The wrong one was installed and no one wants to correct it. Is this normal procedure with Primier Countertop?

I made a big mistake by going with Premier Countertops. The front office service was unprofessional and taking the issues to the owner made it only worse. It took them 5 months to complete our project with lame excuses, multiple reminders and some unpleasant phone conversations. The workmanship of people they hired for granite installation is mediocre and messy, they wrecked the wooden flooring and appliances in our house and their excuse was that some collateral damage is expected because the granite we chose was pretty heavy. They chipped a large piece (about 3-4”) of the main island granite during transportation; we objected for its installation on arrival and we were promised that they’ll fix it like the original. Jarred tried his best to fix it but his best couldn’t fix the problem like original and we are living with it regretting every day. The owner didn’t take any responsibility neither for the damages to our house nor for the granite breakage. On the bright side, Cory installed the backsplash and he was very patient and did a tremendous job. Also people in the machine room were very patient and pleasant (the one star is for them). Overall, I do not recommend this business to my friend given what we had to go through dealing with them for five months. My advice is, if you have a beautiful house don’t take chances. In case you did go with them, don’t make the payment until the work is done as their response completely changes once you make the payment. If you have time to read further, the following are some specific examples of our customer experience. 1. They apparently have a policy requiring 100% payment at the time of signing the contract. I would have walked away as I don’t want to pay $15K upfront without seeing anything tangible, but they did accept my business with a 60% initial payment terms and the rest after completion. Later, when we reminded them for scheduling next steps, they were irritated citing the excuse that we didn’t pay the full amount. 2. When we asked for some take-home samples for color matching, they asked us to show our IDs. I reminded them that I already signed the contract, but they still insisted and finally she said “I’m letting you take the samples home as I’m in a good mood today”. That’s so unprofessional and rather insulting to the customer who trusted your business and paid 60% of the total project cost on day one. 3. The installers were instructed to collect the remaining 40% balance BEFORE granite installation, but as per the contract we would pay only AFTER the completion of the entire job including the backsplash work. When we called the owner, she insisted the full payment despite knowing the granite slab was chipped and damaged on arrival. They should trust the customer just the way the customer trusted them. 4. We took time off for three days to stay home and attend to the granite installation and they cancelled the work an hour before the scheduled time saying that the granite slabs didn’t arrive. That’s so lame as we did the slab view a week before in their workshop. When questioned, she immediately changed the excuse saying that ‘I was looking at a wrong folder, but it’s still cancelled as the installers are not available’. They have no respect for customer’s time and you need to oblige to their scheduling, or else things will get delayed for ever.

Premier did an excellent job. I got all new cabinets and countertops and they organized everything for me, the removal, install, and even helped me getting the plumbers in to reconnect the fixtures! My kitchen looks beautiful and Premier's staff was so helpful and professional during the whole process.

Premier Countertops did an outstanding job on my kitchen renovation. From the moment I first walked into their showroom, the attention to detail and responsiveness was outstanding. They were punctual and very neat in terms of leaving the kitchen clean after they finished the work. Premier was fantastic to work with. Out of the many places that carry granite Premier's quality is unmatched in Omaha. They are on time and totally went above and beyond what I was expecting. Honest, friendly and very easy to work with!! If you want it done right call Premier don't chance it going elsewhere.

The quality of the workmanship and the knowledge of the installers were exceptional. They were very courteous. They completed the job in a time they estimated. And the quality product was outstanding. I just purchased a product from them recently also.

It went extremely smooth the entire time. They explained the entire process from the beginning so we knew what to expect. Overall, we were very happy. Everyone we worked with was extremely professional and punctual. They stood behind their work and made sure everything was perfect before they left.

It went great. Despite the circumstances, they made it an enjoyable and smooth process. They addressed all my concerns and it was a good experience. The place is just beautiful. Everyone that comes over always comments that they can't believe there is something like this in Omaha, Nebraska.

It was really good. I had a small kitchen so I actually was able to find a remnant outside at a discounted price. They surprisingly had a lot to pick from in their remnants and I was happy to get a lower price point. They were on-time. They weren't pushy about selling their own things. The installation only took about 30 minutes. They did a very good job. It was quick and easy. Any questions I had the scheduler called me when they aid they would. Overall a good experience.

This was a great experience! When I went to their store to discuss granite, I was very pleased with how nice everyone was and how large their selection of 'A' granite was. The price/sf included installation and was very reasonable. I went to the granite yard to select my slabs and then went again a few days later with my husband. We ended up changing our selection and our edging and had absolutely no problems from Premier about doing so. The man who came out to measure our counter-tops was extremely nice They use a digital templating system which was fun to watch. Every time I called with questions, I was treated with patience and respect. The installers arrived on time and were very nice and courteous. They kept the floors clean and were very careful with my cabinets. The bottom line is that the counter-tops look amazing! There are two seams and you would be hard pressed to find them! They were very detail oriented and made sure that the seams were perfect. I have never seen better seams! They obviously spent quite a bit of time in the design process to ensure that the pattern in the granite matched. I will definitely use them again! Actually, I will be going back in the next couple of weeks to see about having the counter in my guest bath done. I highly recommend!!!

I decided to make a change to the granite color. They were out of several of my choices so I had to go with one that I really didn't want. When the counter tops arrived and were put in place I was shocked to see that the granite matched the cabinet color perfectly. I couldn't believe it! They look great and fit perfectly. Then I got the bill. My cabinet maker had put down a huge down payment to cover the cost of the counter tops. I knew I was going to owe Premier a few bucks but not nearly one thousand dollars. The installer immediately got on the phone and called in to the store. Within a few minutes they had it all straightened out and said "Don't worry about a thing. It's all taken care of.". So I asked what I owed then and the installer said I owed nothing. They would waive the rest of the charges. I almost keeled over!

Sales people were very helpful and caring. Had lots of ideas. Everything was picked out and we waited more than 2 weeks for someone to respond either to come and measure or to give us a bid from the measurements we provided. We heard nothing from this company. After 3 weeks of waiting I went to Angie's list because I was suspicious of a problem. There I found similar complaints of poor service. We then went to the Countertop Shop and now have a beautiful kitchen and bath.

See above. I will say the work they did do was very nice. Just no service after the sale or no completion of job.

The product was great and they finished result is beautiful. They got the granite installed in one day and the back splash took about two days.We did have an issue with the customer service and they were not very responsive. They came out to take measurements and gave us an estimate, but it turns out they miss measured so our final bill was not what we anticipated.

We did a complete kitchen remodel. We were looking for a company to install granite countertops. We had been to several different places and were disappointed by the limited choices that we had. Most places had a choice of 10 to 15 different granites split into a couple different price ranges. I was driving and saw Premier Countertops and decided to pull in. They had over a 100 different choices of granite to choose from. We picked granite that we wanted and it was not currently available. They called their local distributor and asked if they had any available and they said they had some that were similar. We then went their and chose the slab that would become our counter top. The installers were very polite and professional. When they were bringing in the piece that had the cut out for the sink I thought the sink hole looked odd but thought it may be the angle I saw it at. We had had lots of problems with our contractor that had done the other work so I decided to go in and look at it. They had cut the wrong size sink hole. I brought it to the attention of the installers and they called the office. While they were on the phone, I went to find my original paperwork and was preparing for a knock down drag out arguement. When I placed the employee had written down the wrong sink. Once the problem had been identified the office told the installers to bring the piece back and it would be fixed. After all the delays we had with other contractors I was very upset. They took the piece back and recut the sink hole and the countertop was installed a few hours later. I was very impressed that they stepped up and corrected the situation and at how fast it was taken care of. If everything had went smoothly I probably wouldn't have got on here and posted. The fact that Premier recognized where the mistake had been made, took responsibility, and fixed it the same day was very impressive to me. You don't see that dedication all the time these day. From the installers that had to lift a several hundred pound piece twice on a 100 degree day, the office staff that recognized the error, to the shop guys who I'm sure had to rush to put my countertop back in production when they had others to work on Premier exceded my expectations. We love our new countertops and would use Premier in the future.

We purchased the countertops through NE Furniture Mart and they subcontracted with Premier. We had a very nice guy come out to do the template. Because I had so many questions, and a list of things I wanted to go over, he was here twice the amount of time he is usually at a home doing a template. But, ours was an install of an existing kitchen and the counter next to the fridge had to be flush to the cabinet and across from the fridge could only be 1" and we had a slide in stove so those measurements had to be very specific and so forth. I asked several times before he left if there was anything we missed. He said no we made sure that we had covered it all. I was not home when the counter tops were installed (July) but as soon as I got home I noted the breakfast bar was 2" shorter than the other counter tops. When I called Premier to discuss, the first thing the guy said to me was that was probably because of how the breakfast bar was designed, and the first thing I said to him was that is a discussion we should have had during the template appointment, not after the counter was installed OR even before they set the new countertop once they removed the old one. (Eventually I was told by them they install countertops, they don't do cabinetry.) My husband and I sent several e-mails to them asking for rectification and we made several call to them. None of them were answered. Finally I went in to the customer service area of NFM and after two calls to them, I was told I needed to go to Premier to talk to the owner of Premier. I hadn't the time or desire to do that so finally I got a call from Premier and they sent someone over to look at the breakfast bar. Indeed, he said, it is shorter but we do not make or repair cabinets. We do countertops. He asked me if they made the countertops to my specifications, and I said, "yes." Then he told me the problem was with the cabinet, not the countertop so it was not his problem. In addition, because the counter top was lower than the old one (mind you we were told by the template technician that it would be higher than the old countertop) there was a 1/2" gap of exposed brown wallboard between my black granite countertop and my red painted wall, that they globbed clear caulk over. it did not look good. The finished product is not something I would be proud of and every person who came into our newly remodeled kitchen asked about the brown wallboard and the short countertop. I merely told them that I thought I had a partner in my remodel project in Premier--someone who was going to help me remodel my kitchen and have a beautiful end product, but I guess I hired only someone who would cut and polish countertops. Today is September 13. After more phone calls and more time that I care to recall, I finally have a breakfast bar at the 36" height. Two days ago Premier (not willingly and I am pretty sure NFM paid them since during one of my calls I was told they could not do anything until they had a purchase order from NFM) took off the counter top, I hired a cabinet guy to come raise the counter top (Flair Custom Cabinets--I love those guys) and today they came back and installed the countertop. Gosh, it would have been so much simpler if they would have only told me this during the template or after the removal of the old countertop.
