I hired heartland to maintain my yard using there 6 step service. After the 1st year my crabgrass was awful so I called and complained. They said I need to give it at least 2 years for results. Now after year 2 it looks the exact same as when I did not have the service. I have called multiple times throughout the year to have them come out and spray again. My grass now has dead spots and still more crabgrass growing underneath it and in many new spots. I called again to ask them to waive the last bill as I am cancelling and do t feel I should have to pay since their service is not working. They said they could have someone come out to fix areas again. I said “no” as I’ve given them multiple opportunities already. They would not waive the last bill. I do not recommend this company and there quote to “service the customer and make them happy is NOT a true”.

Used Heartland Lawns for several years. The last few years the weed control was essentially non-existent. Despite follow-up contact to them in-between applications or prior to applications to ask the tech to please increase weed control, the weeds remained. Patches where the grass was dying went unaddressed for years, even after I contacted them to diagnose the issue. After I emailed to cancel my service, I was asked why. When I explained why I was canceling and sent pictures, an administrator's reply was to blame me for not contacting them enough. Her email reply: “You had guaranteed weed & grub control. If you would have contacted us in between treatments we would have addressed your issues.”

Heartland Lawns has done a very good job treating my lawn and I can now be proud of how green it is.

Called to set up an aeration and they quickly came out to estimate and provide a reasonable price with recommendations for lawn improvement. When asked to proceed with aeration, I was informed the approximate wait time was about 4-6 weeks due to the need to service existing customers first. Though inconvenient, it's fair that they'd provide scheduled service to others as promised. It's a good problem to be busy and it seems others trust their service due to their apparent workload, but new customers beware - you may need to get in line. Long story short, they seemed nice and professional, but I found a different company to provide the same service within a few days.

The friendliness of the employees I've worked with have been wonderful. The yard has only had one treatment so far as it's so early in the season.

I found Heartland on Angie's list and made a call for lawn fertilizing. They were prompt in their assessment and providing an assessment (which was very reasonable given the size of my lawn). They were then very prompt when coming out to provide the service. At that time they recommended lawn aeration and re-seeding (only in areas that needed it). They also came out as soon as I had my sprinkler system marked. Overall I have been very happy with their services thus far and I'm looking forward to a long-term relationship for my lawn care.

We have been very satisfied with our Heartland Lawn service (fertilizer and weed control) over the last few years, and asked them to aerate and over seed for us this year. The service was very prompt and extremely thorough. However, my wife noticed that the service team got close enough to our underground sprinklers to bend several of the marking flags. As suggested, we immediately tested our sprinkler system to make sure that it was not damaged. The sprinkler heads were fine, but a hole had been punched in our sprinkler line. We also noticed marked damage to our lawn (bald strips) from the equipment. When I called Heartland Lawn to tell them that they had punched a hole in our sprinkler line, I was told that our lines should have been low enough to avoid damage, so they were not responsible for any damage. However, the plugs littering our yard are up to 7 ? 8 inches long. This indicates that the equipment used by Heartland Lawns was set to punch 7 ? 8 inches deep. The cost to repair our sprinkler line was $88.00 ? more than the cost of the Aeration.

This is the second year that Heartland Lawn LLC has been doing my yard and it has gotten better every year. I had rented out my house for six years and my yard went from OK to OMG! But that is what renters do and they don't take care of your house or your yard. They seem to make it worse. The weeds are disappearing and the grass is coming back stronger than ever. Each fall, I have the fall aeration performed and then I overseed like crazy. I like thick, full lawn of grass and it is slowly getting there. Even my neighbors have commented on the improvements from when I got back in the fall of 13 to now. Another year or two and my grass will be exactly the way that I want it to be. Heartlawn does an excellent job. They will work with you, Just talk to them.

The service was very prompt. I called them last night and they were here this morning.

This is a great company. We've used them dating back to 2008. Highly recommend Dan and his team!

The service went great. They are awesome. The workers are very professional. They always show up when they say they would. It takes about twenty to thirty minutes to complete the work. I would recommend them to a friend. I have had a lot of success with them. I have been using them for nine years. The prices are comparable to everybody else.

Did a wonderful job. Even killed off some persistent weeds that we had for several years. Very prompt and professional.

I decided upon them by reading reviews on Angie's list and they are local and not a big national company.

rThey were prompt in starting and sending the bills. We used them for a rental property we have. Since there is no mower at the property we asked if they could assist us in getting it mowed. They said yes to that request. We were relieved they could help with that. They called someone whom they regularly call or refer for lawn mowing. The mowing was done well. Around our second treatment we asked for that same mowing help again. (We'd hoped that the house would be rented by now with the renter doing the mowing! But we didn't have a renter yet) They called us back to to say that the lawn mowing company would charge more for the extra long grass. My assistant accepted that reasonable about extra due to the length of the grass. They said it would be taken care of by Tuesday. Then when Friday arrived and I saw that it was not done we hoped they would mow on the weekend. When Monday came--and was very overgrown by this time-my assistant called Heartland to see what was the matter. The woman who answered the phone was dismissive of him and told him (quote) "Don't call here for mowing." We didn't even know the name of the company they had arranged to mow. (Keep in mind this was the second mowing they had arranged for us.) When my assistant reported this to me I escalated to Jeremy who repeated the same admonition and began arguing with me. He gave me the name of the mowing company. (They were very apologetic and made it right and did state that they are the go-to company for Heartland) He also told me when I asked, that he would relay my issue to Dan Setlack, the owner. (Of course, now the issue was not the lawn service but the way we were treated so angrily and dismissively by 2 Heartland employees.) Mr Setlak never returned my call. We are done with Heartland. Yes, this really happened. They seem to want the benefit of a good relationship with their lawn cutting referral and to be able to provide that help to their customers. But when it goes bad, they want nothing to do with it. How were we supposed to know?

Started using this year (2014). So far, so good. Was using TruGreen, but they kept messing-up my billings. Quote me one thing and bill me another. Call and they'd correct, but next month, same thing. No such problems with Heartland and they're a little less expensive. They seem to do a good job. Satisfied.

The service is very good. They are very responsive. If we need them to come back out they are very responsive. One or two people come out. It takes them about 30 minutes to an hour. I would tell a friend or family member that they have quality service and great response time.

I've been using Heartland Lawns for several years and my lawn looks great. I'm rarely home when service is provided. However on one occasion I did see them perform the service and was impressed that they took a minute to blow the gradual fertilizer that had gotten on my driveway.

I first decided to use Heartland Lawns last year when I walked past my neighbor's house and started talking with one of their employees who was aerating the yard. He really impressed me with his willingness to discuss their service. He was not a salesman, but, as he put it, "just one of the grunts." He was obviously busy and had additional yards to get to, but was the reason I called the number on his truck and got a quote for aeration and over seeding. This year, I signed up for their full season fertilization package (~$400) with a couple add-ons. The yard already looks better than it did last year.

I have used Heartland since I bought my house 5 years ago. They quickly turned a poor thin lawn with a fair amount of weeds into a thick, beautiful turf. I have had no problems whatsoever and recommend Heartland to anybody that wants to have a nice lawn. (You still need to make sure you do the proper mowing and watering)

Came out and did the initial estimate, and no trying to sell us on treatments that we didn't want. Gave a written estimate-unlike some other lawn services. Came out at the scheduled time for the lawn treatment.

So i might be jumping ahead here but i had to write about my great experience. I am a new and first time home owner and have lot of reservations. Trying to do many stuff on my own but had to draw a line somewhere.

Great! We have used Heartland for two years, since we moved to the Millard area, and have had only positive experiences. They respond promptly to inquiries and provide the services agreed to. The office staff is always polite and personable.

The company personnel are very professional and courteous. The company took extra steps in handling weeds and was very proactive The company is very responsive to requests. Phone calls were made coordinating each visit and the company was very flexible in the timing of the treatments. Highly recommended.
