It was about three weeks before they could come out here to install. Once the service person was here it was fairly quick and the gentlemen was courteous.
Description of Work: The customer service over the phone is a hit and miss, but most of the time a miss. It has been five months and they finally got my billing right, but they still owe us over $35 in credits for overcharging us

With century link they had to bring out new cables, the kept sending crews out here they knocked on the door they said okay we got to bury your cable lines a new cable to your house and so a bunch of guys dug a little tench through our backyard and then about a few weeks it was at least like three weeks I want to say like a month or more after that I get another knock on the door another person came in and said I got to check out this cable we think they buried it they hooked it up to the wall box, so this guy say yep they attached it to the wrong box. Some guy out of the blue and this was the day of my son's funeral, knocked on the door and it was about an half an hour we were about to leave he said can I go in your backyard and check something out and I said well this is not a good day then he said well all I am going to do is go back there for a few minutes and check it out and I will be gone and I said well you are not going to come bug me anymore. We were force to sign up for [29:42]TV,or they wouldn't carry our long distance and we had nothing but problems with that TV service they hooked it up once and we had cable hanging from the ceiling. The thing cross the screen say things like we'll keep until spaces needed and the movie that we want to watch disappear, we didn't want it to begin with, it was force on us.

It's okay. It's a little better. There's still some problems with their modem fixed in our house. It's not as comfortable as it needs to be.

They're okay. Sometimes you have to reboot the boxes all the time. If I didn't have to reboot the box, I would feel better about it.

Description of Work: They lied about everything. I was told my monthly bill including taxes and fees was going to be $67 per month. I got my first bill and it was correct. I got my 2nd bill and it was $110 per month. This was after the 30 days I had to cancel services. I called customer service and waited over 30 minutes each time to speak to someone. They all said my bill was correct and basically I was out of luck. The customer service people were rude and would not listen. Stay away from this company!!!!!

Internet service was generally reliable but sometimes quality lacked and VLAN would lose connections. Service supplied was 7Mbps. The loss of connectivity was intermittent so by time tried to call, service was working again. When I called to get help in changing to faster service, I was told there wasn't faster service available. But online it showed that it was available. Thru the chat function they told me faster service was available but there was no promo pricing in the area. But online showed there was. Net, net, since CenturyLink took over for Qwest, customer service has dropped considerably. It takes forever to get a service rep on the phone and I generally am transferred 3 times before getting someone to help me. If I don't get disconnected or give up.

I've had service in Colorado Springs for several years and had several billing problems. I called recently to get my service switched to my Bellevue NE address and that's when the trouble really started. I was first told that billing would not be suspended while the service was not being used. I would continue to be billed at the old address until I started service at the new address. I then called back to cancel and was helped by someone who said billing would be suspended and that I could set a date to start service. I was not sure of the start date so I set a date in early August to have service turned on after being advised that I could change it when I had a better idea as to when to restart. On 7/21/14, I called to get the date switched. I waited approximately 20 minutes to talk to someone only to be told they weren't able to help and need to transfer me to someone else. I was transferred to someone and was told they were not able to hear me. The person said a number to call and disconnected. At that point, I tried the chat option instead of waiting on hold. After getting a bunch of verification information, The person on chat told me the installation date could not be changed and immediately disconnected. So I called again. This time, a woman (working from home, from the sound of kids screaming in the background) said she was unable to find anywhere on the form to change the date. She said she was going to talk with her manager and after several holds, came back on the line and said she was not sure how to help me. After that, I called in once again and cancelled all service. I rate Century Link an F as they obviously don't care whether they retain customers or not. I'll gladly pay more for better customer service. Century Link either doesn't know or doesn't care what customer service means from the lack of training I experienced. I'll never do business with them again.

Description of Work: I had formerly had the century link legacy service(?) prior to the Omaha fiber upgrade. The install services on and in my property at the request of century link during the summer of 2013 went well. Towards the end of 2013 I was informed that the legacy service would be discontinued and I would need to switch to the fiber service. When I tried to switch I was told that it was not available in my area yet and they would contact me when it was available but they were still going to discontinue service at the beginning of 2014. Eventually I was told that was coming from centuryLink's national website and that that information was wrong. I did go sign up to switch and it was really easy until it came time to install. I was not eligible for a self install kit so I needed a technician to come out to do the install. I took a day off work and the technician who showed up said that they could not install that day because there was no fiber to my house. He said this happens a lot. I requested confirmation that the fiber was installed before I set another appointment for an install. I was later informed that all work had been completed as I was standing next to the outdoor modem with no fiber. |Other than the installation mess, the service has been great. I have the lowest tier of the fiber service which is (40MB) I think and I am able to stream videos, download items and do other internet related stuff at the same time. I have not had any problems to date with service interruptions slowing of speed that I know of.

It went well. We learned that the subs brought in to do the initial install were just going through the motions and caused many problems. The crew that came back righted all the wrongs and made the service much better!

The installer was professional and very knowlegeable regarding installation and the product. He answered all of my questions and installed the product very effectively. Scheduling was somewhat difficult because the time required for installation (6 hours) only worked on weekdays. The installer showed up about an hour late 2:00 PM rather than 1:00PM, but the actual installation only took about 4 hours rather than 6 hours estimated, ending at a little past 6:00 PM

The techs were very prompt and polite and installed 3 boxes for 3 TV's and our internet service. They did a great job installing everything and it went great. The only problem was later on the TV upstairs kept freezing up and would only let me change channels after I unplugged the cable and reset it. It started doing the same thing to the downstairs TV and that froze and never came back even after resetting everything. Our old provider could fix it over the phone and reboot the box. We were told by Century Link that a tech would have to come out the next day between 1 and 5pm. So my husband had to take some more time off to come home and wait for these people again. I was told by the sales girl that came to our house that we could cancel within 30 days without issue but over the phone they told me to cancel my internet within 30 days was free but to cancel my TV service it would be $480. Pretty amazing price for 30 days of garbage service. And a post script on their amazing internet speed. I could count to 10 between every new screen I open online before it actually comes up. My dial up service was faster in the 90's. They promised a gig of speed however my husband checked it using their speed test from their website and it didn't even come close to a gig. Do not fall for their hype. Learn from our very expensive mistake.
Description of Work: We had a very nice sales girl come to our door (which should have tipped us off right there) telling us about how great internet and cable service was with Century Link. It is so much faster internet and downloads are a breeze etc. We could get all of our existing cable channels as well for less money than we pay our current provider.

I ordered Century Link in beginning of December, found out 3 weeks later they sent it to the wrong address, they resent it once again to the wrong address. I then was going to have a technician come out and install it, HE WENT TO THE WRONG TOWN!!! Than found out he (the Technician) doesn't service my area. I called to cancel and was informed I could get some discounts if I stayed for all the trouble I was put through. I thought "sure one more chance". Scheduled a technician to come out another day (waited five hours and he never showed). I missed a combined full days worth of work and waited on them for a month and a half. The service was terrible. Unless you wish to go through the same process I did with minimal results, I wouldn't waste your time.
