G3 Roofing

I was extremely happy with this company. I had 4 bids on my roof and I was a little concerned about there bid being substantially lower then my other bids, but they were a pleasant surprise, I did roofing as a summer job in college, so I have some knowledge and they did it right, no standing around and cleanup was great.

The experience was good until 3 years later when my roof leaked. I called G3 who promised to come out in a day. 5 days and 2 rains later I got another company who came out and found the cause of the leak. The roof leaked because there was no caulking done on my rooftop. None of the nails and none of the vents were caulked. They also said that my roof was not within code because it didn't have a drip edge. The new roofing contractor said this is a common cost-cutting measure that non reputable companies do.

This was not my first roof replacement, so I had some idea of what to expect. The owner was prompt, thorough, and helpful during all our visits. Given the sheer number of roofs being replaced in my community, I was pleasantly surprised at the quick scheduling of the roof replacement, however, I was disappointed to discover later that the roof and cleanup crews were sub-contractors, without any direct connection to the owner, and the quality of the grounds maintenance definitely was sub-par. The roofing crew dumped the old roof debris on the driveway when a dumpster failed to arrive (never did show up) and I continue to find loose roofing nails around the yard. A borrowed extension ladder and rope have yet to be located and returned by the roofing crew. Having said all this, the roofing crew was polite, hardworking, and I believe I ended up with an attractive and long-wearing roof. I would use this contractor again if the workmen were his employees.
