saw happened mechanically so it did take them a full day to cut through our poured foundation walls. The next day they began to install the window and framed it out very professionally, and again Jim was out on site to make sure everything was correct and it was. They installed the window well that is a very good quality and covering which is simply the best. Friday a worker stayed behind to make sure our driveway was all cleaned up and celared something in the back yard. On Saturday, yes I said Saturday, Jim came back out to look everything over and ask how it looked and if we liked it. His attention to detail was great. On Monday, Jim and his workers came over and very carefully cleaned up the rest of my back yard, washed off my driveway again, washed my patio off and graded the dirt from the window well very professionally. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs work, the attention to detail and the one on one personal attention is a breath of fresh air from most companies. Russ Eihausen

While I felt the price was high for a new roof and gutters, the company did a great job, showed up on time, prompt service, there was one person we spoke with but everyone was very helpful. They consulted with the homeowner on a valley flashing issue and did a great job installing the flashing. They used a large trailer for a dumpster. The roof for the house was completed in one day, the gutters were installed on a separate day with a sub-contractor, and the garage roof was done in one additional day.

I was somewhat impressed by the site estimator. He was prompt in arrival, and his bid. He played the salesman game that everyone does, calling his boss at the table, etc, and seemed a little cocky in his attitude, so he wasn't any different than any other company. The bid was in the middle of the others, and he was able to get me the shingles I wanted. He was also going to and from the hospital where his mother was, so he was stressed during the entire process, but visited the job site as often as he could. When the crew showed up the first day, I was a bit disappointed to see a truck with another company name. Of course, no one in the construction industry doesn't sub-contract, so no big deal. The first day went very well. The crew tore off the north side roof in a couple hours, and finished that side by the end of the day. Some repair materials that we had discussed never arrived in time, if at all. There seemed to be a communication issue with the company bosses on when some 1x4 and other supplies would get there, so the crew supervisor had to make some snap decisions on how to solve the lack of materials. The second day went much slower, and the job wasn't finished by the end of the day. They were fighting a coming rain, and some light sprinkles came down during work. They were able to cover the roof with tarps before leaving. The rest of the job had to be completed the morning of the third day. Yard cleanup wasn't exactly what I expected. Some personal trash was left, and some nails here and there. I had a wooden rake in the yard that looked similar to one they brought with them, so when they left, they took mine instead of theirs. The siding and gutter work is another matter. One side of the house that needed the most work was done fine. On the other side of the house, a piece of fascia was attached incorrectly, with the seam running the wrong way, with the overlap running under the piece below it instead of over, so I expect some water may run under it. It also appears now that some nails are pulling away and will need to be re-seated next summer. As for the additional gutter on the dormer, it took two weeks to get it done. I was told it was due to high winds. The run was ten feet. After a two week wait, one morning before work, two workmen were at the house to measure the length of the dormer. The man in charge said he had been out several times to measure the run. That day he was going back to the shop for materials to put up the gutter. Something didn't seem right about it, but I dismissed it just to get the job done. It was finished when I got home and looks fine. All in all, things went ok. I finally got a new roof on the house, and it looks good. I'm interested to see how it looks after a year or two, and will need to fix the small mistakes that were left. The man in charge of the job was able to meet me at work to get the final payment. He was kind enough to work around my schedule and meet me in the evening, a pretty far distance from his office, to pick up the final check. I have pretty tough standards, especially when I'm shelling out so much money. I would consider using them again, but I'm not sure if I would, depending on the job. I have yet to find a company that I am completely satisfied with regarding my home repairs, so I am likely to try someone else anyway. This was my first experience with a roofing job, and by all the stories from co-workers and other friends who have done roofing, my experience isn't unusual. Once I find the company I really like, however, I will be a very loyal customer. I looked them up on this website and saw their positive ratings. This was one determining factor in giving them the job.
Description of Work: Since my home is older, a lot of demo work had to be done as part of this job. Asbestos shingles, cedar shakes, needed to be removed before USB, felt, shingles, etc could be laid. After the roofing material, some fascia and soffitt repair was required, in addition to a gutter being put back up on one side, and a new gutter put up on a dormer. The house had no roof venting, so vents were added where space allowed. Basically, the roof was a complete tear-off due to age and damage, down to the spacer boards. And an entirely new roof put up.

This was a big job with lots of siding. The crew was here for a little over two weeks. The materials arrived promptly just before the crew got here. They were really good about keeping things neat in the area of the house on which they were working. And they were very good about cleaning up after themselves each day. They crew was friendly and courteous. If we had a question or issue, the owner was extremely prompt in responding to us. The window project also went well. It took a couple of days to get the windows installed, but the crew was friendly and courteous. We like the windows so well we plan to replace the rest of them in the house next spring. There were no additional fees or surprises on either project. The price that was quoted was exactly what we paid even though I'm sure there were little things that popped up unexpectedly. We highly recommend.
Description of Work: The company installed siding on my two story house. We also had to replace two large windows in the front due to wood rot. After the siding was installed, we had issues with the chimney leaking (previous roofing job; not related to this installation). They were gracious enough to come out several times to fix that problem for us as well. Then as a precaution, we had additional channels installed on the front of the house to ensure water would drain well.

My wife looked up on Angie?s list for them. We are very happy with them. We had a couple of bids and their bid was kind of in line with everybody else. They had some better ideas on guttering and we liked that. They seemed to be more personable than the rest of them. We went with them and they did a very good job. The price they quoted was pretty much in line with the others and cheaper than some of them. I rate them high overall. They were fine. We had one little problem in the end, and they came and fixed it. If needed, I will use them in the future.

We lost the top portion of our siding in a recent storm. Well, it wasn't exactly 'lost,' it was hanging off banging into the side of our house with each wind gust. :) It was driving our dogs nuts. We did some research on Angie's List and decided to call Premier Exteriors. Jim answered the phone when we called on a Sat morning. Amazing, we didn't get voice mail! We discussed our issue and wanted advice on whether the hanging portion of the siding could be removed before the insurance adjustor came out. Jim was knowledgeable, professional and most of all, very understanding of our situation. As he was heading out towards our area of town, Jim said he'd stop by and take the siding down. He stopped by shortly after the call and in no time had removed the hanging portion of the siding. He was a great guy to talk to and and that point we knew we had made the right decision to call Premier Exteriors. Once the insurance adjustor came out and we received our check we called Jim back. He hooked us up with Sandra from his sales team and she came out to give us an estimate. She was upbeat and super friendly. She also gave us instructions to take all pictures and such off the East wall before the contractors came out. I'm glad she said something because, as obvious as it seems, I would not have thought of doing that. I believe Sandra called us shortly thereafter to give us a date on when the contractors would be out. The contractors showed up right on time as promised and were in and out right in the time frame we were given. They were very efficient and seemed to know exactly what they were doing. They removed the rest of the siding and gutter, applied new wrap, put up the new siding and reset the gutter. It took only about 3-4 hours. They hauled away all the old siding, including the siding Jim had taken down for us several weeks before. The contractors also gave us a 2ft section of the new siding for color reference. All in all, great experience. A+++ all the way. Jim and his team are a great bunch of folks, and the entire experience could not have been any better than it was. It was practically effortless for us. We like that. :)

Contacted Jim for an estimate and he was very prompt and professional. I had about 4 or 5 contractors estimate and Jim's was the most expensive, but was exactly what I wanted: Hand dig hole to drain tiles install window and well and fill entire hole with rock. Other contractors wanted to use machinery to dig the hole and/or not dig all the way to the drain tiles. I called some of Jim's clients and even visited a house where he installed two egress windows. I signed the contract. That was the last time I ever saw Jim. I talked to him several times, but neither he nor his helper (can't remember his name), ever came by again to inspect the work of the sub-contractors. About a week or two later machinery was parked in front of my house and left over the weekend. Unfortunately, I have a jerk for a neighbor and he called the police on the equipment. The police red-tagged the Bobcat. I contacted Jim and he was unable to move the Bobcat because he didn't have the keys. The police came the next day and asked me to move the Bobcat again, and I explained that I couldn't. Anyway, the Bobcat and skid-loader were impounded. Jim indicated via e-mail that he was now considering not doing the job and that I could "buy" the materials he had bought from him. He eventually calmed down and agreed to continue the job. The guys that came and dug the hole worked hard and did a good job. Once they left though, the hole sat for several days, but if you remember, last year was very rainy. The hole extended out far enough that I was concerned that a good rain would cause the "river" between my house and my neighbor's house would dump into the hole. I had to buy sandbags to put around the hole to prevent this. The sub-contractors arrived to cut the hole in the basement wall, but they had a lot of problems. Lucky for me I had put plastic up in the basement because the concrete chainsaw they used spit LOTS of water. I had to mop up probably 6 times while they were working. I'm talking a 10' x 10' area completely covered in standing water. They couldn't cut through the rebar in the wall and after I repeatedly offered my angle grinder, they finally used it and it cut it easily. Once that was cut, they attempted to pull the rebar out by pulling it back and forth and I had to stop them because it was attached at the top of the foundation. When they were done cutting the hole out (it took a full day), I suggested that they should fill the blocks with cement. They thought that was a good idea (should I be telling them this?). They said this was the first "one of these" they had done. Jim told me he had done a lot of these, but unfortunately, this sub-contractor had never done one. They installed the window and the well. I measured the window and it was not up to code for an egress window. I let Jim know and he at first told me it was my fault because I changed the original dimensions we agreed on. First of all, it was a minor change and the original window dimensions didn't pass code either. Jim originally reassured me that the window manufacturer would validate that the window was big enough. I finally went to Builder's Supply and found a window that would pass inspection. The sub-contrator installed it. The window wasn't sealed well, so I had to recaulk it. I also noticed that it didn't shut well, so I had the contractor come back out and straighten it. I was so worn out after this experience I waited 4 months to start my basement remodel. Once I started framing, I found that the window was still crooked, so I had to remove the whole window and reinstall it. Premier never resodded the side of my yard as was specifically stated in the contract either. I get a sick feeling in my stomach every time I think of this experience.

I contacted Premier Exteriors because there was water damage on the ceiling in one of the bedrooms from a roof leak. This water damage showed up after a winter of a lot of big snow storms and ice storms. I contacted them on a Thursday, and on Saturday they had someone out to look at the problem. After showing him the ceiling, he checked the attic space to try to trace the source of the leak. He then went onto the roof and told me that the roof was in real good shape but there were a couple of places that he thought needed to be tarred. He tarred several areas including an exposed nail head. The Premier Exteriors representative charged $30.00 and left me info on contacting them if I should happen to have more problems. Since they were here, we have had several bad Spring storms with high winds and rain blowing sideways that have caused many roof problems in the neighborhood and I am happy to report that the leak has not repeated itself. I was very happy with Premier Exteriors response and service and and I will not hesitate to call them again for any other services that they provide.
Description of Work: The attic was checked to see if the water damage could be found there. The roof was inspected for areas that could be the source of the leak. Several areas on the roof were tarred.

It even contains LED lighting in the rails and corner posts, giving it an extremely appealing finished look. I trust and absolutely WOULD use Premier Exteriors in the future!
Description of Work: Premier designed and constructed a composite deck; also replaced a couple garage windows, and "wrapped" others in aluminum; and performed minor roof work.

Their estimate was a bit high for what we wanted to pay. He was thorough and let me know what he was going to do. We were not really impressed with his style of going about things. He was over cocky and we didn't appreciate it. He was an hour late but he did call to let us know.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from Premier Exteriors to do the soffit and gutters around the house.

I had a very positive experience with Premier Exteriors for the purchase and installation of replacement windows. I'm very pleased with the windows (admittedly, it has only been a week) and am enjoying a cross-breeze that was previously not accessible. The windows are easy to open and close and designed to be easily cleaned. I am curious to see what impact this will have on future heating and cooling bills. Jim's crew was quick and professional and frankly, left my house and garage cleaner than they found them. Although I do not anticipate any problems I am confident that Premier would address any issues promptly. I have peace of mind knowing that this company is rooted in the community with every expectation that they will be here in the future.

Met with Mike Pierson for estimate on 4/16/10. Mike brought all company documentation, contractor licenses, references, etc. with him. He provided a written estimate on site, but did not use high pressure tactics to force a sale. Called him later that day with more questions about the estimate, and he offered to stop by with the company owner, Jim Pull, later that same day to talk about the job in greater detail. The next day, Saturday, Jim was out at the house again measuring and planning out the job. At this point he identified a number of problem areas in the structure of the deck and stated that he would replace all the joists and rotted header boards AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO ME (!) because he wanted to do the job right. Other contractors I have dealt with would have nullified the contract and started a running tab at this point. Jim's crew arrived at about 8am on Tuesday of the following week to start work. Upon removing the old deck it was clear that the flat roof garage below it was also rotted out and needed to be replaced. This was a large job which was not part of the original estimate. Jim provided a fair estimate for this work and had his team start on it immediately. Both the deck and the roof turned out to be more involved than Jim originally thought due to poor design and construction of the original structures. Jim and his crew adjusted to these conditions professionally, without increasing the initial estimates. Jim stated repeatedly throughout the process that he would rather take the time to do the job right without haggling over every detail, even if it reduces his profit margins. Jim, the owner, worked along with his crew most days. The work crew showed up 6 days a week for the duration of the job and worked from about 7am-7pm each day. They asked in advance how late we were comfortable with them working. They were consistently professional- no shouting, no bad language, no loud music. The same crew showed up each day- there was no rotation of unfamiliar workers. The job site was kept reasonably clean. The crew leader was professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. They worked in light rain conditions on a few days to keep the job on schedule. The final product is great- the deck is more solid than ever before, and I am confident that the work was done right. Even our old railing and stairs, which they removed and reinstalled, are more solid now than they were before. The crew even took the time to pay attention to details I had never addressed- for example, Jim reinstalled our original deck lights in a way that looks much better than before. I know most contractors would have either avoided the extra work or offered to do it for an extra fee. I would definitely use Premier Exteriors for future projects.
Description of Work: Replaced 344sq ft deck with Timbertech, also replaced all joists and header boards. Removed and reinstalled original deck railings and stairs. Replaced flat roof of 17x19 ft garage underneath deck. Installed waterproof sheeting on flat roof. Coordinated with electrician.

Severe winter with ice dams forming on our low-pitch garage roof caused leaking between the steel roofing and plywood decking. Premier Exterior was one of a very few roofers who had experience with steel roofs, and the contractor was quick to respond to our call for estitmates. He determined that the steel, which was of high quality, could be removed in sections and the plywood decking beneath, which had begun to rot from previous winters' damage, could be replaced and sealed with an ice barrier product. The bid seemed reasonable, and we approved the contract. Workers were on hand within a week and had the job done in two days of long labor. We were pleased with the results. Let the winters come!
Description of Work: Removed steel roof on garage, replaced underlayment and sealed, replaced steel roof.

Jim responded quickly to my phone call (and answered his own phone!). He inspected my roof and ordered a new skylight that was installed later that same week. He was professional, fair and prompt. I was so pleased with my experience that I recommended him to my mother. She already has a new roof and is planning to have him install siding.
Description of Work: Evaluated the roof for loan approval and installed a replacement skylight.
