Jake's Custom Lawns

UPDATE: As mentioned in a previous review, Jake and his crew did the worst job we have ever seen and damaged our sprinkler lines and landscaping lighting wires and refused to fix it. As a result of Jake's actions, we tried to remedy the situation through Jake who refused and ignored all the evidence. We then went through the BBB where Jake was a member. His accreditation was revoked in January 2020 for failure to comply. I presented all my pictures and documents to the BBB and for Jake to review. Since he failed to respond and refuse arbitration, his credibility has been permanently lost.

We prepaid for several projects and lawn care on April 14 and we were told prior to this that everything was going to completed by April 15. Jake was also going to complete a few warranty items that were also paid for in full last year. Jake was told numerous times that we had to have everything done by May 25, for our youngest son's high school graduation party. Jake finally came over on May 29 and only completed 2 of the projects. and left us with a yard looking absolutely embarrassing. Finally, after 2 more weeks of excuses, no shows and no other work done, we demanded a full refund of $1,308 of which he only refunded $259.50. Jake still owes us $1,048.50 to date. We trusted and believed Jake would be honest and true to his word and we were sadly mistaken. All we ever wanted was for him to do what we prepaid him for on April 14 and his warranty work he promised to correct. Furthermore, Jake and his crew destroyed our 7 hard wired spotlights by cutting the wires and also completely covered 4 sprinkler heads and cut into the sprinkler water lines that fed 2 zones that no longer function which he knew he did but tried to deceive and hide it from us. Once again, we are stuck with paying another contractor to fix more items that Jake destroyed. After 2 ½ months, his lack of professionalism, customer service and work ethics have been and continues to be the worst we have ever experienced and we hope that no other person, family or business will allow him the opportunity to do this to them. We have filed a BBB complaint and after that is settled, we plan on filing a small claims court action against him.
