Deancraft Decks

Deancraft Decks are just amazing! We hired them to replace an existing deck that was just completely unusable by original design. The job required tearing out the existing deck that ran the entire length of our home and replace it with 2 new decks that were much larger and highly functional. We ran into some unforeseen issues but they took it in stride and found solutions and was able to keep the cost extremely reasonable. Our new decks are of composite decking with cedar posts. Just fantastic experience and quality of work is simply AMAZING! Thanks!

Deancraft Decks did an outstanding job building our new deck. The owner, Gayle Townsend, was on site with his crew every day. We had a lot of other work being done to the outside of our house at the time and Gayle and his crew were very professional with those contractors. My old deck (raised about 4' off the ground) wasn't built very well and was showing it's age to the point of becoming unstable. After getting several bids I went with Deancraft decks. The decision was easy! Gayle came out promptly to do the estimate which was very competitive, was extremely knowledgeable and is just a flat out good person. I really wanted cedar and while there are many reasons to go with composite he didn't try to force the issue. Just let me know how long the deck should sit before staining, the type of stain that should be used for best preservation, frequency, etc. He is a font of information and shares it freely. I especially appreciated his tutelage on how to calculate where the stairs will fall since my old deck had a couple of steps that were of a different height than the others in an attempt to deal with the grade of my lawn. He really knows what he is doing! Today was the day that the deck was finished. BEFORE schedule if you can believe that - and the work is flawless. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Deancraft to anyone. As a matter of fact - I intend to!

The owner's son came over on a Saturday and tore down our old deck and was done in less than two hours including immaculate clean up of the work space. As others have stated, the workers showed up promptly the next Monday to install the deck. Even though it was a bit more cost, we chose the composite material over wood due to the fact that we did not want to stain the deck every other year for the life of the deck. Not to mention the fact that when you figure in the cost difference between staining a wood deck over its life and the cost of composite, they come out almost equal with less work for the composite. All in all, this experience has been the best experience I have ever had with a business. The attention to detail and just downright professionalism that is shown in the finished product made it quite easy to hand over the check for the balance of the deck.

A crew of 2 showed up exactly on time each morning, and worked nonstop except for a 30 min. lunch break. They were very professional, and built our deck better than I ever dreamed it would be. They went beyond our expectations, and our new deck will probably outlast our house. It only took 4 days to complete, and they cleaned up everything before they left. I highly recommend Deancraft Decks. My only complaint with them is that now my husband won't come inside. He sits, not on the deck, but in the yard so that he can look at his new deck.

our deck was damaged in the April hailstorm. Deancraft was referred by our general contractor. Gayle Townsend is the son Dean Townsend, the original Deancraft Deck. Dean is retired and Gayle has taken over the business. He replaced the original cedar deck with composite. He and his crew were here everyday at 7am for a week +. His work was excellent and thorough. We felt the price was fair. He also repaired the siding where the original posts attached to the house. We love the results. The deck is gorgeous.

We had 5 different bids on the deck replacement, and Dean's was not the cheapest one. Dean listened to what we wanted, and then showed us some ideas we had not thought of. We liked his presentation. Dean and crew pulled down the old 8' X 8' deck and replaced it with a 10' x 19' composite one. Total construction took 3 days. He was here set up ready to go at 7 AM sharp, and worked until about 4 PM daily. We added some deck lights post the original bid, and he came over on a fourth day to put them in. Constant comments from people walking by admiring the deck. . The deck really sets the house apart. He has done several other jobs in the neighborhood as a result of my deck. It was also built with the ability to add on to it down the road if I wanted to. If he is in business when this deck runs out its lifespan, I would have him build me a new one

Dean Townsend was our choice for the building of our deck. We had estimates and went with Dean because he was prompt in coming, gave us the estimate on the spot, was very personable and we were impressed with his experience. It was completed in less than a week with rain delays. The workmanship is second to none and we have become quite an attraction in our neighborhood! It is beautiful! I would recommend him if you are considering deck construction.. Actually, I already have several times and the deck is only two days old.

Dean, who lives in my neighborhood, built my original deck 18 yrs ago. It was time to replace it. Got a couple other bids but decided to have Dean do the job because I knew the quality of his work and his bid was competitive. Dean is semi-retired now and refers many jobs to his son Gayle, whom he trained in the art of the deck-building trade. Dean built my deck and 2 wks later his son Gayle built my neighbors deck. The quality of work is virtually identical between the two decks. Both he and his son were prompt to bid, the bid was accurate and work was completed on schedule. If Dean is unable to do your job, he will refer you to his son Gayle who will provide competitive quality service.

Gayle with Deancraft is great. When he came to give a bid, I was surprised that he wrote out the bid right in front of me. Most of the companies I had give a bid said they would email it to me, and some never came. His price was not the cheapest, but I felt the most comfortable with him as he has been building decks with his dad since he was a teenager. He has also done some decks in our area, and knew the terrain and obstacles he would face. At almost the last minute, we decided to change the design of the deck and Gayle was more than accommodating. Thankfully he had not ordered the materials yet, so there was only the added charge of the extra materials. The deck, from start to finish, took 3 days. He was prompt and there when he said he would be. His craftsman ship is excellent and even the city inspector said the deck is sturdy and will last a long time. We are very pleased with the deck and very happy we chose Deancraft Decks.
