It was just an okay service. We had to have our sliding glass doors replaced because they clouded up. Now, Clear Choice is no longer in service in this area.
Description of Work: They replaced all our first floor windows and three sliding glass doors.

To begin, false promises were made by the sales person, Tom Hammer, initially that in retrospect stretched what the installers were prepared to do. He seemed like a nice guy but definately was saying what it takes to make a sale and he could have been more accurate about what would actually take place. The initial order and communication from the salesperson to the manufacturer of the windows was incorrectly interpreted causing the windows to be ordered from the manufacturer three times now with a 6 week or more lag time because they were manufactured incorrectly. We signed the contract and paid half of the price on 5/28/10 and I expect it will be 10/16/2010 (5 months!) or after before the next set of windows arrive and installers are ready to complete the installation and I'm not confident that they will arrive as ordered - AGAIN. Add to this the fact that we have had to take several days off work to allow them access, costing us money, they have been sloppy in their installation leaving oil marks from equipment on carpets, nails and metal shavings throughout the property, oil slicks on my driveway from a poorly maintained truck, seams on the aluminum wraps placed mid-window and obvious, incomplete and poorly done caulking jobs, holes torn in screen windows, regular no-shows or late shows when scheduled work was to be done and believe it or not – screens caulked into the frames eliminating the ability to remove screens for cleaning. Customer care "sucks" and there just isn't any other way to put it. We feel like they say just what they think we want to hear. They have scheduled several times to complete the job and have had excuses such as, we're booked, we didn't get the right materials, the distributor ran out of your style and so many others I can't remember them all. We should have started to number them. If we are “eagle eye” and catch their mistakes they work on repairing them. They have fixed screens, repaired some caulked in screens and have promised to fix all of the other issues if they can ever get correctly manufactured windows to install. We expect this complete ordeal, small job that it is, to take 5-6 months if everything goes correctly in the future. The "owner" called me who must live in Iowa from the number given. He made a patronizing offer to discount $400. Unfortunately, without the job completed, I have no idea what I want to do because further damage, distruction, missed appointments and lack of job completion may still take place. He tried to explain it wasn't their fault and was that of the manufacturer. We agreed to see if the job was completed to our satisfaction on 10/16 and if so, we would discuss what we feel a fair settlement might be. The job was finally completed and the owner agreed to discount only $500 for our trouble. We took his offer and paid the balance in full but will not allow them to darken our door again. From my experience, these are people who don't care about the customer, have fair product quality, average price, poor workmanship -- and in the end, not worth the price or trouble in my opinion. I would never recommend this company to anyone, in fact, have already encouraged people to avoid them and will not use them again in the future as the balance of our windows require replacement.
Description of Work: Replaced three windows and a sliding patio door. Also aluminum wrapped all of our outside window frames to protect from further water and sun damage.
