Midwest Vintage Refinishing

I had a platform rocker which had squeaked from the time I bought it at Nebraska Furniture 8 years ago. It started as a small squeak which I thought would go away. I should have contacted Nebraska Furniture for an exchange at that time but I didn't. I had a sentimental attachment for it because it was a gift from the church choir I had directed for 16 years. They sang better than the rocker, however. My husband and I tried every method we heard of to try to get rid of the squeak. Had a rocking chair expert look at it. He couldn't fix it, either. I called Nebraska Furniture to ask who they recommended and was given the name and telephone number of Midwest Vintage Refinishing. I called. Roger, the owner, came out and took the chair away. He took the entire platform apart and re-glued everything. He charged me $80.00 which I felt was very reasonable. And the rocker didn't squeak. Until that night. Just a tiny squeak. Louder the next day. And the next. I waited 3 weeks before calling Roger because is such a nice man and I didn't want to disappoint him! When I did call he came and took the chair away again. He brought it back yesterday after replacing all the bearings. Only charged me $25.00 for the bearings. The silence is wonderful And so is Roger. What a nice man to deal with. Very personable, pleasant and professional. The kind of guy I'd like as a neighbor....or even in my family!
