Description of Work: We have used Donovan Brothers for many years. They serviced our furnace this time. They are so consistently amazing. They are quick, very reasonable pricing. (And I love that they reward current customers with money off their next appointment). Many businesses only off rewards to new customers! Tom has come to our home many times and is familiar with our furnace/air.

+ -1 moreThe service tech could not have been any better. He took care of the problem quickly and explained everything to me as well as giving me some tips on how to cool the house down quickly. He was the best. I would use this company again with out a doubt.
Description of Work: My air conditioner was not working and it was a Sunday. This company called me back right away even though I didn't leave a message. They were able to make an appointment for the next day. I pay a monthly service fee to another company and they were not able to come out for 3 days. (Makes me wonder why I pay this fee)

+ -1 moreCame back from vacation when it was 100 degrees and noticed the upstairs unit was not cooling. It was late afternoon when I called Donovan Brothers and they answered saying they could arrive the following day between 3-4pm. About 10 minutes later I received a call saying a service person was passing by and could stop by in 5 minutes. They refilled the freon and the upstairs was cooled in a few hours.

+ -1 moreI received a frantic call from my renter telling me that the AC has stopped working. I live in another state and checked Angie List for a AC repair company. I chose Donovan Brothers based upon the reviews on Angie's List. I called and talked to Lori and explained that I live in another state and needed to get the AC going for the renter. She was very understanding and had a Service Technician out withing 1 1/2 hour of my initial call. I asked that the Service Technician call the renter about 20 minutes before he would show up which he did. This allowed the renter to be at the house shortly before the technician arrived. They performed the work quickly and did not charge for un-needed service. I would highly recommend Donovan Brothers to anyone having heating or AC problem. I will use their services again if needed.

+ -1 moreWe had just had our AC serviced 2 days ago by another company, but it broke down again within 15 hours. When the prior company was unresponsive to our calls over 2 (extremely hot) days, we called Donovan Brothers. They came out the same day. Turns out the prior company didn't take enough time to unthaw the coils when they were frozen and they put way too much freon in our AC so the unit was extremely overcharged. Donovan Brothers had to take back out about 4.0 lbs. of freon. So we basically paid another company for adding freon when it wasn't necessary. The technician was very professional and courteous. We explained what had happened with the other company, and he even took $10 off our bill! I will definitely use this company again and will refer others to them as well.
Description of Work: Found IPR valve in compressor opening on start-up. Unit extremely overcharged. Recovered approx. 4.0 lbs. R-22 freon.

Description of Work: They moved the HVAC vents and cold air returns to new locations after I did some remodeling of the house. The house is balanced now. Once again I was thrilled with these guys!

+ -1 moreThey gave me a bid. It goes back a couple of months now and I can't recall the bid amount. It was higher than the one I went with. My experience with them went well. I would say they were professional and they showed up. They said there was an appointment at my home. They showed up on time and were quick. They gave me the details, options on traditional air conditioning unit versus the heat pump and their drawback. It was a robust conversation. They gave me a lot of details and different options and different ways I could go. It was good but the price was high. I liked everything else about the company though except for the price. I would consider using them in the future.
Description of Work: I got a bid from Donovan Brothers Heating & Cooling for the installation of a brand new air conditioning unit mid July this year, but I ended up getting the work done from somebody else.

+ -1 moreMy air conditioner was working but not nearly like it should. I called Donovan Brothers and Brad arrived and almost immediately was able to tell that the unit was low on freon. He gave me some additional hints on how to take care of the air conditioner. I noticed a difference in the temperature in my house within 30 minutes and in approx 2 hours, I was starting to get cold. I was very satisfied with the service and will be using them again when needed.

Description of Work: I was very impressed with the Donovan Brothers. I had just purchased my house on December 31st and was still finding out what 'surpises" I would unveil. On January the 7th my heater stopped working completely and it was negative five degrees outsde. As you can imagine I was horrified at the prospect that my pugs and I would freeze solid in the middle of the night. So at six o'clock in th evening on the night of the national championship I began frantically calling places looking for someone who could come keep my pugs and I from imminent freezing. Much to my surprise, I reached the Donovan Brothers after only three rings and they told me that they could be here in 40 minutes. No additional charges for after hours and no problem leaving right away to come help. He was speedy and when he arrived was patient with the fact that we had no information about the house the heater or what the problem was. He installed a new thermostat for us, told us to uncover our heatpump (which we had no idea we had) and also replaced and part in the furnace. Before I knew it the house was heating up again. I would definatly recommend the Donovan Brothers if you are looking for a company that does quality work, has good custmer service and will not charge an arm and a leg just because they can.
