D & A REMODELING INC

In mid March about a year after the project was completed, I emailed D&A to let them know about a problem we are having with the shower. The shower grout is falling out and cracking in several places and in some places the grout feels soft. I am concerned that there may be water leakage from the drain or shower pan. I inquired as to when they would be available to come and look at the problem. The response I received was, "Sorry, but your one year warranty expired in February." That was it - end of discussion. I see this as a complete lack of professionalism and a contractor that does not stand behind their work. BEWARE!

The job ran 17 weeks, yes 17 weeks over schedule! They use subs for plumbing, electrical, paint, tiling and carpet installation. The number of things that went wrong our numerous, but here are a few of the highlights. 1)Neither Kathy nor Wayne checked in on the subs while they were working to make sure that everything was done correctly, so fixing what was done wrong ate up the timeline. 2)Days when no one was at the house working. 3)The tiled shower had to be completely torn out and redone - they only agreed to do this after wasting time trying a "patch work" fix. 4)Shower pan had to be torn out and repoured. 5)They insist on using their vendors and expressed unhappiness when I ordered by bathroom fixtures online to a savings of $2,000 over their preferred vendor. 6)There was to be a tub sorround to mount the fixtures on the deck, but Wayne did not frame it correctly, so the fixtures had to be reordered. 7)There is little to no attention to detail. 8)The glass panel for the shower was measured wrong and had to be reordered. 9)The countertop fixture holes were cut incorrectly, twice! Yes twice. Needless to say I do not recommend.

They are very easy to work with. They were accommodating to any changes we made at the last minute. They made suggestions to us if they did not think some our plans would work. They cleaned up each day before they left and we were happy with our bathroom.
