Description of Work: We had Kitchens By Design completely remodel our kitchen, laundry room, and main floor powder room and partially remodel our master bath. I am very torn about this review because the work that was completed was absolutely second to none. The cabinets, flooring, and lighting is absolutely beautiful. The only gripe I have, and it is a big one, is how the contract was written and what was included in the contract. That is why I give the big downgrade on professionalism and overall. The price was higher than most other companies, but we chose them because of the interior designer that came along with hiring them. She was incredible, and I would recommend her in a heartbeat. But during the contract process I felt that there was some bait and switch in there. For example, we were told that we could pay extra for granite countertops instead of formica. What we were not told, however, was that we would get a choice of only two types of granite. The first piece was the ugliest piece of granite I have ever seen. And the second was even uglier than that. So if we wanted to get a piece of granite that was not super ugly, then we would have to go shopping, which of course, cost more than they allotted. I also found out that what was allotted for things like plumbing and lighting were also very small unless you wanted the bare bones. Since this was the first time I've ever done a remodel process like this, maybe it was just my ignorance, but I felt completely taken advantage of. The saving grace was that the work that was done was very, very good. So I would recommend them, but with a huge caveat. That caveat is, make sure you get details about how much is allotted and more importantly, what that amount will buy for you. I would use them again, but I would really do my homework before I do so.

Description of Work: Gutted kitchen, installed cabinets, countertops, tile flooring, all appliances, lighting, backsplash, sink, patched walls. Also installed new bath vanity & sink, flooring and flooring in entryway/hallway.

Description of Work: I used Kitchens By Designs. They redid whole my kitchen; it is a big kitchen. I also had cherry wood cupboards put in, an unseen bar, and a little sitting room.

Description of Work: I requested an estimate to remove a wall between my kitchen an driving room and to put in a bar.

Description of Work: They created a design for us that included moving the kitchen to a different space. They took the existing kitchen, opened it up and added it onto a small dining area. The result is stunning. Previously, you would walk into our house and almost immediately be in a small galley kitchen. This produced real flow problems. Now the kitchen is in the back and instead of moving from the front foyer into the kitchen you see a large open dining area that is fantastic. This is separated by a partial wall that has a large opening to the kitchen space (eight feet). That leaves the whole dining room / kitchen space quite open. They built a semi-circular counter- height granite counter that is nine feet from the farthest point across. It contains the sink, dishwasher and pull-out drawer for the trash bins. We lived in the house 17 years before doing this and every day we wonder why we waited so long. Well, the answer was we really couldn't figure out how to do it (and couldn't afford it). From each detail, they guided us to the result. I wouldn't change a thing. There is no one who steps inside our house now who doesn't comment on how beautiful it is. This includes skilled carpenters and other service people. My brother-in-law is a framing carpenter who has his own business and he loves it, too. That is saying a lot as he is a perfectionist. Their staff was great helping us through every part of the process. My husband and I highly recommend them. I recently had them out to give me a bid on remodeling our basement / utility room and they came up with a great design. We are going to hold off due to economic uncertainties but otherwise we would have them do the remodel. They came up with another winning plan.
