MOVERS NOT SHAKERS

I wouldn't use them again. They didn't come on some days and on others, they would come for an hour. He cursed his workers in front of us. He said they were using drugs and they were stupid. When they came the last day and they were supposed to come the day before but they hadn't come. One of the guys told us that they had been told to dump everything in the basement and that was what they were going to do. For what they did, they overcharged. They ruined stuff and didn't put stuff where it needed to be. They were really overrated because they didn't do the work right. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

As a whole, they did ok but we were not pleased with the way the lead guy or owner spoke to the other 2 guys. He yelled at them in front of us which was very unprofessional. We also had problems trying to get one piece of furniture in a room and they wanted permission from us to damage the ceiling to try and force it in. Totally un-acceptable. The 2 helpers were very friendly and accommodating but the main guy wasted alot of time and ran up the bill.

This company receives a mixed review from me. They did the job with minimal damage to the furniture and walls. They worked fairly hard and had a decent attitude. However, I am not happy with some of the decisions they made with time. It took them 30 minutes to go from our old place to our new place, a distance of just over 2 miles. We had no idea where they went until they showed up and told us they had taken lunch (at 10:45 in the morning). They didn't bill us for the lunch break, but they could have finished moving and then taken lunch in the noon hour. They also snapped at my Father-in-law when he asked them what had taken so long. We had two entrances at the new house to choose from - one with two steps up to ground floor and one with about 20 steps. They chose to use the entrance with 20 steps. This took much more time for them to move things into the house. They had to keep resting and taking breaks because they were working harder. When I pointed out that the other entrance was easier, they argued with me and told me it wasn't. As time drew on, I realized that this was taking much longer than I had expected, so my brother-in-law and I jumped in to help them along. We probably shaved 1/2 hour off the time. It still came in at 5 hours to move just the furniture from a two bedroom apartment 2 miles. They also forgot about 5 items, which we had asked them to take out of the basement. Because of this I had to borrow a friend's truck to move those items later. Like I said, they got the job done, for the most part. However, I have used other movers who were more efficient and got the job done in less time. It was convenient that they were located downtown. We were moving within the midtown area, so their proximity saved us from paying a company from out west to drive downtown. In the end, I don't know how much we saved, really.

I wish not to disclose the distance of my move, but it was fairly long. This company is kind of like the Two Men And A Truck ordeal. They do just as wonderful of a job as they do. They did not break anything because they were very careful and very professional. I am pleased and would gladly use them again.
